It seems like the Cove ability works best when paired with his other abilities to hide the fact that it's going up so it doesn't get shot out instantly. So particularly in general chaotic situations or situations when the enemy can't safely swing on it to take it out before you get value can really maximize its value.
I take it back harbor is fun but they need to buff that slow tho, it should linger and slow like the sage orb have a sound cue that they walked in cuz having that cove just having a shield is kind of crappy cuz it can be easily destroyed and it wears off when destroyed
