It almost feels like medium traction control, but I find that the wheels start to spin like crazy if you go to a high RPM at low speeds (while turning)
Yeah, sometimes I felt like I got on the gas too early and expected my wheel to go dead from understeer or for my car to spin out, but it just picks up traction instead. Took me a few hours to get used to accelerating out of corners earlier.
@@Route765 Haha! The real F1 drivers said that in F1 2019 the medium TC felt more like a real car, so they OBVIOUSLY took that feedback for granted. It feels worlds better than 2019. Even back to back with rf2 it feels like an actual sim. I’m loving it. Best graphics ever and dx12 actually utilizing my pc don’t hurt either
This is the biggest fault of F1 games compared to other sims is that the only oversteer simulation is power oversteer. On pretty much every other situation over the limit all you get is understeer. There's never corner-entry oversteer, no matter the setup or how bad you try to throw the car. You can get in too hot in a corner, turn sharply and going hard on the breaks and you all you get is understeer. Gran Turismo is somewhat similar, and I would guess it's related to the games being built primarily for gamepads where it's hard to be smooth on the steering so they can't penalize that. I was hoping that in F1 2020 this simplification would be limited to the 'casual handling mode', but unfortunately it still happens on the 'standard mode'.
Yeah, I really like ACC and it does it really well. Actually most Sims get that right. The original Asseto Corsa also does, and even Project CARS 2 has it as well. Heck, even something supposedly more arcade-y like the latest GRID does corner-entry oversteer surprisingly better than the F1 series, and it's from the same developers!
Couldn't agree more, I've racked up hundreds of hours on each F1 game apart from F1 2019 where I managed 20 hours. The handling for me in 2019 just seemed far too unnatural, far too easy to lock up, way too much under steer and then when you resolve the under steer issue you ended up with uncontrollable mid corner over steer. Jumped onto 2020 on release and was absolutely blown away at how good the handling model is on this. I feel like in 2020 you can really push the car to its absolute limits and if you over step the mark it's fairly easy to correct it but not too easy where it's unrealistic, the braking as well it just perfect.
F1 2019: -Lack of grip & downforce (up to -30%, compared to how the real life car performance was supposed to be) -Understeer festival -Terrible Weight Transfer -Bad traction & braking F1 2020 fixed all of that and made the cars feel right, though the cars could get a bit more mechanical grip.

Laser scanned tracks. So your lap times will be as close as real life. I have a full VR setup in my rig but still play 2d half of the time. Yep 2013 has some of the best handlings among codemaster's f1 franchise. There's just so much more grip compared to previous games and you can accelerate and brake so much more confidently.
I love that game, ... to me, ... I`am a casual player, and a horrible racedriver, ... how i play: I play in casual mode with all the little helpers active you can activate, with the AI at 82% to 85%, that means when i race in F2 i really have to fight to reach the first place. i mean if i nail the laps im able to match the fastest lap of the AI,... so i go mostly at place 3-5. but one thing i miss is: in a race game where the fitting of the car is key to be able to reach good laptimes, it feels very poor that there is no total to help to find your own fitting. : /
Iracing is not realistic. Ice racing is more appropriate. ACC is king of the hill. I'll probably DL F1 2020 regardless as I am a motorsport fan....so....yolo.
People talk about the handling is better on 2020. I'm in the minority, I feel the opposite. 20 it feels like I'm driving with a yellow front wing. Too much understeer. In 19 I had much better control over the car.
The idea that a sim must be “accessible” at the cost of realism makes no sense at all. There is no reason why you cannot make the best possible physics engine there is and introduce driving aids to make that accessible. This is not that unfortunately. This notion that it needs to be in the middle of road between game and sim is just an excuse not to build a new physics engine that is accurate. It’s been 10 years now and still the track surfacing is static with no real bumps that destabilise a car to force you to compromise the setup for. Tracks still have this bizarre warping undulations where cars float over with zero physical reaction. This is cartoon physics.
i think this explains why twitter.com/SHZ_Shadow/status/1286258150274936839 codemasters is purely money orientated, they don't care about they quality of their games at all. their only purpose is to sell a lot to casual gamers
Mate, no way is F1 2020 the best handling F1 game to date. No way. I own every Codemasters F1 game from the first to 2021. All Codemasters games lack self alighning torque. Release the steering wheel when breeaking traction with the rear and the steering should come alive (self align) in any RWD car including F1. CM games have always lacked this. The steering therefore feels dead(er) much deader than what is reality. Yhe best handling F1 game ever was rf F1 1991 HE with leo FFBand realfeel at 50%. The car was alive underneath you.
it just me or...in F1 2018 im with 2 sec or more faster than f1 2020....happends the same to someone ?? p.s. f1 2020 feels more faster, and feels more assisted :(
I've spent almost 1,5k hours on a controller in F1 games and while 2019 felt really decent, F1 2020's handling is so weird, so sensitive, there's just no way you can get smooth with such imputs there currently are in the game. Car is just way too sensitive, I doubt I will get used to it.
People talk about the handling is better on 2020. I feel the opposite. 20 it feels like I'm driving with a yellow front wing. Too much understeer. In 19 I had much better control over the car.
I think the people that like the improved steering are wheel racers. I have a wheel, and 2020 feels so much better than 2019. He also mentions in the video that a lot of coding had been changed to prevent abusing things like downshifting to lower gears to get better turn-in on corners.
Am I the only one who just can't get to grips with the new handling? I am just enjoying driving in 2019 way more... I am on the Xbox one with a Thrustmaster TMX Pro.
I love the new handling and I love how braking feels. Brakes are a lot more responsive and create less lock ups.

I haven’t really been able to get a feel for the car anywhere close to what I felt I had since f1 2013. Makes me wanna scream like Raikkonen in Canada in 2015
I have not played 2020 and I’m a naturally aspirated oversteer gear grinding kinda driver so dunno if I wanna
Yep 2013 has some of the best handlings among codemaster's f1 franchise. There's just so much more grip compared to previous games and you can accelerate and brake so much more confidently.
The cornering to me is stiff and I understeer alot, overall really good game very well put together as a game
what track is that hes racing on?
Silverstone
"iracing has an advanced tyre model" . you mean the one the REAL racers from all codes have shat on as bullshit tyre modeling ???
Not big into sim racing but I thought IRacing was supposed to be like most realistic of the bunch. Whats bs ab the tire handling?
Iracing is not realistic. Ice racing is more appropriate. ACC is king of the hill. I'll probably DL F1 2020 regardless as I am a motorsport fan....so....yolo.
People talk about the handling is better on 2020. I'm in the minority, I feel the opposite. 20 it feels like I'm driving with a yellow front wing. Too much understeer. In 19 I had much better control over the car.
codies still struggle to make trees look decent eh
Nah, why bother making great looking trees when you should be driving so fast that you hardly see them anyway?
Have you seen DiRT Rally 2.0? That game is undeniably gorgeous in general. Trees included imo
This is cartoon physics.
i think this explains why twitter.com/SHZ_Shadow/status/1286258150274936839
codemasters is purely money orientated, they don't care about they quality of their games at all. their only purpose is to sell a lot to casual gamers
The car was alive underneath you.
man... i feel kinda special now since i play on 2019 with a keyboard on 100+ ai... if you guys want proof i have a video of it on my channel
it just me or...in F1 2018 im with 2 sec or more faster than f1 2020....happends the same to someone ?? p.s. f1 2020 feels more faster, and feels more assisted :(
I get way more over steer. Is it just me?
I've spent almost 1,5k hours on a controller in F1 games and while 2019 felt really decent, F1 2020's handling is so weird, so sensitive, there's just no way you can get smooth with such imputs there currently are in the game. Car is just way too sensitive, I doubt I will get used to it.
When you get on the power and shift upwards it oversteers like hell
People talk about the handling is better on 2020. I feel the opposite. 20 it feels like I'm driving with a yellow front wing. Too much understeer. In 19 I had much better control over the car.
Bobby Bonilla Bobcat I am also having a tough time, I like the grip but corners are killing me , can’t rotate the car
I think the people that like the improved steering are wheel racers. I have a wheel, and 2020 feels so much better than 2019.
He also mentions in the video that a lot of coding had been changed to prevent abusing things like downshifting to lower gears to get better turn-in on corners.
Alex! Can you please make an Alonzo like return to F1 and do a my team career????
Definitely, I'm just leaving it a little while because everyone else is doing that atm lol
Am I the only one who thinks he has less grip in F1 2020?
Yes...
It makes you FEEL like an F1 car
IGN 10/10
I've got nothing bad to say about the game, 7/10 - IGN
@@rainey06au Sometimes they also make up reasons like "Too much water" 7.8/10, or "Too little pay check, 6.3/10..
They realy paid you to talk good
I wish! 😂 I've never been paid by Codemasters, I just get a review copy like hundreds of others do
I just want VR :(
Am I the only one who just can't get to grips with the new handling? I am just enjoying driving in 2019 way more...
I am on the Xbox one with a Thrustmaster TMX Pro.
It is much more arcadey
Talks about simracing and plays in "roof" view, what a hypocrisy.
How do you have 20k subs but struggling to pull 10k views on every average video
He has been inactive for 6 months.
No he posts videos and then deletes them he’s just a dead RUclipsr
BroEdz At least his RUclips channel was alive at one point, unlike yours.
@@skullbantz7155 He originally stopped with youtube in 2017. Then a year later he started to upload casually again. Don't know what your problem is
That's a good ratio.
There are a lot of RUclipsrs that have 1 million+ subs and don't get to 50k views
Why no black Mercedes?
André probably in the coming updates since its very new and not the only thing they have to do
