Thanks for great detailed video! Bought Pentax SMC-FA 28-200mm lens made by Tamron. Absolutely the same construction. Followed your instructions and cleaned haze exactly on the same surface as in yours lens. Must be a common problem. The surface is next to aperture blades, exposed to internals, possibly that's the reason (vapours from grease, plastic, etc. over years) . Cleaned nicely, contrast improved dramatically. Really glad that came across your video! All the best!
sir i have tamron 28-200 3.8-5.6 macro 471D canon mount, i thought it was the same model as this but but it is not, i dont know how to open the 2nd lens, the one after front lens
Very nice video, thank you. Have you done (or do you know of...) a guide for getting out the rear element? Naturally, that's the one that's hazy on my copy, though all the others seem fine.
@@MikeLinsell-ev5ym Hi, I did disassembled one entirely, but did not make a video. The rear element is sealed and therefore very difficult to open. Cheers.
great video!! i have Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 di iii rxd e-mount lens and i want to remove little bit of dust that is inside the lens. i want to remove only front element, the one first glass and not go deeper, so ,is the same process like this 28 200 lens, i mean is the same structure, or if i open the first 3 bolts i'll see something different ???? cheers from Greece!!
@@kostasrestas ok, but anyway, you can try working on the lens, tamrons generally use many screws and clips, not screwing rings like other brands, with that information you can already cover some distance.

Thanks, glad the video was helpful. Don't forget to mention the channel to your friends, cheers.
can you clean the large glass that you take off first? mine has fungi in it by the looks
I think it is a plastic sealed element, you can open it to a certain extend like in this video ruclips.net/video/XxVDBvCJOk0/видео.html. Cheers.
Thanks sir

Hi, difficult to say without seeing the lens. Go to Facebook and join "lens repair" group and share some pictures there, I'm an admin there.

I actually have one on my desk that needs the vry same intervention. So, if you're patient, you'll see that one coming in the channel. Cheers.
@@diyextravaganza I'll keep an eye out for it, thanks!
Hello have you done the video for the rear element yet, i cannot find it. Thanks Mike.@@diyextravaganza

It is highly unlikely that it is the same lens, but if you're feeling brave, go further but do not force anything if not sure.
@@diyextravaganza thanks for quick response, i think that i dont risk it if theres be posible to complete different scenario! keep up!
@@kostasrestas Yeah, better be sure before. Have you join the "Lens repair" group in facebook, you can ask around there too.

nice just bought a minty tamron but IF something happens.....

@@diyextravaganza what JIS screwdriver set do you use please?
@@gman922 amzn.to/3mC06MQ (This set has J000, J00, J0, J1). cheers.
@@diyextravaganza not sure its the right link the link is not JIS screwdrivers or is it.
@@gman922 Oh really, look for vessel TD-56S then. The set TD-56 is also useful for really old lenses which have flat screw heads.
I have this lens and find this too hard to focus and the quality of picture is not really pleasant.
Yep, not the best lens out there, reason why it can be found very cheap a bit everywhere. Cheers
