Great tutorial, one thing I will say without having done this yet, from what I've read the microSD needs to be formatted to FAT32 before being slotted into the PRO Duo adapter and and then formatted in the PSP. I'm not sure if this is always true, as I'm in the process of waiting on my LCD replacement screen to come in the mail, but in the meantime I've been doing a fair bit of reading about jailbreaking my PSP 2000.

do you need internet on the psp to make this work or only on the computer? and does it matter if have a larder card like a 64gb instead of a 32gb? and lastly if you do need internet how do I connect the psp to my wifi if it doesn't let me cause it doest support it?(I have Verizon)
Hi, you don't need a network connection on the PSP for this to work. You can use a larger card, up to 128gb but with higher capacities it can slow down the xmb. You won't be able to connect a PSP to a 5ghz network as the system only supports a 2.4ghz connection.
My 2nd time modding a PSP, I've tried running ARK 4, however in the wall of texts, it said it could not autodetect the device, I don't have a battery connected yet, and the PSP is running off the charging cable. Is this error because of the fact I'm missing a battery? Great vid

Yes, just skip the part for updating to 6.61. I recommend getting a sd card adapter so you can have more storage for games, but you could use the stock one if you want.

well for the psp you need to the psp iso games inti the iso folder and not game folder then they won't show up.

so there was no real reason to get a microsd card adapter for this video lol, but i love that you torched the official one it definitely deserves it
You can load more backups using the adapter and a larger micro sd card verses using the 2-4gb official ones 😁

How can i use CTW Themes? I installed CXMB and put the theme to psp/theme but nothing happen CXMB is enabled

No it's not required. You can remove the SD card to load files that way instead. However using a USB cable is far more convenient 🙂

im not able to find a iso game and when i add a game i think is an iso it doesnt show up in the memoryt card on the psp
Games in the iso format need to be in a folder called "ISO" on the root of the SD card

Check your firmware version and make sure your on 6.61
Seen other guides using infinity, is there an advantage to ark4?
ARK -4 is the Newest method for modding a PSP, and will be the only method supported going forward as infinity has been retired

An SD card adapter isn't required, but is highly recommended so you have space for backups.

You'll need to use an app called Chronoswitch to install the official 6.61 firmware before installing ark custom firmware.

You could use the 2gb one but most game isos are around 1gb in size

no clue what I did wrong, followed all the steps but I somehow cant open up the vsh menu..? there also doesnt seem to be an extras menu
problem solved, the memory card i used was the problem somehow (it was a Pro-HG Duo), swapped it with a Pro Duo and all was working

The m33 is custom firmware, you'd have to revert to stock firmware using Chronoswitch. Then you can update it to 6.61 normally from there
