I got the 1000 size for panfish fishing with an ultralight rod. It's nice to have the baitfeeder function in a tiny reel. It definitely feels more solid than my 1000 size avenger.
I had issues with line getting caught in the body of the ceymar which Would stop it from spinning properly without anyway of getting the line out of the body of the reel
Hi @joshthedrummerhaynes6870, let me guess. The line got caught under the plastic black cover shield that covers the section of the point where the base of the metal turning knob screws into to Ceymar body. Correct? That has happen to me 3x now. That material cover should be aluminum, or a rigid carbon piece. The plastic cover is just to thin making it pliable. It's a bad place to have a flexible material.
I have contacted Okuma about giving us a loud bait clicker for the bait feeder reels. They would be the perfect catfish reel if they would. They have no intentions of doing so.
Thanks for rhe comparison i have 2 old avengers and will be moving to the ceymar with this information.
Glad you enjoyed
I just got an abf 6000 for catfishing and it has handled some chunky channel cats like a champ so far
Awesome!

👍👍 thanks for watching!
This is a great video, thanks for making it.
Thanks for watching!!
Are the spools identical? Can you use ceymars spool on the avenger and vice versa?
They are not identical. Never tried to switch them out either 🤷
How is the Ceymar holding up?
So far it has been a great reel! No issues.

That's unfortunate! Thanks for watching!

can you use the ceymar in saltwater?
Believe that's what it was designed for but you should check with the manufacturer, okuma 👍. Thanks for watching!
Yes, it's designed for Inshore fishing 🎣
The Ceymar has a metal body, the Avenger graphite. Internally they are about the same. Metal just weighs more.
Ok! Thanks for the input!
The Ceymar is actually a graphite frame reel according to Okuma.
@@306Outdoors I stand corrected.
Have avenger 65 and ceymore 55 the avenger is better for bigger fish. Avenger has zero issues wenching a 50+lb flathead in
👍👍
