This is Sew Amazing! You can Make NEW Fabric with Scraps & Stitches and I am going to show you how. I found a class on Skillshare about how you can turn fabric scraps into a new fabric. I was so excited, I pulled out my box of scraps and began piecing. You too can make new fabric with scraps and stitches.
I used decorative stitches on my sewing machine that have been sitting there for years without use to build new fabric . You can also use hand stitches to create new fabric. Who knew! My Skillshare instructor knew - that's who!

I love this wonderful idea of making your own fabric. You are one great Lady!!!
I love how it turned out. Very nice colors together.
This looks like fun!!
Can't wait to see the fabric project. I love watching how you think thru your projects
Thank you, April!
Thanks for sharingb😊
Thank you for this. I have a plethora of uneven small scraps. This has inspired me to just make fabric with it and see what I come up with. I plan to keep a patch of muslin ready to stitch on throughout 2025.
Thank you for being on today! Love your contributions always, as always fellow Kentuckian.
This looks like so much fun
Can't wait to see how you use this new fabric. It turned out so good!
Enjoyed that. Can't wait to see what you make.
thx
This looks like fun. Can’t wait to see what you make with it.
Anxious to see what you make.
Thank you for showing how to make a larger piece of fabric. I enjoy your videos.
April this is a great idea 🎉. It’s very pretty. Thanks for sharing your talents ❤❤
I love her channel too
Love it thanks for sharing ❤
What adhesive product did you use for this? Love the idea of this! Thanks!
That’s a fun project, thanks NJs for showing how to work it 😂
Really interesting. Thought the adhesive might gum your machine. But it looks like you had no problems. Again, I was horrified by the fabric choices, but again, I was wrong. It turned out beautifully. Can’t wait to see what you make with it.
Good morning! I love this version of crumb piecing! I’ll definitely keep watching ! Enjoy your chocolate! Merry Christmas 🎄 rush season. Enjoy your family time!
Bernadette Banner is a marvelous source of hand sewing techniques.Have you read her sewing book? Barnes and Nobles bookstores carries it. 🍄🍄
I just want to chime in to say...I have that iron ..and I have a few others..I love this iron more than any other I've used...I don't use the steam function tho...I have well water so I'm concerned it may gunk up the inside..so that being said..I use a mister bottle as needed..but I just love this iron...so much so that I got a second one..still in the box...waiting on the day this one decides its done..lol..
I love doing things like this. I can’t wait for part 2 to see what you make with it. Y’all need to stop advertising the retreat so that there’s still a space left when I win the lottery! 😉😂
Looks like a placemat to me!
I watch Bernadett Banner all the time.
What did u use for the piece to place your fabric onto? Great tutorial
Your block turned out very nice. Are you going to make a place mat out of it? If you had it on batting the quilting would already be done. I do this type of scrap piecing on cheap copy paper with my sewing machine (so the raw edges are not showing, my stitches are hidden, I can trim off excess fabric (reducing weight and bulk) and I can pull the paper off the back after I square it up. I can add fancy stitches by hand or sewing machine (if I want them). I usually work on two to three of these blocks at the same time. I call it my mindless sewing; because, it relaxes me and time flies by quickly as I sew. I always load up five or more bobbins before I get started. When the last bobbin is empty, it's time to clean the machine, change the needle and give the machine a little oil. It's fun. No two blocks ever look the same.
What did u use for the piece to place your fabric onto? Great tutorial W mom
Intriguing!! I am thinking placements? ❤😊
Nice to see u using scraps, scrap more for us!!!
I think you're going to make a tote bag
Interesting, I am not clear on the name of the product you used to make the fabric sticky. I think I prefer the other method of reusing scraps, where you sew scraps right sides together on a fabric base.
