    I very much appreciate the effort and research that you do, as well as actually trying out some of these exercises ("Felt great... but man was I sore the next day"). I think variants are a great fun way to finish off a workout (if you have some extra in the tank, or want to burn off calories from chocolates). Happy Easter to you and Angie!

    Спасибо брат! Appreciate your insight and spreading the rich sports science from the Soviet Union. Please keep sharing more wisdom from the USSR and Russia regarding kettlebell sport and sports science. До свидания!

    Hi, could you explain the difference between the Upright swing and the American swing witch you advised not to do? Thanks

    • @1UnstoppableForce
      @1UnstoppableForce Год назад +1

      Yes, I was wondering the same thing here!

    • @ru8775
      @ru8775 Год назад

      Me too 😄
      But I think the American swing goes above your head with straight arms and instead of it do the snatch if I remember correctly
      I also remember that the American swing is somehow not healthy for for shoulders ?

    Remember the inhumane selection process of athletes in SU, they searched for the „perfect“ bodies for the highest chance of winning a medal. This wasn’t sport for fun, also they didn’t care if the athletes had long term consequences because of this training. And most of all, the sport science was part of the propaganda of the „superior system“, and a lot of it is created with this intention.

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  Год назад +2

      I'm afraid I have to disagree brother. The SU had way less "material" to work with than the US; so they had to come up with a system that improves potential as opposed to looking for genetic freaks.
      As for sports for fun: High-level athletics are never fun and destroy the body. Coupled with the totalitarian regime, it was even more destructive; I agree.
      This doesn't take away from the results the system has produced. - Gregory

    you forgot to say about the drugs which started in the 1960s

    • @lebe-stark
      @lebe-stark  Год назад +4

      Drugs don't trump technique and fine-tuning motor pathways for elite performance.
      Interestingly enough, steroids had to quickly be abandoned since too much strength interferes with the proper execution of motor skills.
      I would be a fool to disregard major technical analyses that lead to some of the best athletic endeavors because of "steroids". - Gregory

    The good morning exercise actually is what injured Bruce Lee's back.

      "Famously, Bruce Lee seriously injured himself while performing the exercise after an inadequate warm-up and over confidently selecting his working weight"... I think there's a lesson for all of us in there.

      @@dmrevolution777 Different people/different goals. Dan John for one never does them (I think he might do rack pulls though). They make no sense in an Oly program. I've been working on my deadlift a lot recently, and watching all the material I can get. If you're interested, the youtube channel for "squat university" has a lot of info about rehabbing painful deadlifts.

      Bruce Lee trained for 8 hours a day and I think with 20kg or so the good morning can not hurt you especially not Bruce Lee 😄
      He must have been near to injury before because of training too much and resting too little and / or taking a too heavy weight
