Hello, I’m 17 currently learning Hair at college and decided to learn and recreate Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret hair style. This video helped a lot. Thank you
The other thing you could try is using pillow rollers to curl the top and bang section. Since they don't have the hard plastic bar they won't leave a kink in your hair. If you want to the straight hair at the base of the hair before the curl starts be sure that you roll your curlers on base (so all the way down on top of the base of your strand of hair. Cherry red hair is so fun! :D
When I roll my curlers to the scalp I give it another turn or two to tighten it up. I hope that all makes sense...if not let me know and I'll try to explain it better...heck I might just make a video for it. :D
Thank you. My 8yo daughter has a research paper to present to her teacher on Queen Elizabeth and has to diy a costume. I think this is the perfect tutorial to try and recreate a QE inspired do for her. I hope it works as she has longer hair and a lot heavier. :) You are awesome! (BTW, Your hair looks great! It suits you. ;) )
Sissi is a great pick! I haven't seen the movies...I'll have to try and track them down. It's truly a fairy tale castle isn't it! Though I thought the hike would kill me (lol) the views were totally worth it!
:D Ladies with such fabulous strength and style! :D Have you read any of the Philippa Gregory novels? I love her portrayal of Elizabeth and Robert and The Virgins Lover.
I've always liked Sissi of Austria (aka Elisabeth, Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary) especially after I watched the German movies about her from the 50s with Romy Schneider. She was infamous for her beauty but I like the fact that she was somewhat free-spirited for a monarch! Her story is pretty tragic but she truly was stunning! Ludwig is a favorite too, I finally was able to get back to Germany and visit Neuschwanstein last summer. AMAZING.
you really know your way around the rollers... I'm somewhat of a novice, but you might be able to help... how do you prevent the plastic from creating kinks in the curl, and how do you get the curler to stay tight to the scalp on shorter hair?
I'm having a "restless" night tonight . My legs are acting up , sooooooo I'm re-watching some of your older tutorials . I love this one , it"s so soft and pretty . I also love the Royal Family , as most of us Canadians do :) I actually went to Prince Edward Island, (I live in N.B.) , to see Prince William and Katherine , The Duchess of Cambridge , when they visited Canada , and it was wonderful . I agree , Queen Elizabeth II was , and still is , always very stylishly dressed . Great video :)
After years of suffering from RLS, my husband got pills called Gabapentine and it made a great difference. I hope you found a cure since you posted this message.
She was so lovely! :D Since you already have curly hair you may not need the wave clips. Try placing the long alligator clips in place of the wave clips and see how they do. I use Salon Care metal wave clamps, they are what my Mom used to use.
Thank you so much. Do you know if she had a Middy back then? My favorite Royal was her. She was my grandma´s age and actually they looked very similar. I do too, by the way...Lol...
Ooooo...I don't know too much about them, but now I'm certainly going to check them out. I googled them real quick and they honestly do look like just a really good looking family! LOL She is crazy gorgeous!
Oh definitely he counts! :D I have to say I'm more familiar with Anastasia so now I'm completely going to read up more on Alexei! LOL...I love how you list them. Now I'm trying to think who would be my darling and who would be my lover.
I do...we've been sleeping together for years. LOL (ok...I'm literally laughing at my own bad joke) It's hard to avoid kinks entirely so I try to just be aware of those in my bang area. To avoid them I make sure to twist the plastic bar that runs inside the roller so that when I clip the other bar on it doesn't lay next to the base of the hair (if that makes sense). Depending on how short your hair is you may need to get smaller curlers to keep them in.
My favorite royals are the Norwegian royal family ;-) They're down to earth, and not the typical cliché you might think of when thinking "royalty". Oh, and I have a superficial favorite as well; Princess Madeleine of Sweden, just based on the fact that she's gorgeous!
Hahahaa! so you sleep together AND you cant avoid kink? lol! I think any video you post will be greatly appreciated! :) my hair is between chin and shoulder length, and the only way i've been able to really get the rollers to work best for me is either for an updo with raised pincurls on the top-front, or for an out-do I generally use them almost the same, but with a row of flat pin-curls to cover the kinks... but cherry red hair brings attention to flaws, so i want as much info as i can get! :)
I would have to say, my favorite royals are Alexei Nikolaevich (i think he counts) queen Victoria- my darling, and Marie Antoinette- my lover. (heh, im looking at the poster i have of her on my wall, Oh Marie!)
Yeah, she wasn't a looker, but she had an impact! ( and some fantastic hair). My favorite royals are tragic females. Lady Jane Grey especially. There's Grace Kelly, of course (talk about your style icon), but do you know of Soraya Esfandiari Bakhtiari? Look her up if you want to read a fascinating story sometime.
When I was a little girl having Queen Elizabeth hair or even Princess Diana hair ( I had BOTH) made me the butt of jokes in middle school. I was precious and cute in middle school but at puberty it made me a victim of other children's malice. I looked old, like an authority figure, completely un-sexy in my generation, and I want you to know while I often rejoice over vintage looks any royal looks from the mid-20th century upset me. My step-mother would roll and spray my hair for hours in the morning. She missed her calling as a 1960s hairdresser (that was part of the problem) but I was basically a victim of hair tutorials 30 years ago.
I'm sure you've already heard , but I'll post it anyway . Our new little Prince is named George Alexander Louis :) You were hoping not too traditional , and I was hoping for traditional all the way :) Isn't that funny . The man on the news tonight said " Well, I guess he can change his name when he is an adult " , lol ... I had the distinct feeling that he didn't like the name :)
I'm sorry your legs are being a**holes right now! :D I think sometimes we forget how young and lovely the queen was! :D ooooo...how fun! I'm so stupid excited about the new baby boy! I wonder what they named him...hopefully something not as traditional.

It was a great post...I really enjoyed all the pics you posted! :D Did you go to any of the celebrations?
I got it off the clearance rack at Target about a year ago! :D
You're adorable. :]
My favorite royals have always been Marie Antoinette and Elizabeth I and her lover Robert Dudley. All were beautifully tragic.
Gorgeous
Woot woo! :D I'm so glad you enjoyed it...I hemmed and hawed over whether or not people would be interested.

Love it
Ooooo...I don't know too much about them, but now I'm certainly going to check them out. I googled them real quick and they honestly do look like just a really good looking family! LOL She is crazy gorgeous!
My hair grows in tight ringlets, and I’ve been trying to figure out this style for longer than I’d care to admit.
My favourite royal is Her Majesty, The Queen and her husband, HRH Prince Philip. The couple is SO lovely!! And individually also..they are ❤️❤️ 😍😍🤩🤩
❤️❤️❤️
What are the metal clips you used? Not the alligator clips, the other ones you had in after the alligator clips were removed?
They are wave clips. :D
Oh definitely he counts! :D I have to say I'm more familiar with Anastasia so now I'm completely going to read up more on Alexei! LOL...I love how you list them. Now I'm trying to think who would be my darling and who would be my lover.
Searched this up after watching the crown
I cannot wait for the next season!
Yeah! I got the first view!! What a wonderful video for the Queen's Jubilee!
Ooooo...she's a good one. :D She was an amazing woman, especially given every thing she went through.
I do not, but I'm googling her as I type! :D I'm really enjoying reading up on royals that I wasn't so familiar with...this is fun!

actually queen Elizabeth 2 is actually the longest serving and reigning monarch in the uk when she died
Very nice
Thank you!
omg I'm going to do this in her honor
And now she is the longest ruling monarch 👏
Which is mindblowing! I have to admit I'm addicted to watching the Crown.
Rain?! In England?! Why that's wacky talk! :D LOL That would have been a crazy long day with the little ones along!
My favorite royals are the Norwegian royal family ;-) They're down to earth, and not the typical cliché you might think of when thinking "royalty". Oh, and I have a superficial favorite as well; Princess Madeleine of Sweden, just based on the fact that she's gorgeous!
My favourite royal is Princess Margaret💕
Is it okay for my hair? My hair is shorter than yours ☹️
And I have curly hair
It should still work for shorter and curler hair...in fact it will probably look better!
I don't have wave clips. Does it have any alternative?
Hahahaa! so you sleep together AND you cant avoid kink? lol!

Bawahh ha ha! You crack me up. I cannot imagine a time when Margaret Thatcher didn't look like Margaret Thatcher...even as a small child! LOL

I'm so sorry that you had to experience that. Kids can be so mean. Sending you hugs.
You were much smarter! lol We treated ourselves with a fab dinner and dessert afterwards! :D
I'm sure you've already heard , but I'll post it anyway . Princess Diana and Prince Philip. There both gorgeous!
Jessica .Draper Princess Di is still a favorite til this day! :D
A Vintage Vanity I meet her, she was even more beautiful in person
Completely traditional! ahhhh...well! :D
Binge watching videos.
My favorite royal is Queen Elizabeth I
Haha that's why I was lazy and paid the 1 or 2 Euros for the bus ride up the mountain! Although the walk down was equally insane.
Next do Margaret Thatcher! ;P
It would probably be Princess Diana, and then Grace Kelly.
I'm sorry your legs are being a**holes right now! :D I think sometimes we forget how young and lovely the queen was! :D ooooo...how fun! I'm so stupid excited about the new baby boy! I wonder what they named him...hopefully something not as traditional.
