For all of you who are tearing down this mother, remember that when you were kids in the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s, and 50s you could walk several blocks from home with just your friends and fear nothing. You, as children and teens, snuck out of your homes to unapproved parties and hangouts, and you told stories of these memories to your kids and grandkids. This generation is too young to understand that sneaking out to get a quick bite to eat or to hang out with friends is too dangerous to do nowadays. Tv shows like Riverdale and Euphoria paint a picture to these children that they'll be fine if they too enjoy their youth by sneaking out. It doesn't matter how good of a parent or child you are if the generations before you and media are teaching our children that sneaking out, partying, doing drugs, drinking, etc. are normal coming of age things to go through and the biggest consequence is maybe a grounding or a spanking. We had plenty close calls with poor teen decision making. Mercifully, we got lucky. That's real life. This poor mom got the worst that can happen. All my heartfelt condolences to the family.

Kids got abducted and attacked, when I was a kid. There was a man who would try to talk kids into getting in his car during school, where I live. One hid in the girl’s bathroom, and they had to do a lockdown, on the upstairs floors, before there were lockdowns. There were no cell phones, and there were child abductions and murders.
