I love the chill way you do your videos, came here researching potential light options and ended up subscribing because I think your content seems very enjoyable and up-front, so good job! If I end up purchasing this light I shall do so through your link.
Magicshine and Olight are the same lights, I have the allty 800 and allty 400 on my road bike, I use the allty 800 as my main source of light and the 400 as my always on flashing front light, I love the face they use garmin mounts, I have have them mounted with k-edge mounts, these lights are amazingly good for the money
I like the idea of the tail light sensing the bike slowing down as a safety feature. I cycle in Scotland 🏴 and cars don’t really give you the required space so anything that saves your life is welcome. Thanks for posting this video up.
Narrow spot beam pattern (even using all five emitters) of the RN3500 makes it a superb helmet light for picking out upcoming trail obstacles or route changes but also limits its usefulness as a bar light. Olight's RN1500 with its much broader beam pattern is a better bar mounted option IMO for road or trail.
I have Olights on all three of my bikes. Winter, rain, dust heat. Trail, urban and oceanfront riding, no issues with the front or tail lights. People actually complain that they're too bright lol
Love Olight and MagicShine products (diff name, same manufacturer). Run the RN1500 with their older rn100 or 110 in back. Love the build quality of all their stuff, functionality and keeping up with the usb-c goodness.
I've run Olight for a couple of years as edc and Keychain lights. They're very rugged, but also consume power like crazy of CR123A batteries. Then again it's a single cell pushed 1300 lumens so that shouldn't come as a surprise. Anyhow, congrats on growing the channel large enough to rank cold call affiliate promos.
I got a couple of small edc Olight flashlights, they are pretty nice. But for mountain biking? Outbound Lighting makes by far the most well thought out and designed lights. The light coverage and quality of the beam patterns blows everything else out.
This is an Offbrand Version of the original MagicShine Light witch i bought two Jears ago ...BUT the MagicShine has an Output of 6500 Lumen :)) or Olight bought MagicShine...the Rearlight is sweet indeed...
Not meaning to "have a go" at you but if that was an incandescent bulb maglite, that ain't saying much these days. I've got one of these www.nealsgadgets.com/products/lumintop-gt-nano-flashlight? which is a keychain light and it's brighter than the 6D maglite I had back in the 90s.
@@Walking_Death The 6 D cell Maglight was huge. I believe I'd retrofitted an Led bulb. Now I have a Coast 9 cell Led with the same style adjustable beam. This one is even brighter and a bit smaller. Much brighter than a car headlight. Mounting something like this is difficult because of the weight.
@@davidburgess741 they sure weigh a ton the old maglite. Most of the time I preferred the 3 D cell, which I still have. New LED stuff is amazing. These days I have a Sofirn C8G which fits easily in a pocket but is a 2000 lumen thrower that puts usable light half a click downrange. And it costs less than US$35 WITH battery and charger.
Haha:), reminds me of some of the most intense fun I've had on bikes recently, riding my old gravel bike at night on a mostly downhill MTB trail (luckily, smooth and flowing) - what a kick! I did also have both a bright bike light and a head lamp though, I think that helped a ton with predicting the trail at least a little;). Great video, thanks!
Even using all the LEDs , the beam was too spotty and it sucked overall. I'm happy with my magicshine 906. The one with 5 LEDs. Great beam. Most videos of it don't do it justice. Better in real life. 2nd of four settings is all the light you need. Even first setting is ok. I'd say it is about 75% of high, which is 2nd mode in my mind. 3rd and 4th settings are overkill too bright and bad for runtime.
RN1500 doesn't require all that extra power/wiring. I feel the 3500 is more for off-road mountain bikers who get caught on the trails late and need to create all their own light. When I run the 1500 at full, it's like the same power as car headlights and will freak out your fellow cyclists when coming up behind them.
Dude, that’s more effective lighting than the headlights on my Miata...

Plight is so premium love their products
I’ve been using olight flashlights for a while. They might sponsor youtubers but definitely not a gimmick. Happy to see some bike lights from them
I know how fond you are of your 32nd favourite thing to do. I’m glad you’ve shared it with the world.
Love my little OLight i3 keychain flashlight. Perfect edc torch.

So how did these hold up now 8mo later. Using regularly?
All the links are to the Canadian site, link for US buyers?
Had to ask them for it but it’s in the description now!
The one i got stopped working after 4 days exchanged for a new one hope this one lasts
Does that RN 3500 use a garmin type mount vs a wahoo? I saw you had it mounted to something on your handlebars that wasn't an Olight mount.
NONE of the links work anymore. What is the deal?

From what I heard in a different video, this is a cola station build. Both logos are on the packaging for my light.
Thanks for the video I've been looking for a good light from a trustworthy co.
That light is brighter than the lights on my van.
They make USB powered ones which run off small USB power banks. They’re awesome.
I dig o-light. I've got a couple of great headlamps from them
Be advised some of their lights explode from time to time
Canada only shipping :( was actually looking for something like this
That's the brightest light I've seen since I found a way to mount a 6 D cell Maglight on my mountain bike!

Is anybody aware of a mount that will allow me to have it below the handlebars but still have the button on top?
How’s the beam pattern? Specifically, can I use it on the road without fear of blinding oncoming traffic?
No, theres no cutoff, it'll blind oncomming traffic
Novsight 1600 on amazon has a nice cutoff

I’m an olight fiend. I just watch the reviews to build the suspense while I wait to buy or receive.
Good ad.
The name really rolls off the tongue
