Another superb video my brother. Please keep helping people understand the value of owning land in your own country. Sometimes we are quick to demonize foreigners, but we are the same people running to their countries to suffer crippling discrimination only to turn and say our government is corrupt. Though this is true, ask the other foreigners in our country what opportunities they're seeing. Anyway, the grass is always greener, I'm happy I'm building my empire in Benue State ensuring my line is well sorted for the next 100 years! God bless
I wanted to buy land in America (my country) but i feel like with all the rules and regulations it's not worth it. My boyfriend is from IMO state. So we were talking about getting land in Nigeria and Dominican Republic. You're so right about investing for generational wealth. I would love for my kids to have this and keep passing it on.
That sounds like a great plan! Investing in land, especially in multiple locations, can really set up future generations for success. Best of luck with your decisions
Bayo, you’re the real deal! Some of these things I knew about but some I didn’t. Number 10. Is even worse for African females b/c land gets passed to our brothers so in many families the men are acquiring land through inheritance but not the women. Our generation needs to radically change a lot of thought processes b/c it has kept too many of us poor and subservient and passing that down to our children and their children. I have a meeting set up with a financial planner to reassess my financial planning and I will set aside money for real estate ownership in Nigeria/Africa. Thx for this video!👍🇳🇬
Oooh you just expanded my mind into something I didn't think about. African women ownership of land. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm glad you'll be diversifying. Thanks so much for chiming in.
@@thenigeriannomad - Nigeria/Africa is not going anywhere anytime soon until Nigerian/African women level up. Girls and young Women need to be broadly educated and we need to make sure they’re included in plans for generational wealth. Poor children have poor mothers. Financially secure and content women don’t have children that are living in poverty.
An additional idea for a video would be…”Top 10 or 20 needs in Nigeria that are excellent business opportunities for diasporans”. I’m thinking of business ideas that could serve at least 4 purposes: 1. Fill a need for Nigerian ppl eg high quality healthcare services, etc. 2. Provide high quality, long term employment for some of the locals. 3. Create a strong connection b/w diasporans and locals. 4. Creating business opportunities that could lead to generational wealth for our children and other mothers’ or other ppl’s children. Bayo.. keep it up. The greatest commodity worth more than diamonds are Trust and Honesty. You will earn very good friends and associates in Nigeria as the Go to Man people have 100% confidence in investing in. . Well done !
Can you please elaborate on the full process of buying land in Nigeria? Since it’ll be different from Western steps of purchasing land or property in America.
Bayo come see us for Badagry when you get chance. We just enter Lag and will be building coastal. Yup, tired of western life was our first reason, but most important it's reason number 10.
We have been watching Eden Oasis; Confidence brings realestate opportunities to the diaspora in her videos. She has a very impressive presentation on a few new cities in development out near Ajah and the freesone where the new airport will be some day. As soon as she uploads, many are sold out in the next month.
I wish people with similar goals for investing in Nigeria can come together to acquire huge tracts of land. Many people feel the unction to invest but don't have a network to move ahead.
Its easy to buy house. To collect rents in Nigeria from tenants is an uphill task with low wage growth and lack of employment....but we still give it a try....you also lose out in Naira conversion
Business is not easy in general. You assess the risks and see if you have what it takes to handle it. Thats my opinion. Its especially not easier in nigeria.
Yes ibeju lekki is the new Lagos I have landed properties that will skyrocket, you can home a home in Lagos with an initial deposit of N3million and spread balance for 2years
You are Sooooooo telling the truth! If we don't buy it will be like America. Mr Bayou I have seen and want some land you are selling plus I want to build on it. would you PLEASE tell me where I can get a reliable buyer. Plus from what I understand I need to ask your government can I purchase land first or they can bulldoze it down 👇 PLEASE would you get back to me coming from Atlanta Georgia. I am ready to come and buy land from you.
What of currency depreciation ? The naira in 2011 was 1:85 todays its 1:414 ( dollar). I invest because it is my country, and I like property assets. .
To be frank, it is not a worthy investment to take US dollars to go invest in Nigeria where you earn in NAIRA and be subject to massive depreciation. I have had property in Nigeria and have pension in Nigeria . All have lost so much value to the point it is virtually useless. I have been investing in land here in the US and it is a better deal. The appreciation in value in Nigeria cannot match the currency depreciation that follows.
@@muyiwa508 . Absolutely, this my point , when people are banging the beat to invest in Nigeria , especially if you Uk or USA based. It simply doesn’t make an sense, I am a property investor in Uk . And when you do the maths , taking into account the Naira depreciation. Investment in Nigeria is a waste of money. And I will put it this way , using the dollars or the pounds stealing to chase the Naira is stupid. Invest 100k in Uk property market , you grantee a return in rent and property appreciation . Invest the same in Nigeria, the value of that investment , even if your property goes up in value. The exchange rate and buying power of Naira is guaranteed to be in the negative after 4 or 5 years.
@Ike Naija honestly, even though I was born and breed in Uk, I still and will always see Nigeria as my home , and I will love nothing more than to invest in Nigeria, create jobs and in the process get a return on my investment. And I have tried to do this on numerous occasions in the last 7 years, but , the government policy, the insecurity, the Naira depreciation, fraudulent behaviours, the list goes on . I will never discourage others from investing in Nigeria, because, I love to learn from this people who do. I do visit Nigeria every year and I love my country, it beautiful, lovely people. As for investment, maybe in the near future. And thanks for your response.
@Ike Naija . Thank you for those kinds words , l have no intention of giving up on my beloved country, and hopefully, that the next administration might introduce some policy that will address the concerns that I raised earlier. Five year ago I developed a business plan to go into farming on an industrial scale, even traveled with some friends to look at lands in osun state , unfortunately the insecurity kicks in and I was put off . You are right about the Chinese and the Lebanese, especially the once that run expensive restaurant near my apartment on the island. They are good business men. I am still hopeful that one of this days in the very near future, I will fulfilled my dream of doing a farming business in Nigeria. Take care and good luck .

The problem is that most if not all land/properties in cities like Abuja and Lagos are all leasehold properties and not freehold. That creates a major problem for investors like myself. I own property in the USA and Berlin and these properties are all freehold properties. Whats your thought on this?
