Daniel Ash was the master of combining atmosphere and melody. In songs like “In The Flat Field” and “She’s In Parties” his guitar absolutely rips and roars while making an actual tune.

She's In Parties - I can picture different rooms at a goth house party in the 80's where some rooms have red lights, some black lights and strobes in the room with the stereo system blaring the music.

I think there are better tones on tail songs that point to eventual love and rockets style like Christian says and ok this is the pops to name a few

Glad you guys enjoyed the varying works of all 3! I love all of it. I was born in the 80s and as a child liked some 80s songs I heard and then grew to hate the horrible 80s pop. As an adult I grew to love the era because I realized there's so much more to it than horrible 80s pop! There's post-punk, goth, punk, and synthpop that I actually love.
Yes we have several up of these guys and have really grown to like them. Funny how our tastes change over the years!

Not the strongest song from tones on tail but still enjoyable.
Most of tones on tail's other material was quite broody electronic music which is quite beautiful. I'd have a look at "Burning Skies", "Twist" and "Movement of fear" for sure.
The evolution of these bands is so much fun to track, and there is the whole Peter Murphy branch that you should also explore.
Particularly the Side project "Dali's Car" he did with fretless bassist Mick Karn from Japan

Excited to see this uploaded on a Saturday night ; I find it interesting how I've gained information about the world sometimes through songs ... Bauhaus was like that for me when I was younger ; songs they made inspired by other artists ... That inspired ME to delve into those inspirations such as the dancer Nijinsky / the poet Baudelaire / British mythology / superstitions .. Yea ... Tones on Tail were just after Bauhauswhere Love & Rockets had a more pop-rock sound ... ( peter murphy went onto Dali's car and solo )

She’s in Parties is my favorite Bauhaus tune as well, for some reason it was my introduction to them, not Bela Lugosis Dead.
You couldn’t avoid Go! by Tones on Tail if you were anywhere near a new wave dance club in the early 80s, as far as the rest of that album did not give it much of a listen. I’m a fan of Love and Rockets so a big fan of All in my mind.
