I will say, how the way I interpreted the ending in Godzilla Minus One is actually similar to how Martin Scorsese ended Taxi Driver or the King of Comedy. The ending that we saw in the movie probably isn't supposed to be taken as objective or right in your face. There might've been some implications in the movie to show that maybe what we saw in the ending was probably a fallacy. Not what really happened. We the audience were just seeing what the kamikaze pilot wanted to achieve in life, but in reality he died killing Godzilla in that final battle sequence. That whole hospital scene towards the end where the family got reunited was just literally to quote the movie, "a dead man's dream." That telegram that the neighbor received was probably news that the wife was found dead in Ginza or she died in the hospital. This is just an interpretation however because of the growing scar that we saw on the lady's neck towards the end. That to anyone who's actually paying attention to the movie should be some indicator that something isn't right with how we are leaving these characters and the horrors never truly die in the end. It's a constant maintenance that cannot be gone forever. That being the unholy immortality Godzilla. But to reiterate, I think the ending in Godzilla Minus One was false. The pilot and his wife perished in Godzilla's attacks and the girl was orphaned yet again. A tragic ending disguised as a happy one. Whether or not this was the director's intention, I can definitely sense that within the context of this movie, no one is ever truly free from the horrors Godzilla caused. We don't see these kinds of endings in movies very often. The last time I can recall something similar outside of Taxi Driver or King of Comedy was with the ending to Pan's Labyrinth. But it was more clear to the audience that where she could've gone after the girl in that movie died. Martin Scorsese and Godzilla Minus One however are more subtle in their fallacy endings and maybe hard to catch.
That’s a super interesting way of looking at it. I’m going to give Minus One a rewatch with that mindset and see if there’s any other connective ties to that theory!
@@FirewoodMediaTV I mean obviously, if there's going to be a sequel, I don't think they're actually going to have wacky stuff happen. That I think is mostly a creation in the analog horror space. I don't think the movies have any reason to do that. It's probably going to follow a different story with a new cast. I really hope Minus One can be the start to either a new trilogy or series of grounded Godzilla movies.
I’d disagree with the first point of the mv failing like the Showa era. The Showa era failed because of consistent box office drop where the mv has seen the opposite. The last two films are arguably the most successful films in the franchise even if you consider the circumstances they were in.
It just sucks Toho doesn’t hire Pipeworks to make another Godzilla game. They are the only company that were able to make a successful game series with Godzilla that appealed to a bigger audience in my opinion. All these mobile games and dlcs are just quick cash grabs that don’t really do justice to what Godzilla games used to be like. I don’t even think Gigabash lives up to its full potential with how basic the combat system is and it’s overhead camera presentation making the monsters feel small. With all the new modern technology you could do so much more that wasn’t possible 20 years ago. Just imagining a new Pipeworks game with more realistic building destruction, better monster/environment textures, and a updated move set to include something like grappling just makes me wish it would happen already.
Not even sure why the first commenter thinks Godzilla’s image could get worse for being in Fortnite. Many popular characters are in the game and it doesn’t affect their franchise.
The argument against Godzilla in Fortnite reminds me of Josh Strafe Hayes' Metaverse video (mainly from the "Why is sucks" segment onwards). (Sorry for the double comment, the first one kepts not loading. I thought it was a comment section option detecting forbiden words and deleting the comment on the spot. Sure did for the ones with the link in it)
My problem with the Godzilla in fortine is that no one really cared for it anymore they did it so late to the point where no one really cares I don't think this is enough to impact the monsterverse but yeah I don't like Godzilla in fortnite
Godzilla GxK already looked like a fortnite skin and had that vibe so I'm not surprised...money money money. No passion or self respect... I'm tired of Hollywood.
Godzilla in Fortnite ain't all that bad considering Godzilla in fortnite is represented as Godzilla should be. Yeah his skin is kinda goofy but the main Godzilla event is being able to play as a big Godzilla and blast everyone to bits
The thing comming to my mind with the title/the first question is Josh Strife Hayes' metaverse video (more exactly the "Why it's bad" section onwards). But hey, people still like the game, the Godzilla Skin doing the Fortnite animations do be funny, and I'm not even a Fortnite player, so who am I to judge?
Godzilla being in Fortnite is fine as long as it doesn't affect canon. This is just like when Halo fans flipped thier lid when Master Chief was put in the game and people could make him do silly cat dances. People were saying that they "ruined Master Chief's image" and that isn't the case at all. It's not canon so you can just ignore it.
Let's argue :- MonsterVerse ruined mechagodzilla to a core that bringing him back in the future movies is not a viable option even if they make a kiryu out of him. That mecha had the potential if it was given a large screentime instead of 6 minutes of the third act and he was just used to giving king kong some moment to fuel his character ego after losing to Godzilla. Had monsterverse took mechagodzilla seriously they would have repeated the tale of "A.I going rogue" where mecha starts doing good to human only for it's A.I to go rogue and cause destruction and Godzilla and king kong is seriously wounded defeating him, but no instead he is a toy to a terrible rich guy villain who tries to be a hero for the people.. This mecha not only ruined the movie but also pushed me away from the Godzilla franchise for a long time.
1. Keizer Ghidorah is Poorly Designed and Quite Overrated, I think desghidorah did a Better job at introducing 4-legged Ghidorah's, Keizer Ghidorah looks too bulky and Has Stubby wings, so it doesn't really look intimidating, it just looks like it bad proportions 2. The monsterverse will most likely start with the more popular Kaiju and then move on over, like I think we're gonna see Anguirus and Space-Godzilla before we see Varan', Baragon or Orga (I recognize this take can age very poorly) 3. I doubt Godzilla Suits Will be Utilized in A Theatrical Godzilla Film Again. 4. Cloverfield, and Gamera have a chance to be in the monsterverse, since we have GvK now, why not make Godzilla VS Gamera. 5. Mothra deserves another solo movie. 6. I like the character design in Madagascar.
Minus one's vfx is perfect. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesnt have working eyes. Also if the effects are so "hit or miss" it wouldn't have won an academy award for best vfx 🙄
Some of the ginza and final battle (specifically when Godzilla is at a farm) shots aren’t the best IMO. Also movies can be nominated or win VFX Oscars even if they don’t have 100% perfect CGI.
@carchar102 well thankfully your opinion isn't accurate or widely shared. That film has better CGI than 90% of modern Hollywood films. You just don't know good VFX when you see it.
@ Yeah I’d put them at like average. But, repeating what I said in my original reply I believe that SOME of the shots in G-1 aren’t the best. The rest of it is great.
Yes, that's what I'm saying, a game that actually made sense for Godzilla to collab with, because the entire point of that game is a Kaiju fighting game, Godzilla fits right in there, unlike fortnite where he along with most other properties that have had The Misfortune of Being added to fortnite are like a fish put in the middle of the sky above the desert
To be fair no franchise should be in Fortnite, its one thing if Epic features their own series in it like Jill of the Jungle or Jazz Jackrabbit (personally I'd rather just have new games for those properties,) but otherwise it feels like the place IPs go to die.
Fortnite is less of a game now and more of a showcase of what Epic can throw money at. It's a cancer swallowing up every single fictional world whether it NEEDS to be in there or not. Godzilla did not need to be in Fortnite, yet alone as a playable character. Fortnite at this point is a skinner box for children to cry to their parents for their credit card so they can get the new skin.
@@lex_rodriguez Dude, did the Kratos skin in Fortnite made you wanna play God of War? Did the Vegeta skin make you wanna watch Dragon Ball? No, they're just skins.
This is a series called “Let’s Argue” where my viewers submit hot takes and I react to them and either argue or agree. The title of the video is only the first take presented in the video.
You could make the argument that Godzilla 2014 had realistic tones but Kong skull island did not at all it had shameless marvel humor in the most serious moments nothing against it that what made the movie have so much personality (side note my favorite line from skull island is “it sounds like a bird but it’s a fucking ant” that alone should say the tone of the movie) putting Godzilla does not disrespect the character in any way especially when you’re using the legendary version
(3:34) I strongly disagree, I don't think its overrated at all. In fact it's my all time favorite Showa era movie in the series. And not just because of the epic battle at the end or this movie being the Kaiju equivalent of "Avengers Endgame" with most of the previous Toho monsters being together in one movie. But it's also because I thought it was interesting in terms of the theme of the movie, in regards to the way the Kilaak aliens were trying to persuade or to manipulate humanity into thinking they need them in order to survive. If you wanna know more about it in detail just go watch both Alyssa GojiGeek and Dragoncurve videos about "Destroy All Monsters" (they probably can explain it better then I could lol). Also not gonna lie when I was a little kid watching that one scene with the Moonlight SY-3 crew trying to destroy the mind control device on the moon I always thought it was a tense scene. 🏝🐛🦔🦖🕷🐉🗻 (1:48) I actually agree with Plagueslayer, while the the effects in GxK aren't amazing its still pretty good (especially during the Hollow Earth scenes). Plus i'll give the VFX team credit for having attention to detail in certain parts of the movie. Like the one part were Kong is offering to give Suko some of the Drown Viper meat, you can actually see a small flock of birds flying by in the bottom of the screen close to were Suko is standing. Granted it might not sound like a big deal but I thought it was a nice touch and a decent way to remind the audience of how big these creatures are. 🌄🐵🍖🦍🕊
@m.g.zilla2022 Oh My God You're right! But yeah You're not wrong there, Even if i hate seeing drawings of a busty moth goddess And her family And cousins (That ruined a certain dubbing channel) , It's true! We can't stop anyone from doing so as at one point someone Will draw it.
@urielgonzalez2882 Yeah. But I will admit, some of the art I've seen is actually very well done. So, even if it is weird, I can still appreciate it from an artistic standpoint. I also have a friend who draws that kind of art, but he's pretty chill and genuinely loves the godzilla franchise. So it's not all bad.
I don’t really care if Godzilla is on Fortnite. But they been adding lots of characters from Disney, Skibidi Toilet, and they even have MIKU?! Idk I feel like they add those characters just for the game to be popular. I’m sorry, I’m not a Fortnite fan and also the Godzilla and Kong designs don’t look good like they don’t care how they look in the game.
My thoughts on the skin is that it looks garbage compared to evolved Godzilla in the movie, his tail is to small and his dorsal plates look off, i get its for the hitboxes but it still looks like crap, kong looks alright and Mechagodzilla looks meh to be(the fact they added MechaGodzilla and not scar King is crazy considering its a GXK collab) he should have been a boss or just playable as the mini boss like he is in the game, Kong and Skar king could have gotten the skin cause they have the human appearance more then Godzilla or Mechagodzilla. My take on GXK VFX is to me....well i'm not a VFX guy so to me the film looked alright the entire time. Destroy all monsters to me was more Mid then bad, i don't hate it but it was meh, Monsterverse human story lines is 100% terrible in most films.....every time there on screen i roll my eyes and wish it ended.....expect I loved Trapper and Bernie they were great, and Kong skull island to me had a great cast, Minus one to me is not the best film, it goes to Gojira 1954 for me, idk why but when i first watched Gojira, it just became my number one, GMK is my second favourite, then Minus one is my third then shins my forth and Tokyo SOS is my fifth. Son of Godzilla was alright to me, and that;s most of what I think about these topics, of course my options don't matter but it's how i feel about these topics.
This game is stupid brain rotted and cringy as hell I don’t like Fortnite never have and never will. I’m not into battle Royale games.
I just don't want to hear some little 8 year olds saying it's the guy from Fortnite.
I’d disagree with the first point of the mv failing like the Showa era. The Showa era failed because of consistent box office drop where the mv has seen the opposite. The last two films are arguably the most successful films in the franchise even if you consider the circumstances they were in.
The reason the show is box office numbers dropped off is because the older fans started to be alienated by the kid-friendly tones
I think Godzilla should have a game like the ps4 game. Except have the kaiju/titans from the newer films. Imagine fighting shimo as Godzilla 2014
I don't care that Godzilla (and Kong) are in Fortnite, I just think that he looks kinda cursed there. Especially when he wears the shoes.
Not even sure why the first commenter thinks Godzilla’s image could get worse for being in Fortnite. Many popular characters are in the game and it doesn’t affect their franchise.
Son of Godzilla is a goated film
I kinda agree tbh
😘
Not seen it yet, sounds like sheer fun tho
YES!
I love Godzilla’s design in minus one and it makes Godzilla intimating.
It’s neat godzilla is in Fortnite, even if I don’t play it. It still looks awful as a skin and should just be an event or smth
I knew that someone was going to talk about this
Godzilla GxK already looked like a fortnite skin and had that vibe so I'm not surprised...money money money. No passion or self respect...
I'm tired of Hollywood.
The Godzilla Gatekeeping needs to stop.
I did hear that the next Monsterverse movie will be Godzilla based and have a more serious tone
Thanks for featuring my hot take
6:45 that guy looks familiar, can’t put my finger on it.
yea… GUH! ITS A DOPPELGÄNGER-
@@SleepyGodzilla2004😰
It's you :D
Hmmmm…
Congrats!
I agree. He looks like a dinosaur soldier off Turok Evolution.
Godzilla in Fortnite ain't all that bad considering Godzilla in fortnite is represented as Godzilla should be. Yeah his skin is kinda goofy but the main Godzilla event is being able to play as a big Godzilla and blast everyone to bits
I instantly respect you 10,000x more for that title
Don’t respect him. He’s garbage.
Are you a tad salty?
@sipee_cup1717 fortnite is literally the worst game in existance and they want to corrupt everything. What do you think?
It doesn’t matter. It’s just a skin. You don’t have to play as him at all. It’s not really argument worthy….
I don't care about fortnite no matter what character they put in.
1. Keizer Ghidorah is Poorly Designed and Quite Overrated, I think desghidorah did a Better job at introducing 4-legged Ghidorah's, Keizer Ghidorah looks too bulky and Has Stubby wings, so it doesn't really look intimidating, it just looks like it bad proportions
2. The monsterverse will most likely start with the more popular Kaiju and then move on over, like I think we're gonna see Anguirus and Space-Godzilla before we see Varan', Baragon or Orga (I recognize this take can age very poorly)
I've been wanting Godzilla in Fortnite for awhile now
Tbh he should be in the game if you can’t except that don’t go on the internet looking to annoy people and dis on a great collab
@ I didn’t even say that the VFX were terrible 😭
@@THEgoofyahhpaleofan that's what you're insinuating. If the VFX aren't top notch then they're not great or they're average. There's no middle ground.
@ Yeah I’d put them at like average. But, repeating what I said in my original reply I believe that SOME of the shots in G-1 aren’t the best. The rest of it is great.
Reject Fortnite, embrace Gigabash. Be the change you want to see 🗿
Yes, that's what I'm saying, a game that actually made sense for Godzilla to collab with, because the entire point of that game is a Kaiju fighting game, Godzilla fits right in there, unlike fortnite where he along with most other properties that have had The Misfortune of Being added to fortnite are like a fish put in the middle of the sky above the desert
To be fair no franchise should be in Fortnite, its one thing if Epic features their own series in it like Jill of the Jungle or Jazz Jackrabbit (personally I'd rather just have new games for those properties,) but otherwise it feels like the place IPs go to die.
Where IP go to die and it’s the most played game ever.
@@neoPeake It is what it is, isn't it?
Fortnite is less of a game now and more of a showcase of what Epic can throw money at. It's a cancer swallowing up every single fictional world whether it NEEDS to be in there or not. Godzilla did not need to be in Fortnite, yet alone as a playable character. Fortnite at this point is a skinner box for children to cry to their parents for their credit card so they can get the new skin.
Womp
@@SMAS_YT He's right.
The truth feels like being slapped in the face sometimes.
I know.
It's not that deep. It's fun and it brings awareness to the franchise, bringing in more fans.
@@lex_rodriguez Dude, did the Kratos skin in Fortnite made you wanna play God of War?
Did the Vegeta skin make you wanna watch Dragon Ball?
No, they're just skins.
Here's my response: Everything is in fortnite at this point so why the hell not?
I honestly am fine with godzilla being in the game,i just don't really like the actual skin
Half the video wasn't even about him being in the game. It was about movies being bad or good
This is a series called “Let’s Argue” where my viewers submit hot takes and I react to them and either argue or agree. The title of the video is only the first take presented in the video.
a counterpoint to all the fortnite godzilla haters is that he can now do the miku miku beam
that anthropomorphic Godzilla just looks wrong. if their gonna do one do the one from Neoart Core
It looks like a Fetus that came out early and thus had no time to develop at all.
You’re a fake Godzilla fan. The design is literally perfection
@@Evogojiismyfavoriteit isn't, I just wish it's chonkzilla instead. Not everything needs to be perfect.
Fortnite godzilla looks like trash. He shouldn't be wearing Jordans.
Getting mad over an update is crazy
but i wanna do the griddy as godziller..
Make/buy a Godzilla costume and do it yourself
(1:48) I actually agree with Plagueslayer, while the the effects in GxK aren't amazing its still pretty good (especially during the Hollow Earth scenes). 🌄🐵🍖🦍🕊
I'm not complaining lol
Godzilla f3tish art is okay is the funniest topic i've read
Yeah, and I'm the one that said it.
The mecha godzilla skin looks so good.
Hot Take:Doug🗿
:) 🦎☢️
I don’t really care if Godzilla is on Fortnite. But they been adding lots of characters from Disney, Skibidi Toilet, and they even have MIKU?! Idk I feel like they add those characters just for the game to be popular. I’m sorry, I’m not a Fortnite fan and also the Godzilla and Kong designs don’t look good like they don’t care how they look in the game.
I may not like Fortnite, but you know what: Who cares? It was inevitable anyway and besides it’s a video game. Best we just make peace with it
Monsterversre godzilla is akin to a comic book hero from the mcu and genuinely it's something you just accept or don't.
ok buddy....
Godzilla minus one is a masterpiece….
More minus one simping.
People will get mad at anything lmao
This guy is going to complain about Godzilla and not skibidi toilet?
Wait are you saying that…skibidi toilet is in Fortnite?… (please tell me it isn’t).
Lol
He is right
St actually makes sense to be in fortnite because it actually has a similar tone to fortnite
He doesn’t even complain about it in the video.
I’m sure all the unemployed people are just as enraged about this as you are
Dude you actually cooked him 😂
Love how this guy explains it
This video is giving me doktor skipper vibes
How?
Tells me you didn’t watch it
Firewood Media didn’t a die a hero but ended up living long enough to see himself become a villain
To quote Hand Unit from FNAF 6:
“Now do everyone a favor and get lost.”
Facts. He’s not even a Godzilla fan and should be banned from the community
How so?
“Dilute” have you SEEN kotm gvk and gxk???
Godzilla in fortnite is a good thing not a bad thing but it's your opinion and one more thing the Godzilla skin doesn't suck it's a great skin so yeah
I watched, now I have one question for you. Are you Godzilla? 🤔 Can never be too careful…
Hot take: Godzilla fans are the worst
Disney adults are worse.
True, true.
'Disney parents' has joined the chat
Star Wars fans:
All right

This 10% fortnite and 90% just him talking about godzilla, also godzilla having hot gay sex isn't bad I swear 😉😉🤪😜
Counter argument:
He is.
Finally, someone with a brain
Homeboy it’s just a game
Do You really get mad about getting Godzilla in fortnite? Have you seen all the things fortnite has been doin lately?
I agree just that did you think I would have more to say? Keep in my mind this is my opinion
I honestly don't agree what the title says.
Idk. Wish fortnite didnt have em, but well, whatever ig.
I agree, I want Fortnite to die. And also Hatsune Miku too shouldn't be in this game
You clearly didn't actually watch the video.
This game is stupid brain rotted and cringy as hell I don’t like Fortnite never have and never will. I’m not into battle Royale games. I am a huge Godzilla fan always have been since I was a kid so I don’t disagree with you. Godzilla does not belong in this game. But hey, at least it’s legendary version of Godzilla. If it was a Toho version of Godzilla, I would lose my shit.
Id rather see another godzilla game like the pipeworks games than fortnite.
That first guy is so objectively wrong
Frick you
It's fun, so its cool :>
Imagine getting mad that your favourite franchise is collaborating and getting exposure to a wider audience through one of the most popular videogames ever. Honestly those kinds of people need to get a life. It's just pixels on a screen
I think you might be missing the point.
The point: *over your head*
Hot take Godzilla minus one has the best atomic breath out of any Godzilla since this atomic shows you the danger of Godzilla and it’s literally a nuke which is why minus one is an amazing film out of the Godzilla atomic breath’s legendary shin and minus one are the most destructive
GMK did the same thing 24 years ago.
Bro… Godzilla should be in fortnight💀💀💀💀 that guy is jibirish
*No, he shouldn't be.*
