Jamaal Bowman, a member of the "Squad" and Democrat from New York, lost his primary election. They blamed the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) for its significant financial involvement in the race."

Gerrymandered and spent 15x the money spent last election cycle on the district. It’s mainly upsetting because it’s another clear example of buying elections
I just don't understand why it works. Why are we (speaking about the electorate generally here) so malleable that a lot of money sways our opinions? Why aren't we more educated and media literate so that we vote our conscience and values rather than listening to ads?
