@@krusher74 yeah point. It is weird in this day and age of precision and proffesional perfection that there isn't a solid sleeve or custom grip with a firm core that could be made for him and others. Would reduce inconsistencies and save the world's finite supply of tape!
I also hate drawing (hooking) the ball but I drive my hips and come in on the inside thus hooking is a serious issue with my drives. I have big hands and I have to build up the grip on my Ping driver quite a bit especially on the right hand since the shaft and grip are extremely tapered. If not I exacerbate the hook quite a bit more.
no he just hates to draw the ball.....he really really hates to draw the ball. Bigger grip helps the lower hand not turn over as much. Better players tend to have really really good lag, ie late hand release....and if anyone in golf has a better lag its bubba watson. He is the king of lag. With that said the more lag you have the faster your hands come through the ball which can cause a hook. He builds his grips up to try to prevent this
Great info. I have fought a hook forever. Built up the lower hand substantially and began hitting a fade. I may have lost some distance but obviously worth it to eliminate the left side of the course.
Would ping not be better making a mould the same diameter a the built up grip ?
Holy Jesus!
Never understood why he doesn't use jumbo grips with less build up.
Must like a firmer feel
The jumbo grip would mean more rubber which would allow the grip to twist more.

My driver grip is too skinny atm, hooking it all the time

Sergio has a later release (more lag) than anyone I think.
@@nathanwahoo3300 have a look at golfprides plus4 grip, same as 4 extra wraps in the bottom had as standard.
How long would a grip last being stretched that much, seriously?
12 wraps = mm? Does he have big hands?
Was that double sided grip tape - didnt appear to take the other side off??
No, he said only final wrap. And if they regrip it again they won’t strip the old tape
Are all his clubs wrapped like that or just the driver and woods?
i have only heard this about his driver.
