When Hendrix, Clapton, Buddy Guy, Keith Richards, and many more all pay respect to Hubert...who is the greatest guitarist, ever ? Hubie made everyone that ever met him, better.
I wish it was safe places like this for black people to go to hear the blues in Chicago. Yeah I mean safe from other black folks that come to mess it up for good hard working and law biding black folks. We can't go any where safe where we live.
A wonderful man...He will be missed and remembered with love and respect...RIP Hubert, you're all together now, say hello to Pop and the gang...We love you...Jimmy D, Bev and our Crew.
@rugbyvagrant7 you need to listen to all of Howlin wolfs recordings because that is hubert playing on most of that stuff. let me see how you sound in your late 70s.......
So here's something cool--he's using and Earth III musical note guitar strap just like Stevie Ray Vaughan use. Stevie Ray once gifted Hubert a Rickenbacker guitar. And I'm almost positive Kevin Bacon is innvolved
comment s 'appelle ce guitariste portant un chapeau .... à la fine moustache jouant à la guitare et chantant dans " come on in my house " .... je le trouve génial !!!!!!!!!
@rugbyvagrant7 What's special is that it's HIS sound. Sure, a lot of people can sound like that now. Same as there are a lot of SRV and Hendrix wannabees who can copy the original note for note, and maybe do it slightly better. So what. The art is in the creation, not the copying. Hubert laid the steps for others to follow.
Helpme4011 I saw Sumlin 10 - 12 years ago and he was much older than the man in this video. I'd like to know how old this is. Hubert might be 55 here. Terrible sound mix - I hear about 90% base. bobnalong
yep what a fucked up mix. featuring Hubert, who you cant hear. And the bass I have seen with him forever. he is a great thumper. it's not his fault the mixer sucks. I KNOW what Hubert could do. And I have to be nice to bass players, I know what they use for birth control. their personalities.
A true legend of the blues. Great to see this history but whoever was responsible for the mixing should be beat. Can't hear Hubert's leads. Dang shame.
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards insistently asked (and obtained) to pay the costs of the musician's funeral. This is respect.
one of the best blues guitar player of the History!!!!
He's the man, a real blues master, Love Hubert love the blues.
When Hendrix, Clapton, Buddy Guy, Keith Richards, and many more all pay respect to Hubert...who is the greatest guitarist, ever ?

Bass player ain't the problem. He's just playing. It's the mixer.
brilliant this one also very very good music.
IMO it was Hubert Sumlin who deserves credit for giving birth to Rock and Roll with his work on the song "Movin" by Howlin Wolf. From Vienna, Peace.
R.I.P. Hubert.
I wish it was safe places like this for black people to go to hear the blues in Chicago. Yeah I mean safe from other black folks that come to mess it up for good hard working and law biding black folks. We can't go any where safe where we live.

Skip to 1:30 To the legend skip that irritating intro song.
The actual music begins at about 2:40.
Other then his guitar not being discernable it's a good vid of Mr. Sumlin!!
Hey 👋 now that what I'm talking 🦜🦜 about, Real Blueberry Blues, now slop those [ HOG ]
that be Mr. Robert Stroger on Bass!!!!!!
For some reason, it seems that Hubert is always down in the mix.
hubert
so good i just wish that hubert’s guitar was louder

@Rainyu89 He played an ESP strat through the whole song. Don't know if it's a vintage plus, is that the only series of strats they made?
The real deal.
See what Maceo was to the fonk, das what Hubert was with the blues.
@rugbyvagrant7 What's special is that it's HIS sound. Sure, a lot of people can sound like that now. I wonder when this piece was recorded?
its cool as the blues should be but i wasnt blown away by his guitar playing, sound or style. I'm sure I'm missing something?
Great music but the audio is terrible
1:29 (trust me)
Yes, sir.🙏
I hate to distract from the master himself, bu thow unfortunate of a name is Buzz Kilman? High school and college must have been difficult for him.
Helpme4011 I saw Sumlin 10 - 12 years ago and he was much older than the man in this video. I'd like to know how old this is. Hubert might be 55 here. Terrible sound mix - I hear about 90% base.
bobnalong
Robert LaGesse 😯
can't hardly hear Summons guitar, at least the vocal came thru!😯
I love Hubert but these tools in the audience are cracking me up 😆
@Thedonoftime ahhahahaha
yep what a fucked up mix. featuring Hubert, who you cant hear. And the bass I have seen with him forever. he is a great thumper. it's not his fault the mixer sucks. I KNOW what Hubert could do. And I have to be nice to bass players, I know what they use for birth control. their personalities.
lol buz kilman :P
Never, ever, ever shoot the bass player - the good ones are hard to find - and the bad ones shoot back.
A true legend of the blues. Great to see this history but whoever was responsible for the mixing should be beat. Can't hear Hubert's leads. Dang shame.
The presenter is such a buzzkil, man
All them white boys up there playin' the blues.
Tell that bass to turn it DOWN. we wanted to hear Hubert.
bad sound, can't hear Hubert's guitar, horrible theme song
Whoever did sound is a bass player.... the band needs to chill when Hubie's soloing
did the sound man not want to hear his guitar ? shame..
primus sucks
R.I.P. Hubert
Fact is it is a bad mix.
it's not a bad mix the bass player is just too loud.he is most likely deaf at this point.
