I bought one about 5 months ago and I also love this cover. I did have a problem with the pen holder at first but it has stretched nicely that I can fit my TWSB Eco pen when it didn't fit before.
Got one a5 size , great quality at a great price with free shipping. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Ordered field notes covers for myself and my kids as well
I have had this cove for 4 months now. The quality is amazing. Mine is developing a nice patina on it. I believe if you wanted larger loops, Popov can accommodate the request. As usual, great review that's spot on!
You really need to stop enabling me Stephen 😊. I've been wanting an A5 cover for my Leuchtturm and this looks perfect, so I ordered one in black. As a plus...it's Canadian. Thanks for a great review.
Of course you can use the cover however you’d like, but I do believe you’re using it backwards. The business card pockets are meant to be at the front. That leaves the slightly larger pen loop at the top for the wider part of the pen. Also, if you get engraving done, the engraving is on the cover with the pockets (I.e. the front) Thank you for the review.
As usual, an informative review, thank you! The notebook looks good, I think. Year before last I met Roger Bello--who is Positve Leathers--at the Miami pen show and asked him to make me a similar notebook cover. Smaller to fit two Goulet Pocket notebooks and the opposing loops to hold it closed are sized to hold a Kaweco Sport. I carry this in a pocket and while I wanted to use the pen to keep it closed, I also wanted to not worry about the pen itself too much, so the Sport seemed to be a good choice. I wouldn't carry any of my fancier or longer pens in the loops but a bigger notebook like this one would probably work just fine with those pens.
Update to previous comment about pen loops. Sent company an inquiry and they responded that they have gone to elastic pen loops because of customer comments. But, they are willing to use leather if customer requests. Two sizes of leather pen loops-regular size that fits ball point pens. Large size that fits fountain pens, such as Pilot Metropolitan. So there you have it. Because these are made to order, we have options!
But the ones on the version Stephen has are clearly leather. I've ordered from Popov before - he can often accommodate requests. He might also be testing leather pen loops, and sent Stephen one as a preview-review.
Hi Steven, it looks nice but the problem is that you write over the edge of the cut leather, you will feel it with the first pages and the last pages. You can also no longer use the elastic band to close the notebook. Gfeller (USA) makes a cover with a solution for both problems. The leather is not varnished and therefore becomes more beautiful every day. I use my notebook every day (the cover since 5 years) and I already know that the cover is for life. I can recommend everyone to take a look to their website.
I have followed your videos for a long time and I really like them I wanted to ask you if you have any experience buying from the fountain pen network website I’m thinking in getting a my first “expensive” pen (used) from there but I would like to have some info about the seriousness of the site thanks and blessings!
Went to the website. They state pen loops are made out of elastic, not leather. I would prefer leather because I doubt elastic would last as long as the cover.
Hey Stephen, or anyone who can help, I'm making this comment in the vague hope you can redirect me: I am trying to find out where I can find some affordable pen options. I know you've reviewed a good number of them and a range of options, but unfortunately you don't tend to label the videos with any price or indicator in the description at least. So I could go through your library again and would be happy to but it would take a long time, and I'm not the one knowledgeable enough to narrow things down. I'm also short on time, this is a gift search, but I've no idea where to look else. Obviously, I could search on stores but I thought I would check here first since I've watched your content a long time and know you give reliable advise and reviews. Im looking for medium sized pens, best would be pistons, maybe eye droppable, and cheaper, about $50~ is my max. Ish. Clearly, a tall order, but I have the vague memory that such things exist. Anyone that can help me, do comment! Thanks.

Stephen, thanks for the review. Great to know that the cover lays flat that is a huge plus.

I ordered mine in English tan a couple days ago. I can’t wait until it gets here!!

Thank you, Stephen. Nice to see Canadian products.
Those loops to close the cover is really clever! Like that.
I just checked their website and the loops on those do seem to be elastic...

Fantastic use of pen loops.
Nice notebook cover - thanks for showing us!!!

which lechturm 1917 is that with the orange pages? Cant find it online
The two loops on the side is also how almost all Hobonichi covers are made.
Yeah, I was surprised when he said he's never seen that before. Hobonichis are everywhere!
Lovely review ... Prefer elastic loops .. the danger of stripping the threading is really high ..but the note book cover is very nice
Thanks to your video, I found the perfect business card wallet! I think they will be getting more of my business.
Thank you!!

I haven't bought there

What’s that green pen?

W. Jochymczyk thanks!
I counted like 7 “that’s what she said” moments
Very nice, and not bad for about $74 U.S.
Just checked their website and these are $94 U.S. Yeah, I dunno ...
