To me Swedish and Norwegian are 2 very beautiful languages. Danish is also similar but way more gutteral as Denmark bordering Germany and the main European continet

For me the choir really both an uplifting and ominous feel to the song. You can picture yourself as both one of these highly trained disciplined men and as one of the poor conscripts facing them in battle.

A purely Swedish, patriotic and Lutheran song that most Muricans will fail to understand, but we love here in Sweden at least:)

I actually remember back in 2012 when the swedish and english version of the album this song is from came out, I was on vacation with my parents at the time and kept scanning any store that would sell cd's in any town we would get to. I finally managed to get the cd when I came back from vacation and found it in my local big grocery store. It's absolutely one of my favorite albums from the band and especially in Swedish there are a few songs that I can't hear without tearing up anymore the biggest culprit being the song "En Livstid i Krig". It felt really nice to hear the songs in Swedish back then and knowing that the band itself comes from a neighbouring town from where my grandma lives and grew up. Also as someone that grew up in Sweden during the late 90's and early 00's this song was the first time I actually ever heard parts of the lords prayer as religion wasn't really forced upon a lot of kids from my generation here.

The Carolin era are important part of Swedish history, in fact the whole Scandinavian history are involved during that time.
Its never to late to learn another language and Swedish arent that difficult compared to Finnish 😉🇸🇪
    Great song and reaction. 👍

The Swedish history is for me 'history' cuz I do not recall almost anything from school.
I know about a man (now dead) who could multiple languages and about Finnish he said it was difficult cuz he had to study that for 3 months...
      (And this is true.)

Fun fact the finnish (Hakkapelitta)are very important in the Caroelan army as most of them were skilled cavalry. By the time Karl den XII were marching towards Moscow and ended up in Battle of Poltava. Finnish part of the Swedish empire army was on their way as reinforcements and they always sealed the deal in previous battles close to the finnish borders.

Nice one guys, this is still one of my favourite Sabaton songs, along with Hearts of Iron, Aces in Exile, Hell and Back and Dreadnought. But they've done so many it's hard to choose..

'Carolus Rex' is a wonderful album. The guitarists were Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sunden. Want a gripping song in Swedish check out 'In Livstid I Krig' recorded during the Great Tour in Gothenburg (subtitles on), I don't think you all have done it. Good time with you all as usual.

The entire Carolus Rex album exists in both English and Swedish.
Some songs are not translated at all but have completely different lyrics because they are sung from different personal perspectives like in for an example "En Livstid I Krig" (A Lifetime Of War).
MrFrikkenfrakken has already recommended that song and I will do that as well.
En Livstid I Krig (live in Göteborg/Gothenburg): ruclips.net/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/видео.html.
I also recommend enabling the subtitles. Even though they are very inaccurate they will at least give a "hint" or _some_ understanding of what is being sung.

I have pondered if there are more languages that use only one letter in a word (besides "I"). 'Å' is one, and 'ö' is another.
And there is more of those 'lonely' words.
      *"å i åa ä e e ö, å' sen gick 'en..."* ( _G. Fröding_ gav svar till nå'n som frågade efter vägen... )

Loved the history part! Lost me at the song. I totally appreciate the themes and subject matter of their songs...so cool...but Joakim's voice...I just can't. Personal preference. Maybe if he only sang in Swedish, it would sound better to me?
