Music will never be the same anymore. I believe inspirational music such as Pink Floyd will never be again. One of a kind. What I would give to hear new music that is as revolutionary as Pink Floyd.
You really shouldn't take the nasty comments too seriously. Probably some old asshole like me who takes the music of their youth way too seriously. This is the soundtrack of our lives, and brings back strong emotions about the most intense, deeply felt emotions of our lives. It does my heart good to see you guys hear it for the first time.
How old is the earth? Like 6 billon years, give or take? And things worked out that we were able to exist in the time of Pink Floyd and David Gilmour. Thank you, universe!
I love Floyd, but it's an erroneous argument. You have to judge the odds in relation to our species' existence, not the planet's. So, a hundred thousand years? Which still makes us lucky I guess.
Aside from Sistah's obviously awesome emotional reaction to the song, I love that you went through the lyrics the way you did and really got the context of it and what he was saying. You're right, it is incredibly poetic, but also incredibly dark and poignant. First time i heard this song was when I was about 10 years old and didn't understand a lick of it until I was much older. Shame, because it would have served as a stark warning. I can say with absolute surety at 53 years old today, that it's exactly what happens. When you're young time seems like a slow moving, never ending commodity. The older you get the faster it seems to move until one day, you're 53 watching a reaction video of a song you probably should have paid more attention to when you were 10. :)
I've heard that so much (time goes faster as you get older) I looked it up. And apparently science can explain it. It has something to do with the amount of "circadian rhythms" you "have under your belt" as you get older Look it up, it's not just "a feeling", time seems to move faster as you get older.
@David Sanchez i don't remember the song, but it has a line: "The more i know, the less i understand." i think thats a pretty good summation. i don't hold my intellect as better or higher than anyone. i am highly educated in 3 subjects, and a mere student of life. i can say in all honesty, knowledge is a wonderful thing, but it comes with painful side effects.
I'm 53 too. I thought it was cool rock music when I was a kid. It was 1980 I was 13. Now, it has become the story of my life. Now it makes me weep and hang my head at all of the time I wasted. I've been teaching for 20 years and look at my pupils now and think, you have no idea what you are facing. Put your phone down and live.
The Dark Side of the Moon is arguably one of the best albums ever to be recorded, but I also think it is the best produced album ever and we can thank Alan Parsons for that.
There are only a small handful of perfect albums out there. This is definitely one of them. Indian Summer by Carbon Leaf is another. 2112 (both sides) is as well
Please, many of them offer to listen ''Comfortably Numb'' without you specifying to listen to the version of the show version''RUclips''; of the show''Pulse'';, so excited are they to share it with you. Obviously, the version is really good, but much shorter, and does not bring out the immense, colossal virtuosity of David Gilmour. A must for the ears, but wait until you see for the eyes. . . Phew!
There are times I can't listen to Time. Mid-40's and when I'm getting the "time is moving way too fast" blues, I cry when I hear it. I love this song - but can't always take it!
Hi, sunshine! I totally understand and I an right there with you! I am also in my mid forties and its crazy how much I think of death now. I now realize how precious our time, on earth, with the ones we love is. I hold to this song and it encourages me to love hard and to not take life for granted. 🤗😘💜🌻🌻🌻
Both are my favorite songs by them and i can never chose between them. I was so happy that they played both songs at the first concert i ever saw of them in 1988. "Wish you are here" is still my favorite album aswell.
I love this version because she literally sounds like she's in pain at one point. Like how can you do that and still sound so beautiful and powerful? As well as the ending, I found that the be the most impactful part for me, she just sounds so fragile and sad but at the same time accepting. It takes a true talent to be able to convey those emotions without using words :)
I just watched your video and really enjoyed your reactions and commentary regarding Time and Great Gig in the Sky! I first got into this album and Pink Floyd in general as a freshman in high school in 1975. I totally appreciate your preference for the live track you referenced. But as a small point of clarity, the Clare Torry track is the original and everything else is a "version". When the track was recorded, she was a 25 year old session vocalist. She listened to the track minus vocals and was asked to improvise. Off of the top of her head, she performed 3 takes (individual performances) for this album and the final track was assembled from those 3 performances. The result of which is being discovered and discussed here on RUclips 45 years later. I love it.
Syd's passing is the reason I even started listening to PF in the first place. I remember when they announced it on the news that he had died and I remember asking my mom about him and the band he was in called Pink Floyd, she said it was my dads favorite band. At the time I had a really bad relationship with my dad so I started listening to Pink Floyd and it's been a one way street from there. Today we have a great relationship and I owe it to the Floyd for bringing us closer together. Here's to you Syd, working wonders on people even from beyond the grave.
Without a doubt the most beautiful moments on any album. Time into Breathe Reprise and then into The Great Gig in the Sky. After decades I cannot listen to one without the others. How lucky am I to have discovered this band when I was like 13 years old?
You cant listen to one without the other, but you cant listen to those two together without hearing the one before and after them as well. The album runs out of songs before you have even realised you've listened to it all the way through. That is why it is the best album of all time😆
I've listened to Pink Floyd all my life, because my parents did. I have 4 Pink Floyd vinyl albums, including Dark Side. But omg...you had me wiping tears and blowing my nose by the end of Time. I never felt the song like this reaction because I always heard it. I swear Time never made me emotional until tonight. This was beyond moving.
Great reactions! Did anyone mention that Clare Torry recorded The Great Gig in the Sky in two takes, and it was all improvised? Makes it even more impressive
I really hope they do the live Pulse version. David Gilmore really brought it that night IMO. Very rarely will you hear so much emotion poured into a solo
Yeah and I sort of can't wait for the comments that say " DO it live, live is better" should confuse the hell out of Sistah getting ragged on for doing the live great gig.
@@DB-hd2gj - The pulse version video of Comfortably Numb is one of the most stunning things I've ever seen and heard, and I have watched it at least a dozen times. The most incredibly beautiful version of the song, and the solos are just mindblowing! And the light show is truly breathtaking! OMG, what I wouldn't give if I could have seen that show live. The entire Pulse concert video (which is where the Live version of "Great Gig in the Sky" they reacted to comes from) is something I think every Pink Floyd fan, new or old, should find a way to add to your DVD collection. That way, you get the best available quality of both audio and video that can be had. And watch on nothing smaller than a 32" screen!
@@HalfLifeSistah Agreed! I love your reaction to these two songs. If you haven't already seen this video can I recommend that you watch it - ruclips.net/video/mIW7xZSlZoM/видео.html. It will confirm how brilliant that performance by Clare Torry actually was - she was basically winging it on very little direction from the band and nailed it in a couple of takes. Amazing!
My wife of 40 years still cries at every Pink Floyd concert we hit, they transcend time and genres. It's an emotional experience, glad your beautiful wife felt the call i her soul.
I wanted to be cynical about her always crying but she is really just that sweet and pure. I’ve seen some fake reaction videos but this wasn’t one of them.
Hi from iran. Very good reaction to this absolute masterpiece. When guilmore play guitar i use to imagine a very big giant with lasers in his eyes that plays a huge guitar.... david guilmores guitar sound is like very powerful red laser through misty sky. Band of gods.
Greeting from the US! Your imagination is actually pretty accurate, because Pink Floyd were known for their laser light show. You must be tapped into the Floyd consciousness. :) Glad ur here, i had heard youtube was blocked in Iran, but we do hear lots of lies, just like any other place. Enjoy all the Pink Floyd videos...there are many.
@@kilgoretrout3966 Well man, if this type of content wasn't being blocked before over there; after that shit trump pulled recently and all of the horrendous occurrences which have followed in the aftermath... All of the death and destruction that has come from that one impulsive decision our imbicilic president felt the urge to make.... Damn, I am thinking that most all of it is almost certainly being blocked now... I mean I know the tyrannical Theocratic regime that has been oppressing the Iranian people & forcing that population to exist under the cruelties of a dogmatic adherence to the doctrinal "teachings" that dominate such ideologically Fundamentalist Islamist zealots as that government represents are truly an evil force intent on the worldwide conversion of humanity to their Islamic beliefs, but it has to be gone about in a much more intelligent manner than what the orange clown did.
To the people commenting on mine. I get it. Clare Torry CLEARLY co-wrote TGGINTS. However, that was the zeitgeist for session singers back then. Thankfully, she is now handsomely recompensed for this work of non-lexical vocal genius and every member of PF acknowledges it. Her poor pay and lack of recognition was not down to the group; they were blown away by her performance. It was down to the record company.
You two have to be the most empathic benevolent beings i have ever seen. Your reactions are almost as epic as GGITS and CLAIRE-TORRE. She is my FAVORITE vocal OF-ALL-TIME. Muchluv Chuck
It is great to watch and hear young generation reacting to one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever ever existed. To me, PF is always on one side and all the other greatest bands are on the other side, they are just very special in their creative music. I had privilege to see them in their 80’s tour in-door and out-door concerts in LA (The delicate sound of thunder), it was a dream come true. I wish they have continued together, we’ve could have more of that great magical innovative music. Nothing match up to their great era production with the winning formula of Water, Gilmour, Mason & Wright contribution.
Just watched your (beautifully) emotional reaction to Comfortably Numb, then I saw you had also done these two tracks too and I thought, oh, boy, she's going to feel an earthquake in her soul when she hears these two! The amazing lyrics of Time were written when these guys were in their early 20's and TGGITS vocals were done by Clare Torrey on the 2nd take. The band told her to just sing whatever came to her as she listened to the music and she sort of sang the 1st time and then let her heart and soul paint the 2nd take. x
This entire album is a long poem about life, death and transformation. It's meant to be listened to in it's entire form, one song directly blending into the next.
Honestly my biggest fear is the concept of time, mainly thanks to this masterful creation from Pink Floyd. Time doesn't stop, but we do and we procrastinate and like the lyrics paraphrase, before you know 10 years are gone and you've done nothing. I don't like to think of time too often, because it gets too depressing and too overwhelming. I think Time is the best Pink Floyd song, it's the most impactful to me at least.
If I’m going to be perfectly honest, at 65 years of age, hearing Time is terrifying. Because it’s true, so true. I’ve wasted so much time. It’s the one thing that you’ll never have more of.
Thank you for being willing to open yourselves up to this music. Time is a song that I first heard as a teenager in the 70's, and I've come back to it over and over through the years. Each time it hits me harder, becomes more real and more pointed, feeling it harder. I'm 57 now, and it's hard to hear it without crying now. It encapsulates the feeling of life slipping away like no other. (I've thought about having the lines "the time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say" put on my gravestone.) Do check in with it in the future, you'll find it speaks to you in different ways as life goes on. As to this version of "Great Gig", the story is that Clare got pulled out of bed by a phone call in the middle of the night asking her to come record some vocals for Pink Floyd. She arrived (in curlers!) at the studio, they played some of what they had for her, and asked her to improvise around it. She did one take where she included words like "oh, baby" and such. Then they asked her to do another take without words, and she did what you just heard. Later, she said that she thought she'd messed up and they wouldn't use it, because all they said was "thanks very much for coming in". But what had really happened was they were so thunderstruck at what she'd given them that they didn't know what else to say, and they knew immediately that it would be the centerpiece of the album. It wasn't until the record came out and she got a copy that she realized they'd used her track. And thus a classic of progressive rock was created! To my ears, it's a song about the experience of death itself. The first third is the soul leaving the body, and all that tension in her voice is the pain of separation - thus that last near scream, and then the "oh" of release. The next third is softer, lighter, the soul floating above the body and seeing the world from this new perspective. (There's almost a sense of air moving, like the soul is discovering its new wings.) And then the last third is the soul looking up into the Great Light, being pulled away from the world into the ether, which is why the voice goes more and more distant and quiet, fading away into eternity. At least, that's my take. :) Blessings on you both, this was wonderful to experience with you! )O(
That's genuine and authentic reactions when listening to Pink Floyd. As a Pink Floyd's fan, I always get shivers down my spine when listening to them songs.
I really enjoy watching these reaction videos. Very cool that you picked Pink Floyd who is such a masterful instrumental group. Their songs typically have everything that makes up a great song. The full meal deal - Amazing group. I would like to suggest you do a reaction on an obscure band called Captain Beyond the song I would recommend is " Dancing Madly Backwards". Thanks really enjoyed this!
Sistah, I love the way the music touches you. Rock on! I like Wolf's reaction to her too, as he is kind of one of us watching her reaction with that "I toldja it was good dawg!" expression on his face. I watch a lot of reaction vids and y'all are my new faves.
Here is an old man's perspective. Hehe. First of all, music is like food. We like what we like & there is no right or wrong. Second, most people are "imprinted" by the original of any popular music... and our brains "want" the first version which is fixed in our brain. (That's also why most want bands to perform their songs EXACTLY as they were originally done.) All that aside, I enjoy seeing your joy in "discovering" Pink Floyd. Keep the tears coming. :-)
Well, Roger Waters is 75 now and just as energetic on stage as ever. He has been one day closer to death more than 15.000 times since he wrote those lines.
Yes and Roger is still really living his life passionately and is a very caring about the the state of the world and he fights for peace and justice and empathy. I have always thought Pink Floyd's albums are a form of Opera which take you through a whole range of your inner self with all of its existential twists and turns both beautiful and sad powerful and poignant. Dave Gilmore's guitar playing somehow expresses all of those words and feelings and lifts you to a higher plane of existence.
Waters left the group, then tried to sue them for money lost then is still crying about how his music is not linked with pink floyd anymore. He thought that he was bigger than the group I don't respect waters at all. He just wants money dosen't care about music anymore. I saw him in concert and I have seen pink floyd in the 90's. Waters was basically a little kid crying on stage after each song that he did by pink floyd saying I want to do it again. The only reason why is his name is worth thousands and pink floyd is millions.
This is what I love about people like you doing reactions. You show absolute true, raw feelings and not ashamed to show them. Quick pointless thing to share with you, wheather you believe me or not is irrelevant, but my dad actually help set up the lasers for Pink Floyd back in the early 80s while on tour. A really proud moment for him. He has a few photos of them all together including my dad which is a real treasure.
The only thing is that Clare Torrey’s interpretation of the intention of what the song represents (impending death, denial, grief, and finally acceptance) was what made the song what it is. So all the recreations were just basically adding their own twist on it, and the live versions I’ve seen (and I’ve seen them twice in concert plus the dvds of other concerts), while powerful and moving, are just artists copying a song…Clare created that in two takes, then left. So that was pretty brilliant and iconic, just like David Gilmour’s solos are all iconic. Have you heard Shine on You Crazy Diamond yet? She will cry first sure at that one.
Fun fact: If you have a really good stereo system with speakers with good imaging, you can tell that the clocks were set in a circle and they ring in a clockwise direction!
I think 23, maybe 24, and she improvised the whole vocal. She rather belatedly got the songwriting credit for the vocal composition. So she couldn't have heard it before, because she made it up on the spot - all she was given were the basic chord progressions. She also halted the third take part way through, and although others claim to have mixed parts of each take, she has always insisted that what they ended up with all came from the first.
@@phillee2814 And it's said she got like 35 dollars for doing the "Great gig in the sky" vocals ( union scale). She sued years later and won co-writing credits.
Pink Floyd wrote my favorite lyric ever in Wish You Were Here. “We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year”. That lyric, for whatever reason has always stuck with me, make me tear up every time I hear it.
My favorite Pink Floyd lyric is from the track "Dogs" on the "Animals" album. "Who was broken by trained personnel". Gives me a chill every time I hear it.
@@YaoMing441 The whole Animals album is an underated masterpiece. I probably like Wish You Were Here just a little better, but IMO Animals is right up there with it. And Dogs is definitely my favorite song on Animals.
Great video y'all. Her reaction is how this makes me feel EVERY time I'm blessed with this song. Y'all should definitely do a reaction to the entire album. Its quite an experience.
Appreciate her reaction. Music -- especially Pink Floyd music -- can certainly touch a soul the way hers is. I won't subscribe because your taste in music is not what mine is, but I wish y'all and your channel much success.
Wow, what an awesome, respectful and detailed intro to Floyd ! Good on you Wolfkain. HalflLifeSistah you got me a bit teary eyed. It was a wise choice of doing the two songs side by side. As a personal note, Floyd is why I have nice stereo equipment, and probably others too.
I think the live version did it for you only for the fact that is was your first experience with the song, if you heard the the studio version first I believe it would have had the same impact, now you know how the rest of us feel when we hear the the live version because the majority of us heard the studio version 1st
The more I hear that live version the better I like it. The live version by Australian Pink Floyd, sung by Ola Bienkowska and Amy Smith is also excellent.
Just found you guys reaction to this. Firstly THANK YOU for taking the heed to put these two tracks together as they were meant to be, as a continuous flow of the same emotion that PF wanted to convey. I have to admit that I always thought Great Gig in the sky was referencing something alien, or other worldly, but then I realized what i was listening to by the two tracks together and then the rest of the album all came together despite the different styles ( the style of Money vs. Time/ TGGITS). Basically PF was trying to convey THEIR personal lives as musicians and making the most out of the time given to them. Being that they were band members. The Great Gig in the Sky was a "final performance" after death. Time being the description and warning to take hold of your life and go for it all the way before those "10 years have gotten behind you", then when Gig comes in: you either did or didn't make it in life. The first part ( build up ) was a vocalization of coming to terms with what you did do with your time ( wrestling your demons), when the music dies down, was the last breath, and then finding peace perhaps, maybe some " shoulda, woulda, coulda" ? I guess only PF really knows the absolute truth about what they were really saying, but "not saying" . The jump to Money and it's funky beat was a "bring back down to earth" move on the Albums line up. The MONEY and success that being successful musicians can attain. ( new car caviar, four star daydream, I think I'll buy me a football team ( soccer team).). Dark Side of the Moon, to me, was an introspective on themselves and what they were doing. I am quite sure, that they can honestly say, that they did not let 10 years get behind them.
I’ve seen Britt Floyd and they use 3 singers for Gig in the Sky but once they had Ola Bienkowska sing alone and she blew the theatre away!!! It was perfect and like I said she sang the whole song herself! Check her out!
Hi from China! Great, authentic reaction. Most people understandably love the original because the singer's performance was so impactful and incredible. Plus I think it might have been improvised. Your reaction was really good in this video. It made me think and was persuasive. Please, please do "Sister Awake" by The Tea Party, and "No Aphrodisiac" by The Whitlams (studio for both). Keep going.
Burra! Hi, Sunshine! Welcome to my channel and thank you so very much for the beautiful comment! I appreciate you :)) I'm happy to know that you enjoyed this reaction! "Sister Awake" by The Tea Party, and "No Aphrodisiac" by The Whitlams (studio for both)...? Sounds interesting. What type of music is it? ♥
@@HalfLifeSistah Thanks! Pink Floyd are life changing. Personally I think their final album (The Division Bell) doesn't get enough attention. About those two songs I mentioned, Sister awake is pertinent to your journey, and the lyrics will speak to you. And no aphrodisiac is just a really tremendous song. Neither are metal though. I hope you both at least check them out even if you don't post a reaction.
The Whitlams are from my home Country of Australia. They are named after former Prime Minister of Australia Goff Whitlam. The song No Aphrodisiac is a great song that I think Sistah would like. It was a very popular song in Australia. Most reaction channels only react to one Aussie band and that is AC/DC. There are many more good ones like Powderfinger, Silverchair, INXS, Crowded House, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Grinspoon, You am I and Regurgitator. Just to name a few. I know they are all rock bands and you are mostly a metal reaction channel but it is the first time I have seen someone else request an Aussie song that was not AC/DC.
@@mmaarrttyy123 I am aware that the Whitlams have a big following in AU but don't know anyone who is into them. I am a huge Whitlams, Crowded House / Split Enz / Neil Finn fan!
@@mmaarrttyy123 also Tame Impala, I only discovered their albums this year, but wow! That guy is producing some of the most interesting music I've heard in a long time.
Very nice of You providing the background information about Syd Barrett and how the band came to be what it was, and also a big thumbs up for the way You in just a few words managed to explain the meaning and content of "The Great Gig". I'm sure that gives a greater depth and understanding to people who hear it for the first time. As for which version is better or not, I think that's mainly a matter of which one you heard first. For us who been listening to this album regularly for the last 40 odd years, the phrasing, syncopation and sliding on the notes in the album version is kinda etched into our spinal cord and any deviation from that just sounds weird and artificial, even though I do get your point about the different voices giving a richer texture to the song. Finally I just want to add that David Gilmour, in his guitar solos, always seem to know exactly what note you 'need to hear' at any given moment. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, pity about the 'technical mishap' that forced the pause between the songs, but I suppose we all needed a breather after all those emotions pouring at us from the screen.
Can't you believe you actually replied Sistah! Thank you so much really. Sometimes when I get back from hs or work depending on the day I see that beautiful notification which indicates a new video and I literally get so happy, thrilled and I always watch it as soon as I can! Thought I'd share this with you guys since it's a sincere message coming straight from my heart. Don't you ever dare to change the way you are!
Good reaction to these two great songs by the Floyd, guys. Someone on this thread mentioned a GREAT Pink Floyd LIVE performance from 1971, "Echoes, pt. I", Live in Pompeii...bonus for the ladies - Dave Gilmour and Rick Wright are sporting 20-something shirtless bods as rock stars were wont to perform, back in the day.
Now you know how I felt the first time I snuck into my sister's room as an 8 year old kid and put the headphones on and listen to this song and album for the first time. Remarkable reaction really gets to your soul deep down inside your soul and makes you think about life in general. This is why Pink Floyd is the greatest band of all times hands down
The good news is that after you have herd this music for the 102145th time, it will still affect you the same way. I'm 68 years old and have been listening to this since 1974, and i am right now sitting here crying right along with you. This music is simply beautiful. I don't mean this in a juvenile or creepy way, but it is best described as an eargasm. I'm no expert, but when Clare Torry is singing I can clearly hear the 5 stages of grief, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance. did you pick-up on her saying "If you can hear this whispering you're dying".
Great introduction, setting the stage for the track. Great reaction - track still brings a tear to my eye occasionally. I’ll probably watch this video again, and again. I think you would find ‘Wish you were here’ very emotional also.
Ok, didn't realize you had already reacted to this song, so, to keep up with you guys, I subscribed, and I dont subscribe to anything but I'm addicted to Sistahs heartfelt reactions. So my suggestion is please listen to Disturbed's studio version of The Sound of Silence. The accompanying video is starkly beautiful and powerful.
You have to do Pink Floyd's music by the album. From Dark Side to The Final Cut are concept albums, thus its basically one song, telling a story as a whole.
Ya know, I just think it's incredible that your wife reacts so viscerally to great music. She's a beautiful woman and it's amazing that her heart is so vulnerable. If I remember rightly, Clare arrived at the studio and asked what they wanted her to do. They told her they wanted her to adlib, let her listen to what they had so far and she went straight in and did her interpretation and it was spot on. Difficult job. The ladies that followed had her example to lead them, again a difficult job because they will always be judged against the original.

Alan Parsons project brilliant...good post..😎😎 from Australia...
There are only a small handful of perfect albums out there. This is definitely one of them. Indian Summer by Carbon Leaf is another. 2112 (both sides) is as well
Agree )
The wall is a close runner up
Yes, let's thank the producer . forget about the musicians ...right? Dipstick!!!!
Clare Torry's vocal have never been equalled. This album STILL sells today in very respecable numbers. Arguably, the best album ever recorded.
Ola Bienkowski does almost a perfect version she traveled with Britt Floyd blew us away! Could have awaken it was Clare!!
In my years of listening Pink Floyd, I never seen someone so emotional of their music......awesome! It is like touching Sistah's heart!
Please continue with the Pink Floyd reactions.
A must for the ears, but wait until you see for the eyes. . . Phew!
Yesss PİNK Floyd ! Everyone should listen them to have a nice lifetime
If they just did Pink Floyd songs, they would have the biggest reaction channel on RUclips!!!

Tell me about it. It's beautiful yet brutal. I totally relate, often cry to this now whereas I wouldn't of in my twenties.
So glad I'm not the only one.. Thank u.
Shorter of breath and one day closer to Death...... But what do we say to Death? Not today.
Powerfully Nostalgic Song/Music.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond will have you balling in the first minute. Wish You Were Here too.
Both are my favorite songs by them and i can never chose between them. I was so happy that they played both songs at the first concert i ever saw of them in 1988. "Wish you are here" is still my favorite album aswell.
In my opinion, the full version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond is their masterpiece.

What a great honest reaction, i think i fell in love watching her
I love this version because she literally sounds like she's in pain at one point.
I love it.
She feels exactly like we all do. Love you Sistah.
I love you🤗😘💖
Syd's passing is the reason I even started listening to PF in the first place.
Grottgreta Beautiful story❗️👏👍
thats really cool man. im glad for you.
i guess you could call it Floydian-Therapy.....
That is why it is the best album of all time😆
This right here is why I love music in general, a deep emotional reaction to music is one of the most beautiful joys of life
I've listened to Pink Floyd all my life, because my parents did.
Can't wait till he hits you with Comfortably Numb... He's not wrong that it's one of the best songs EVER
Best solo ever. For sure!
my favourite song EVER
Your reaction is the coolest! What a beautiful soul you have sistah!

My wife of 40 years still cries at every Pink Floyd concert we hit, they transcend time and genres. It's an emotional experience, glad your beautiful wife felt the call i her soul.
What an amazing and genuine reaction, Sistah. I never get tired of listening to those 2 songs, and their meaning hits harder every time.
I wanted to be cynical about her always crying but she is really just that sweet and pure. I’ve seen some fake reaction videos but this wasn’t one of them.

48 years later, and "The Great Gig in the Sky" still takes my breath away...
Hi from iran. Very good reaction to this absolute masterpiece. When guilmore play guitar i use to imagine a very big giant with lasers in his eyes that plays a huge guitar.... david guilmores guitar sound is like very powerful red laser through misty sky. Band of gods.
GILMOUR is how you spell his name.

Paymun - cool.
'The Great Gig In The Sky'. Clare Torry: Two and a half takes; no overdubs; no autotune. Perfection.
Gilmour wouldn't credit her until a court forced him to, decades later.
Best £30 PF ever spent until 2004/5 when they settled out of court.
@mickor That was the equivalent about £400 back then; not bad for a couple of hours work for a 25 year-old, as Clare Torry was when this was recorded.
And they ended up using the first take.
It was down to the record company.
there you have it... another one hooked to the floyd. she NEEDS to listen to the album from start to finish.
hope she drinks some water dont want her to dehydrate

Your reactions are also the great reviews, its helps me hear songs with fresh ears - also the feeling of a shared experience is nice.
The band told her to just sing whatever came to her as she listened to the music and she sort of sang the 1st time and then let her heart and soul paint the 2nd take. x
There is a good reason this is one of the best albums of all time. It has had a profound impact on millions of people the last 40+ years.
Groin Strain yea I just listened to it again in my 40s and it ruined me! 🤕
Blessings on you both, this was wonderful to experience with you! )O(
That's genuine and authentic reactions when listening to Pink Floyd.
(That's also why most want bands to perform their songs EXACTLY as they were originally done.)
All that aside, I enjoy seeing your joy in "discovering" Pink Floyd. Keep the tears coming. :-)
isnt it amazing how great musicians can toy with your emotions like this?
@@jamesscott7657 He doesn't half sprout some lefty shit though. Just play the songs Rog...
That´s just bloody ignorant .. He plays the songs to try to get through to idiots about " lefty shit " ,
Waters left the group, then tried to sue them for money lost then is still crying about how his music is not linked with pink floyd anymore.
Christopher Nathan and Wife Sandy Farmer ok
Loved your reaction, and that’s why Pink Floyd made some of the greatest music of all time

Awesome couple. By the way, the live version of Great Gig.... is fantastic and glad you chose it.
Fun fact: If you have a really good stereo system with speakers with good imaging, you can tell that the clocks were set in a circle and they ring in a clockwise direction!
There is no doubt that HalfLife Sistah needs to hear shine on you crazy diamond.
Clare was all of 21 or 22 when she did this track, also she did it cold in 3 takes never having heard it before.
@@phillee2814
And it's said she got like 35 dollars for doing the "Great gig in the sky" vocals ( union scale).
Derek Decker "running over the same old ground, what have we found? the same old fears. wish you were here..." this is,so beautifull.
The lyrics is the genius work of ROGER WATERS not only "time" but all the lyrics of the band until he left them for a solo career
My favorite Pink Floyd lyric is from the track "Dogs" on the "Animals" album. "Who was broken by trained personnel". Gives me a chill every time I hear it.

My thoughts exactly!!! Excellent Oscar!!
I envy her so much! I wish I could listen to these songs for the first time again! And could've externalized my emotion like that.
"And then one day you find, 10 years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun".
...... wow
This part of the lyrics hits me like a truck
Hi from China! Great, authentic reaction. Most people understandably love the original because the singer's performance was so impactful and incredible. Plus I think it might have been improvised. Your reaction was really good in this video. It made me think and was persuasive. Please, please do "Sister Awake" by The Tea Party, and "No Aphrodisiac" by The Whitlams (studio for both). Keep going.
Burra! Hi, Sunshine! Welcome to my channel and thank you so very much for the beautiful comment! I appreciate you :))
I'm happy to know that you enjoyed this reaction!

I love your channel! You guys are amazing!
Thank you, Sunshine! YOU are amazing :-**

Much love HalfLifeSistah and to you too WolfKain. You two are great.
PF is emotion and emotional reactions are unique for all persons. Never apologize for YOUR emotions just because someone else has something different.
Ya know, I just think it's incredible that your wife reacts so viscerally to great music. She's a beautiful woman and it's amazing that her heart is so vulnerable. I'm sure that she's one of the kindest, most loving person on the planet, and you are one very lucky guy to have captured her heart. I absolutely love watching her hear great songs for the first time, and seeing the emotions take over. I'm captivated by you both, and I truly enjoy watching your videos.
Signed
Another gentle hearted rocker
Alright I'm hooked. First by your choice of music but your willingness to expand your musical knowledge. And Sistah you got me tearing up and I've heard this song for over 5 decades. Love you guys, keep it up.
When music speaks to the soul ❤️🎼 love love love your reaction!
'Us And Them' is my favorite song from this album
The gunners dream by pink Floyd.. you guys don't stand a chance. Incredibly emotional song!
that album is great..haters gonna hate.
Oh yes. Either that one, or the title track to that album (which shares a similar instrumentality as Comfortably Numb). Hey, either would be great!
Hey same photo man!!
Final cut is in a class of its own. Monumental and truly great, very hard hitting while still being melodious
First video ive ever seen of y'alls. I subbed before the music even stared.
I love the attitude you had to a negative comment, and I love the vibe between the two of you. I think together there is a beautiful thing happening.
HalfLifeSister your emotional reaction really caught me off guard by drawing me in emotionally to a song I've heard hundreds of times. I started to cry with you, thank you for sharing that beautiful side of yourself.
I love these two. He knows it's coming and sits calmly~ And wham she loves it! I love her reactions. TY so much for turning on another person to fantastic music. BTW what a great couple love you 2~ WOW you hit her with Great Gig.....Man you are taking her on an emotional journey today.
🤗💜
If I remember rightly, Clare arrived at the studio and asked what they wanted her to do. They told her they wanted her to adlib, let her listen to what they had so far and she went straight in and did her interpretation and it was spot on. Difficult job. The ladies that followed had her example to lead them, again a difficult job because they will always be judged against the original.
There is a RUclips interview of Clare, in which they told her to play her voice like an instrument.
The best guitar solo, from the best album of the best rock band ever. Just a masterpiece.
You made me cry. I needed to see this during this Pandemic. I have been struggling. You have brought me such peace and joy. Thank you.
Crying to Pink Floyd, such a relatable experience
