  • When in the Smokies a lot of folks want to hike a trail to see a waterfall. The Meigs Creek Cascade waterfall is a relatively easy hike with a total elevation gain of 738 feet and a total of 3.5 miles out and back. It's not the most spectacular waterfall you can visit in the Smoky Mountains, but it's definitely worth the short hike. The hardest part of the hike is the multiple water crossings, but they really aren't difficult to navigate. There are stepping stones across the creek and the water is very shallow. The trailhead for this hike is at the Sinks. The parking lot for the Sinks is small, so going early might be your best option. We arrived at the parking lot at 7am and there was only one other person there who was fishing. An hour and a half later there was one other small group there to begin the hike. We didn't encounter anyone else on the trail. The Sinks is a busy spot during the summer because people fish and swim there. AllTrails lists the Meigs Creek Trail as a moderate hike.

I'm sorry, but someday Emma will look back at this and think did I ever shut up! Just kidding Emma. We have one of those in our family too. Everyone does. Glad you made it with a little wet feet. That is part of the adventure! Love the Smoky's!
