Hey guys! I tried Chapter 3 of R.E.M. Beauty by Ariana Grande in today's video... and it did not go well. If you're a R.E.M. Beauty or Ariana fan (as am I) please don't take my comments as an attack on her, it's not that serious. These are my honest thoughts on these products. That's why I love you, Johnny! You always keep it real. You don't pretend to like a product or a brand because a celebrity name is attached to it. Your audience appreciates how you discuss affordability and workability. Cuz being in this panini has wallets hurting. Nobody has money to waste on disappointing products. As a Black woman who wears vibrant lipsticks, it's separately hard to know which brand even suits darker skin colors. If it don't work on you, it sure as hell ain't gonna work on me! Thank you so much for all your dedication and hard work!
Facts I splurged and spent 20$ on a Huda lip liner and it was worse than the drug store lip liner I already had! wipes away at the slightest touch. 😤 I’m still heated over that 20$ bc wtf that’s 20$!

Yeah but I am pretty sure that ari puts a lot of effort in rem beauty. He doesn’t need to des respect Ariana grande and her co worker. All the other makeup artists they love rem beauty especially chapter 3
@@kaylasantos55 Not everyone has to like rem beauty, especially if the product is not a good quality, and chapter 3 is not the best of quality. And there's also a thing called PERSONAL PREFERENCE. If Johnny doesn't like it that's just his PERSONAL PREFERENCE. So don't go hating on people for not liking a product, because everyone has their own PERSONAL PREFERENCE. And it's not disrespect he has nothing against Ari

He seemed respectful throughout the video. He can go against something while being respectful. Just because he didn't like some products doesn't mean he was disrespectful. There's a difference.

As a young Ariana fan, I am so thankful for this video. It is so helpful for me to consider buying her products. The true user experience is so important. Even though I love her but I don't want to spend money on some product I would only use once or deceive by the package. I would rather use the money to buy her albums or vinyl.

I just bought a $10 lip oil from amazon that I've never heard of but it feels amazing. I think I'll pass on the expensive price point just because a celebrity has their name on it

@@lesliehatch-herman9325 its called Nooni! They had about 4 different ones to choose from and the one I got was applemint. Its got a plumping effect but the other 3 are supposed to be just oils without the plumping. I'm definitely gonna try all 4 because I love the one I've got!!

Agreed! Plus a space for people to ask weird questions that they dont see addressed often and might be embarrassed about

Ariana should have just stuck with the perfumes she had. i got her perfume as a chirstmas gift a few years back and it was actually *amazing* like i still wear it today and my roommate always compliments it when i have it on

The stickiness is the kiss of death for a liquid lipstick. It ends up giving that butthole look and drying you're lips something awful. Hard pass on the brand so far. As a makeup person, she's an excellent singer

Enjoyed this honest but still professional review. Celebrity brands keep popping up left and right and while I never want anyone to fail and don't take pleasure in seeing that failure, I do agree that sometimes it doesn't make obvious sense for people to have a brand just because they can. Those lipsticks looked amazing on you. All them were great but I especially loved Cuddly on you.
I'm also probably in the minority, but I love when people try lipstick on (myself included) without other makeup on. If it looks great on you with absolutely nothing else on, you know it's going to be a go-to color. :)
Appreciate your candor and honesty. I've had lip stuff crack and make my lips stick together but was told that I just didn't apply it correctly. Now I know it's actually the formula/ brand. Thank you Johnny!!

The blush/lip bullet was the only thing I bought. It's as though she didn't even take the time to play with the products for which she signed some ridiculous licensing agreement. I have heard a lot of people like her fragrances, so she should have been satisfied with those. The cosmetics are going to end up in those liquidation stores at a big discount.
How do you know she didn’t take the time to play with her products? Some people actually liked them is just about preferences not about Ariana or her co workers not putting effort

@@arandootsarandano And some people are willing to accept inferior products just because they are associated with their favorite pop star, Ariana Grande. I have used innumerable cosmetic products from Maybelline, e.l.f., Wet'n'Wild to Pat McGrath, Chantecaille, Chanel, Tom Ford, Sisley, Charlotte Tilbury, By Terry, Guerlain, Givenchy, YSL, Clé de Peau Beauté, Le Metier de Beauté, et al., so I have some appreciation of quality across the spectrum of price points of products. Many of R.E.M.'s products are not even of high drug store quality and are ridiculously overpriced for what they offer. Skin texture and "preferences" are irrelevant unless your preference is to pay for a celebrity-promoted product only because of the celebrity despite its lack of quality.
@@trialgoddess idk, I honestly care nothing about Ariana and I love some of these products. I have used products from fenty, rare, Chanel, Dior, nars, charlotte tilbury, tom ford, etc. I still really love the plumping glosses and concealer by r.e.m. the liquid lipstick isn’t the absolute best (about face is my favorite matte) but it’s nothing that bad
As someone who never learned much about makeup, this is exactly the kind of video that helps walk me into the world in a more accessible way. Starting at level ZERO means that the whole beauty industry can be really daunting and intimidating, but having you walk through each product clearly, using lots of descriptive words and showing what you mean at the same time--just *chef's kiss*! Thank you for breaking things down!

JR is so talented not only a wonderful comedian but a fantastic make up artist and hugely knowledgeable about all aspects of make up including the chemistry.

I appreciate the honesty! I see so many creators saying how perfect certain celebrity branded makeup are.. while they’re also die hard fans. I understand supporting people you like but it’s nice to actually get products that work for that price range!

Johnny I really appreciate your candor. I've seen a few other influencers review this and I find it so difficult to believe when everything is so amazing and they don't ever find any flaws with anything. I knew they were full of bs.
I prefer lip liner pencils that are just creamy enough to smooth out & use as a filler as well. Idk much about makeup, but I do know what u mean about these being difficult to apply & feeling kind of dragging.👍❤️

But I just can't believe it.
You can't tell me a millionaire isn't able to work with her lab on really good formulas... or give us some interesting shades that are not as seen in every other brand 1 red 2 berrys and a brown. This is once again a big dissapointment. And I'm getting kinda mad about it

Honestly, some of the celebrities makeup brands aren’t worth it. I will always love Rare Beauty and Fenty Beauty. I can’t name any other celebrities makeup brands I like.

Hello Johnny I got my first ever lip shine, it smells good and it has sparkles but not too much. I also got a mascara and a brow pen, thanks to your videos I know lots about make up but this is my beginning pack 😊 I also made myself a nice skin care kit too I’m so excited

I love Ariana Grande, but im also 32 and have been disabled/on disability almost my entire adult life, so ya girl *does not* have money to throw away. I can count on one hand how many makeup products I've bought in the last year(other than mascara& lip gloss) because at this point, my collection is so large, I can dupe the majority of products that come out.
Also, I don't use foundation anymore, just the tiniest bit(one, two dots max) of concealer, the Rare Beauty bronzing stick, an LYS cream blush, the Dior Powder no powder, then I put a little of the bronzer and blush in my crease, and put a duochrome from Adept Cosmetics on my lid and/or in the inner corner. So I just don't need the full coverage, crazy lewk items anymore
For sticky liquid lipsticks I use a translucent setting powder to matte it down

R.E.M Beauty never really got my attention. I’m not a fan of Ariana (as in I don’t listen to her music) so idk the whole brand was just something random to me.
I really had to giggle when the lip oils were being tested. I don’t understand why brands have like 5 lip oils that are just different scents n everything else is the same. Kinda unnecessary.

I can’t do my own makeup because I have dysphoria and can’t see my own face (can see others fine) but watching your stuff has been an absolute treat. I have binged a lot.
Try doing others makeup ! Ask them to do yours too, or go to Sephora and have them glam you up for a few dollars. Even if you don’t want to look, you may be looked at differently for the day or spoken to differently than you are used to. Now, this is not a good thing. That is society being messed up. I’m just saying to try it because it may make you have a good feeling about yourself. Even if it’s short-lived, even if your anxiety makes you question their intentions (I feel you sis), someone’s smile at you could help what you are feeling. I am no doctor I have just experienced something similar, and just thought a recommendation like this wouldn’t hurt. Take care :)
