    Great instruction, this applies so well to my swing. Question: Would you lean more toward top-heavy when setting up with wedges?

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  11 месяцев назад

      I’d marinating the same spine position (imagine the chest direction being parallel to the swing plane of the club you are using). The other thing I’m okay with for wedges is adding more ground pressure via knee flex

  • @ReSourceEnergetics

    TS,
    First of all, I love what you are doing. You have great information and are relatable. I’ve watched these two videos and can see what you are talking about.
    I think it is all a byproduct of applying the “hit” at the wrong time. The posture can trigger for sure and lead arm for sure, but I’m also assuming that the next video will be a how hitting too early or rotating the trail arm will get you in trouble :))). How do I know this? That’s my kryptonite. At the end of the day, what I have learned from my own swing journey, is that if I apply forces too early in transition before my body and arms re-sync (probably not a word), then my rotators (hips/tspine) have to turn into stabilizers and therefore “stall”. However, if I am just a bit more patient in transition I give more time to pressure shift AND allow for rotation to begin before loading the trunk (in a reactive way) I have easy and free speed . Once you get to impact the rotation again turns into stability to safely decelerate the body.
    I’ve seen other videos of your that make it clear you know this. Anything out of sequence causes abnormal stability patterns which are like wrenches in a gear box.
    I like to be so smooth that my hands almost feel late into impact or even better almost surprised by impact. We can be smooth and fast, but you can’t have bad stability patterns and be smooth or fast.
    Thought I’d share in case someone finds it helpful :)
    Alan

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for sharing Alan! Greatly appreciate the feedback and info here and taking the time to write this!
      I agree knowing when to accelerate and more importantly decelerate is huge!!! The other key to the transition is know WHAT is starting firstly to move the club down (I like to see trail arm/ shoulder beating the hands so that the hands have to become the stability force on the grip).
      Let me know if that makes sense and thanks so much for the comment, feedback and support!
      If you ever need anything, please do let me know!

    • @ReSourceEnergetics
      @ReSourceEnergetics 5 месяцев назад

      I love that. We know the best players accelerate their hands from the top but the arm has to be in position to support the hands. You can accelerate the hands by moving just about anything (that’s where the biomechanics has to meet the art). I think what you are saying makes perfect sense. I’m going to play with that a bit. Keep up the good work. I like seeing you young guys killin’ it. So fun to watch.

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  3 месяца назад +1

      If you are scoring well and hitting the shots you want to hit then I wouldn’t change it. Phil Mickelson is a pretty good player who early extends! Only change what is going to have a direct impact on what contact and the ball is going to do!

    Great topic! Do you feel the arms independently moving out or is the chest / arm abduction across the chest what moves the arms? If the arms only hit the upper chest it should not touch the balloon

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  Год назад +5

      So this is more so as feel for not pulling the left arm straight down pressure wise on the downswing (where the lead shoulder externally rotated and the arm gets pinned pulling down).
      There are a lot of ways that the arms can start down I’d say. I have players that the arms fall without pulling (from an internally rotated shoulder), there are players when the pelvis goes into flexion and the chest works down that moves the arms, and there are players who feel the trail arm starts to lengthen as the lead side of the pelvis works around, etc. Lots of ways to look at it!
      I personally like the chest and starting the initial arm movements in transition naturally while keeping width and then firing trail arm/ trail side through around P5.5-P6.
      Let me know if that makes sense and I’d be happy to chat with you more about it if you’d like!
      Thanks for the comment and question!

      If you aren’t going to practice, it’ll likely be tougher. I’d say to pull the trail leg back back behind you and learn how to internally rotate the trail hip (quad to the target without anything going towards the ball)

    Lol! Foreel man?! You are actually recommending we go out in public feeling like a deranged Sigourney weaver with an alien bursting out of our chest?? With bad gas??Foreelz?? This has to be some kinda publicity stunt lol....
    But i got a serious request. Can you possibly develop a feel for athletic swingers wity baseball backgrounds who just love the feel of swinging hard from the top? I think there are a lot of folks that know how to sync things up by going slower, but we naturally do not enjoy that feeling and regress back to trying to sync things up at fast clip. Ive heard various pros over the years talk about feeling like there swinging backwards away from the target. I think sergio famously said he feels like hes pulling a cord backwards. And they say they do this hard. I find it works amazing esp when i feel like im slapping it to centerfield but curious to hear your thoughts.

    • @tsgolf
      @tsgolf  Год назад +2

      There are always ways to sync things up! If you want to be a hard swinger from the top, the ground will be to be very controlled (gripping the ground with the feet from a stability standpoint). You’ll also need to be able to feel more speed from the trail arm and side than the lead side (lead side can pull away from trail which shortens the radius and causes contact issues etc).
      Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything or have any questions!

      @@tsgolf awesome thanks man. I think I'm with ya. When I'm feeling my best i totally have a right/trail arm uppercut to jaw feel. Which produces lots of trail side bend away from target (which i guess is good your saying??) I think it's a great feel and even saw it in one of Gary Players old cartoons which gave me some serious confirmation i was not expecting. But when I miss they are those big scary pulls. I'm finding the key to avoid is what feels like massive side bend over the ball on way to impact.
