311.. Not only is this song amazing, the entire album is absolutely fantastic. 311 has positioned themselves as their music, timeless! In a music industry filled with Auto-Tune and fabricated stars that can't even write their own material. The evolution of this band is showing the rest of the industry what real talent truly is. 311, you want to get next them!!!! Thank you for all your sacrifices guys and all the absolutely incredible music you provide that is true, heart warming, and authentic. Nobody does it like 311~
there's nothing wrong with using autotune, a lot of artists with amazing voices use it because they like the sound of the effects. Just like 311 uses echos on a lot of their song vocals. It's a matter of preference, but you shouldn't just blindly bash something like that, especially when there a lot of very good songs with autotune
So freaking awesome in a very stoney way... Who's been with them since the beginning, the late 80's/early 90's? They've always been one of my favorites of all time!!!!!
My 1st album was the blue album but then I quickly went to listen to music and grassroots and then I've loved their music ever since, love being apart of the hive!
Nodding my head to this. Loving the dirty guitar and bass sound from Tim and Pnut. Nick and SA's vocals are killer and excellent beat laid down by Chad.
Inspirational, One Love to all my 311 brothers and sisters out there... Cant wait for another Unity Tour this summer, BOSTON LOVES YOU GUYS, 311 for life!!!
I liked Uplifter and UP was okay, but I couldn't be happier over the absence of Bob Rock. I'm loving this jam! I wish Ralston was there all along, but sometimes you don't miss something until it's gone.
I like how motivational the lyrics are in this song. I really love the work of the drummer as well. All the parts really work together. Another thing I'd like to point out is how this song and the last have intros that are like opposites to the verse because they are either super heavy to calm and quite or calm and quite to super heavy. Also great job still kicking ass this late in the career
From what I've heard so far I agree. I'm super excited. If the quality of the rest of the songs holds up to the 3 we've heard so far it's going to easily be the best album since Soundsystem.
I haven't bought an album since self-titled. This album is so fucking good that I bought it after one listen during an epic workout session. Spotify gets the credit there. 3/11 Day was an awesome day this year! If anyone says this album isn't good, they don't know shit. This is top form, great guitar work, the mixing is perfect, and the musicianship is TDF.
I can see this song on a march madness commercial previewing college basketball teams. "looks like we are headed for a showdown". perfect timing at least. Dig it
He wouldn't say he cared at all (if you asked him) you're heading for a fall brotha, (it went right passed him) in anotha world he's in anotha place! you know the need for speed izjust anotha form of greed- but when you're jonesin', your minds frozen... not thinkin bout the choices your makin but just rollin on and ON! IT'S ANYBODY'S GUESS. cause no one's at the wheel of the front of that mess YES!;..
I like Scotch Ralston's take on the album. This album is really mixed well with a lot of attention paid to the instrumental and vocal dynamics, rather than the parsing of songs. Much like Transistor, this is more of an engineer's take on an album than a producer's. I would like to see them bring Scotch back into the studio, along with Rick Rubin, just to see what might happen.
Wow what a nice comeback sa part is otherworldly chad is the supeme drummer the best ive heard the one that inspired 311 has always been a legit group for me.peace/love THE MAJESTIC aka Freeman Standridge
Guys, I just got my copy in the mail because I pre-ordered. I shared the same concerns about it as some of you did. TRUST ME when I say this album is sooo good!!
Who am I kidding.. At first, some of these new songs seemed formulaic and predictable. The songs continue to grow on me, as they always do, whether I liked them or not at first listen. And I also know that this album, along with EVERY 311 album, will be the soundtrack to my whole life!
This album just SOUNDS good doesn't it? Compared to Universal Pulse, the production is so much better, thanks to the return of Scotch. Keep him and drop Feldman please!
Putting down my nostalgic glasses, i think this album is great on the tunes and instruments and the vocals are a lot less forced than previous few albums. What is REALLY bad and ruins it for me is the bloody mixing. I want the instruments in the forefront. The super clean bass and guitar make the songs sound awful. Some of the riffs are old school 311, but sounds nothing so tame because of how they mix it.

Matthew Todd Yes Indeed..~

Matthew Todd Yeah thank you my man.. 311 is the scene no doubt ~
I completely agree with you and I just want to point out this is his opinion if he doesn't like auto tune so what?
So freaking awesome in a very stoney way... Who's been with them since the beginning, the late 80's/early 90's? They've always been one of my favorites of all time!!!!!
So with you on all of that mentioned. "Flowing" has always been my favourite =D

Nodding my head to this. Loving the dirty guitar and bass sound from Tim and Pnut. Nick and SA's vocals are killer and excellent beat laid down by Chad.

THIS is what I've been yearning for from 311 for the longest. Bringing in Scotch Ralston was their best move in a long time and way overdue!!!!
I liked Uplifter and UP was okay, but I couldn't be happier over the absence of Bob Rock. I'm loving this jam! I wish Ralston was there all along, but sometimes you don't miss something until it's gone.
This classic 311. Love this song and already bought the album!! Glad they brought back scotch Ralston!!

This album is gonna own all previous 311 albums of the past 10 years
From what I've heard so far I agree. I'm super excited. If the quality of the rest of the songs holds up to the 3 we've heard so far it's going to easily be the best album since Soundsystem.
Uplifter was a good one.

Jason Vajgrt Uplifter was an entire album of filler. Don't Tread on Me was the only album worth their bones since Soundsystem.

Who am I kidding.. At first, some of these new songs seemed formulaic and predictable. The songs continue to grow on me, as they always do, whether I liked them or not at first listen. And I also know that this album, along with EVERY 311 album, will be the soundtrack to my whole life!
Nice...!

I agree.
I doo miss the voice echos and background sounds.
they got that for us on this album for real! So funky too
+chicagoelectricbicyc I miss when they used to rap in half of the albums.
Uplifter was GREAT. Don't understand the hate. Happy 311 day bros

See bob rock is pissed
HUEUEHUEHUEHUHE BR BR BR BR
Okay I'm old but mixing reggae with heavy metal is an odd mix. Approve of the effort to change things up, though.
Putting down my nostalgic glasses, i think this album is great on the tunes and instruments and the vocals are a lot less forced than previous few albums. What is REALLY bad and ruins it for me is the bloody mixing. I want the instruments in the forefront. The super clean bass and guitar make the songs sound awful. meh
Worst album ever my ears are bleeding.. Someone commented earlier saying they played metal. Hahah they guys are nothing close to metal.
Pretty deep lyrics
