His moves gets really predictable after some practice. I remember thinking that he's really hard and after finally beating him i went into his data fight and beat him with no sweat
You can actually interrupt the move he does with the three big circles on the floor. As soon as he disappears wait at the center of the arena (might require practice to getting used to) also make sure to keep some distance between you and the center. When he is starting to appear, run forward and hit attack to initiate the dash attack, as this is the only move that is fast enough to interrupt him (regular attack is too slow). If you are too close to him, you will initiate a regular attack instead and it will phase through him. If I have to guess, it’s about a 300 ms window, so once you nail the timing, you can stop him from ever using that move until he gets into his final phase.

The middle part actually looks like the hardest part... Thanks for this video. Was good to see what to do if I messed up and got hit. Nice job using the delay in form change to your advantage as well.
Marluxia is just flat out my favorite KH character in general. There's so much more to him than a lot of people like to think. Others who dislike him or don't know him would think he was flamboyant, gay and a pushover because of his love for flowers and pink. The fact he's cool and collected, knows what he wants, gets what he wants without trouble, how he's associated with the Grim Reaper by Japanese standards. His scythe, the blossoms in the wind and the color pink for examples. Not to mention that his power over flowers and plants could honestly be one of the more deadly abilities any of them could have. Would you want to fight someone who could easily poison the air with flower toxins or control throny vines? I wouldn't. Assuming he'd be able to do so. You can extinguish fire, vaporize water, melt ice, etc... But what will you do if the air's been contaminated by toxins from a plant? You can kill it, but the air cannot be purified so easily. Plus, the man's gorgeous. Lmao Ahh, I rant.
For everyone having trouble with this guy i have one piece of advice after he makes the pools there is one of two things he'll do. If he doesn't jump then from the time he makes the pools you have 5 seconds before he comes at you with both explosion trap and a wheel attack at the same time. A guard at exactly 5 seconds after the pools are made will ensure your safety and a chance to attack. Also with experimentation i have learned the pools are made of DARK magic so if your wearing some Dark magic resistance they won't outright kill you at least at my level of 54. It took me two hits of falling into them i had around 20%hp after a hit. I used Quick Run and Guardian Soul key blade and finally beat him. Also on his third stage use quick run right as everything goes dark and he appears on top of you. angle it kind of in a square and the dark magic won't even touch you. Good luck!
This fight was fun on Level 1. Challenging and it admittedly kicked me til I laid on the floor crying in a pool of my own tears at times, but still pretty fun.
The hardest attack to block for me was the one where instead of burrowing "underground" during phase 2 towards Sora, Marluxia simply hops over and starts meleeing him. It always caught me off-guard and I was rarely able to guard it. Oh well, Marluxia's good and dead now...until I fight the data version :D
+99RedRedfake Haha yeah. In another video (by ZSlyer) that player responded to this situation by quick-running across the deadly pools to another side of the arena and evaded the attack that way. Another time when Marluxia unexpectedly did the twirly-windy scythe maneuver that gives you the RC (such technical terms, I know :P) he jumped + aerial dodged to evade that one. So I guess just watch Marluxia closely, and if he doesn't transform into petals, be ready to quick run?? It all happens so fast too.
Yeah, they touched up on some more stuff than just graphics. Like in BBS, Terra's armor after the final fight suddenly grows a cape to look like the Lingering Will more when he didn't grow the cape on the PSP.
I actually went into this fight using Reflect, but after finding it didn't help much on his vacuum scythe attack, I basically gave up using it in favor of standard Guard. Then he was owning me later in the fight at the end of his Grim Reaper phase.... Glad to see Reflect works on that... I'll have to try that now.
I'm talking about the lack of quotes. It's just...lacking. It's hard to explain, but I would've loved to hear some quotes, like "SCATTER TO OBLIVION!!!" or something!
***** To be honest, the whole point of Absent Silhouettes is to not have any form of dialogue, making them essentially "bot-like" in how they approach you. Kinda makes them feel like Sephiroth in the original game, except he had like, 4 lines that he repeated during battle.
The fast movement marluxia uses reminds me of flash steps from bleach which if i'm right sora learns to use this ability at the final fight along with riku.
All the other absent silhouettes had a distinct strategy to win. Vexen was spamming fire and quick run, Zexion was coordinating bursts, Lexeaus was just plain easy..Larexene was to go to a corner then block her attack and counter/merge clones....But this guy has no set strategy. Requires fast reflexes and general skill. Funnest fight ever xD.
The absent silhouettes were pretty easy at mid 40's on crit... guard + growth abilities...My problem with the data battles is the sephiroth level hp and lack of decent damage done to them... anyone got any ideas or should i just make power boosts? Keyblade is ultima weapon
Well what you have to realize is power boosts don't do much 1 at a time and fenrir is a 1 str boost over ultima weapon while lowering your magic by i think 3, in reality you best bet would be yes farm for those items to make def, and str boosts but at the same time lvl is the most important factor for you if skill isn't your primary play style, the data fights are ridiculous on crit mode and rightfully so, work on level and learning the attack patterns of the enemies, block timing on the enemies is crucial, and for enemies like the Lightning bitch, reflect might be your best friend
Chris Milton if you aren't using magic at all its pointless to equip ultima for certain situations. Rumble rose and fenrir would be better because of extra combo boost and the shit ton of damage dishes out after the combo. Just like jow photon is good for if u like spamming thundgara for certain reason like for one of heartless forgot what number I think 6? Oblivion is also good and is in the top 5 keyblades that should be used throughout the game.
Chris Milton also he's using kingdom key because of its critical damage halve passive it gives. Like I said most keyblades are viable for different situations.
I can get to the part where he puts up the dark circles with a full count left, but I cant seem to reliably guard against the vines that circle around Sora during that section
I didn’t know I could use limit form as a defense when it’s first used😂 I had him one hit and I was one it and just spamming reflect praying it would work.. long story short I lost lol
Spent like 4 hours on him on Critical difficulty today. That second phase was a bitch. Great fight. I wondered if Reflect would work on the Thorn debuff but instead decided on Whirligoof limit and the Limit Form Invulerability times.
Do you know if those dark Pools that Marluxia Summons are actually dark elemental? Because if they are, then this fight would be a joke with enough dark resist. Those things do WAAAY too much damage.
This is admittedly my least favourite of the Absent silhouettes. It's that fucking second pattern. Where he suddenly decides to break his own fight's rules and spams neigh insta-death attacks everywhere. Even his 3rd pattern doesn't compare. It's an endurance, but I don't feel completely pummeled against the wall like I do in the second verse with that floor-covering darkness. Helped by the fact that he gives me more windows for Restore count, which is also my biggest window to dish a devestating retaliation.
In phase 2, he always teleports into the center after his revenge value kicks in (for example, you used your two finishers on him). Then you can use fire in the center, which will stun him, and you can combo again.
G Dragon I use it because of its ability, but, when fighting Marluxia it doesn't really have an effect. I just use it because I think it looks cool. I don't really like the other Keyblade designs.
You know for an optional boss, Marluxia actually seems pretty easy to beat. I'm still disappointed they didn't decide to let him reuse his giant mech body.
yeah his little doom counter gimmick sorta works against him most attacks dont do damage and if your high level this shouldnt be a problem i really want marluxia to be in kh 3 but if he is then i expect a much better kit with his abilities

That attack is unguardable.
You have to either use Reflect or Dodge Roll, maybe Quick Run
I kinda wish you were able to fight marluxia in his ship thing too

Come on! OW-WAAAAH OW-WAAAAH OW-WAAAAH OW-WAAAAH OW-WAAAAH OW-WAAAAH OW-WAAAAH OW-WAAAAH
3:53 STOP! STOP! *HE'S ALREADY DEAD!*
The funniest thing I find about it is that Marluxia's AS health and Data boss health don't have that much of a difference.
He does use all of his attacks from the get go though.
For those who care.
My favorite boss
0:56 heard you talkin' shit bout my boss fight in com
What do you get if you battle all 5 anything special?
I battles 4-5 can’t get this one so if I do do you synthesize anything special?
Man you have to really master guard to get through this fight. Too bad that I'm absolute arse at timing it.
Now this is what (1&1/2)’s gameplay should’ve been like. Not stupid cards
this seems like a pro showing off
If you think this is showing off then you haven't seen him defeated on critical at level 1
Not taking anything away from this person though. Beating him on proud mode at level 34 is no easy feat.
When doing the A.S. I completed them in less than two hours for all 13 organization XIII members
I didn’t know I could use limit form as a defense when it’s first used😂 I had him one hit and I was one it and just spamming reflect praying it would work.. long story short I lost lol
honestly i just don't thing i could possibly time my guard good enough to beat this guy
Spent like 4 hours on him on Critical difficulty today. That second phase was a bitch. Great fight. I wondered if Reflect would work on the Thorn debuff but instead decided on Whirligoof limit and the Limit Form Invulerability times.
just wasted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TUTORIAL I BEAT HIM AGTER THREE DAYS OF TEYING I LOVE YOU
I'm glad it helped. Love you too. uwu
by the way FINAL form makes his 3 circle instant kill ground move obsolete
Do you know if those dark Pools that Marluxia Summons are actually dark elemental? Because if they are, then this fight would be a joke with enough dark resist. Those things do WAAAY too much damage.
They're probably Neutral...
2 questions:
1. - Why are you using the Kingdom Key? Why not something stronger?
2. - How is it dealing that much damage?
G Dragon I use it because of its ability, but, when fighting Marluxia it doesn't really have an effect. I just use it because I think it looks cool.
I don't really like the other Keyblade designs.
***** O-o...How do u dislike other keyblades..
Xammed Kain
I think their designs are ugly.
TheAntiVerse So you hate all of them.
TheAntiVerse have u only used just the kingdom key throughout the whole game
You know for an optional boss, Marluxia actually seems pretty easy to beat.
I'm still disappointed they didn't decide to let him reuse his giant mech body.
yeah his little doom counter gimmick sorta works against him most attacks dont do damage and if your high level this shouldnt be a problem i really want marluxia to be in kh 3 but if he is then i expect a much better kit with his abilities
If one manages to avoid maximum data, Vexen can be easy, yet time consuming to beat.
6:15 OG GAMER MOVE.
