  • Planning on getting a roof top tent but confused by all of the different options out there? In this video, I'll run you through the best rooftop tents in Australia (both soft and hard shell), to help you figure out which one is right for you!
    Darche Panorama ► au.campgear.li...
Adventure Kings Roof Top Tent ► ebay.us/GD8DRx
    ARB Simpson III ► au.campgear.li...
    23Zero Dakota 1400 ► au.campgear.li...
Adventure Kings Kwiky Hard Shell ► ebay.us/ztEar7
    Eezi Awn Dart ► au.campgear.li...
James Baroud Grand Raid Evolution ► au.campgear.li...
    Full Comparison ► outdoorexplore...
For soft shells, I think that the Darche Panorama is the best roof top tent in Australia, although the Kings Rooftop Tent is a great option if you are on a budget and still want some decent quality gear.
For hard shell tents, I recommend the Kings Kwiky Rooftop Tent. It's very affordable for a rooftop tent and the new MKII version is free from the case issues that the MKI version had.
Let me know which one you ended up going with in the comments below!
If this video helped you make a decision, please give it a like and subscribe to my channel! Thank you!

The best Hard shell roof top tent is the bush company alpha tent by far. Double canvas, huge opening, two people easily, massive rain fly. Can’t beat it

@Tony F 100% mate. I'm not struggling financially but I just can't see how it can't be such an improvement over say a 2k one. Each to their own though.

Not a bad video but you forgot to mention a few things. I had a ARB Simpson, did not like it at all. The set up time takes forever and the packing down even longer. Had to sit on the tent to be able to close the zip. When I was finished packing it down I had to take a shower covered in sweat. Drove to Cape York, the dust came through the zipper and the tent was covered in red dust.
I suggest to wait, safe the money and buy a top quality rooftop tent. I sold mine and bought the bush company’s new alpha one. Very expensive but don’t regret it at all. In my opinion the best on the market today available.

    Great video and review.
But can you enlighten me on why the ability to store your bedding in your tent when it's closed up, is not a major review point.
Have a smaller 4wd is the main thing I'm looking for, to save space. I've read a lot of reviews by I'm looking to upgrade my rooftop setup.
I see that a lot of people in the comments are asking the same. Is bedding able to stay in once closed.

Do you know which rooftop tent would fit a F56 mini 3 door hardshell?

    Hey man! Good info!
    Good info man, thank you!
I am looking at the 23zero Stealth. As I see it, it is the same as the Dakota 1400, but it packs better, with only 20cm height (not including the ladder). It is a bit pricier though, at $1,6k.
Another one that I just saw, apparently new in the market, is the CANYON OFF-ROAD 2. This one I like a lot, is very similar to the Smittybilt Overlander (I have one, and works great), also the price is quite good.
    All the best!
