hence why the reliability of money must wither away in time with full automation. When most jobs are taken by machines people will start to seek what they want to do, instead of what they have to do. The free market will not be abolished, machines will not produce what is decided by a governing body, but by the people, thereby simulating a free market (without currency) where the people decide what is being produced, and decide what is being consumed.
@@sahara9430 Doesn’t communism still impore the idea of scarcity and ownership of resources? Ie: The ownership of resources by the state, and not the people. Those resources are distributed equally among everyone, regardless of contribution levels.
The education systems would see a huge difference if money wasn’t an issue. Many teachers love to teach but are limited because of money. This is something that needs to be addressed even in a capitalist society . But in a world without money, we would see tremendous improvements in our educational system.
Our societies are limited by technology, to achieve a society without money in the current day, especially with Capitalism being so prevalent, would undoubtly cause massive famine and social chaos. A Utopian government would surely be a one without money like in Star Trek, but until then here we stand, slowly developing until that day.
I truly believe that if all of my families and my needs are met, I would be so much more involved with society and would go above and beyond with helping fellow man kind. I would truly have a better, different life that would be healthier than now.
Its very difficult to explain these concepts to everyday people and I thought this was a very concise and eloquent presentation. Essentially this is the same futurist vision that Jacque Fresco set out as The Venus Project decades ago. There's needs to be a higher platform that like minded people can voice this message from so that its shared and developed quicker.
A world driven by MOTIVATED BY THE pursuit of PARADISE HEREAFTER THROUGH helping others. That is JIHAD FI SABILILLAH in Islam - struggle/sacrifice in the way of God.
Same here. I'm only sad about still being alone with it in daily life. I have to do some research, where I can connect to others possibliy already living these ideas.
The fact that this video only has a little over 2,000 views and very few comments is an indication that people aren’t ready to move forward with such an idea. If this was a video on Kim Kardashian or JayZ then it would have over a million views and thousands of comments. It’s a shame 😕
Relatively, there isn't that much to say on this topic from those who wholly agree on it. It's either preaching to a choir, or engaging in cheap talk. The views, yes, is a reflection of the lacking popularity of this idea. But this second dawn of man is marvelous on a scale unimagineable by the likes of Kardashianisms. What will get us there isn't banter or blather, but material inevitabilities and realisations, and the shift in human Consciousness.
Ito the mass society it’s all bout spending top dollars. To get away for a while, and impressing everyone else. With your phone videos of who you saw live in concert, or on the sport fields.
Wonderful, I couldn't have put it better myself! For years I've been telling peole we can live without money, I have ideas and dreams about it but I've only ever been laughed at in the face. Thank you, this has given me hope.
Money is just a proxy for resources. I think asking humans to not compete for resources would bear as much success as asking fish or elk to not compete for resources, or mating rights, or territory. We will always compete for these things, hence have money, because this is earth and we’re from here. I don’t believe a single sub species of primate is capable of overcoming mother natures design, she is unconquerable. The systems they are tackling live on top of other systems, biological ones. No problem can be solved unless you tackle its root cause. A moneyless society would only work with unlimited resources evenly distributed to every human being. That would require law of physics defying technology. Supernatural even. But let’s say we did it. I have a machine that make or produce anything. That would destroy us. I think it would destroy any species, but especially us in short order. People would do nothing, it would stagnate our species.
So beautiful, law and economy lower crimes because they determine what we can afford and get away with but then everything lost its value because whoever works to help us be safe will quit their jobs because no one would like to work for free without pay checks our jobs are useless so police, fire dept services, doctors, military will all be shut down. And water, power, gasoline are not free so those would be shut down. The world would like a survival of the fittest scenario and everyone would die because it's not safe and nothing would work. Such a beautiful world
Unfortunately, this system caused food shortages, authoritarian governments and poverty for everybody. They tried this once in the US, people ended up not working and everybody starved.
If a worker spent their life working in a moneyless society, and then wanted to leave the country to live elsewhere, how would they be able to transfer the total sum of everything they'd worked for?
This is the type of world that NEEDS to happen. We shouldn't have our worths decided by paper bills. Without money, we could be free to truly live our best lives and be more emphatic to others.
It’s kind of ironic but the some of the Native Americans tribes lived in a society where currency didn’t exist. The history of Native American and currency is a fascinating one. Many American Indians had quite sophisticated forms of trade and currency, whereas other tribes, such as the Inca in Peru, managed to develop a complex and advanced civilization without money. It wasn’t until the Europeans came and dismantled this way of living.

@lucaboden The irony is that if I will go off grid, I'd still have to pay lots of money for the property. And if I'll just try to live like a hermit in a forest (this is called 'squatting'), I'll get kicked out of the woods by the police for not paying for the property. So yeah, going off grid sounds like a good idea but sadly, I'm not sure if it's gonna work out in a money-driven society.
Absolutely. Money is now the most limiting factor to fulfill our collective human potential and needs to go for us to become a type II civilization. At the root as mentioned is the feeling of indebtedness, giver and receiver. Hard to overcome without seeing oneself as having no self, but maybe there's a way...hopeful.
I just seriously started looking at the matter after learning of a US candidate running for president and UBI is one of his policy. I think UBI will help us transition to a resource base economy.

Hello Jade, My Name is Colin Walpole. I have only just discovered this video, well done and congratulations. In 2017 I wrote and published 'A World without Money or Politicians' and in 2018 'The Lives and Deaths and Terry Toft', a novel set in the future, where there is no money. You can't understand how pleasing it is to know that I'm not alone in my thoughts of a fairer society. I am currently working on another book on the same subject. Thank you.
It, the money mindset, is such a difficult program to break. Too many don't realize it is just that, an outdated, thought process that can easily be broken by just changing our value system.

I knew I wasn’t the only one who thought this way. “Imagine all the people…” It’s so sad to see some comments to keep this current toxic money system going… But it’s encouraging to see that most of the comments agree with this! TEDx Talks… I hope you can be part of a platform for a world without money!
A very good concise talk that really showcases that we don't need to have money in our world and how it would change it on a fundamental level if we stopped trading time for money. Will share this with all of our citizens and supporters to allow everyone to gain better understanding into a money free world. Some of the best 15 minutes you could ever spend getting educated.
Money is a primitive way for society to function. That being said, I do believe it was a necessary part of the evolution in the advancements of industrial, and technological achievements for humanity. Companies have pushed the boundaries in science, and technology to get to a point where we can now explore other planets. Traversing throughout the universe, and colonizing other worlds is when our belief system will evolve into a different way of thinking.
But the competition in between countries are at extreme, building nuclear weapons and funding military is expense and all expenses relating for money system to work can be used to help poverty and bring everyone on same table. There is a big gap between poor and rich, why some have suffer that much and some is allowed to spoil resources for their pleasure? We need peace, love and kindness and we all wants to be better, help our race, help us be better people. I love this idea, I know it will work 💯
SO5 TANI The rich want to control the flow of power, money is a way to do that. It would be impossible for an average person to obtain the wealth, and power of the people who really run this world. We are all ponds in their game, and as long as they have a way to manipulate the masses with money 💰, gold, and any other commodity, the rich will always rule. It would take a massive war to disrupt this system, but will send humanity backwards to go forwards if that make sense.
Oh definitely. When you literally don't have enough to go around, you have to make tough decisions. We weren't global enough and we didn't have enough production. In order to place some kind of agreed value, money was needed as a means of exchange and originally it was probably based on contribution from your job. Though it always seemed arbitrary. Everyone needs food, so "humble farmer" probably should of been one of the more glorified jobs since it pertained to survival of a tribe/nation etc. I actually don't think we'll bother with space travel unless we find a sustainable means to do it. I think instead we'll turn inward and go for actually advanced VR. Why have humans take up so much space if they can live, feel and be in a world of their design? In a house in which they can change the color whenever because the physics laws are different? Space seems vast, empty and not worth it. I think changing to a resource access system of economy (similar to Venus project, but I vouch for people still working and contributing until we have sophisticated enough AI to do menial tasks) My idea would be, you work however many hours needed for a specific sector of production (food, medicine, technology, luxury, entertainment, infrastructure etc etc) you get access. Everyone contributes to a different part, they get access to all the parts. Basically communal, but with a lot more structure and a heck ton of more people working in their sector. Given the sheer amount of able bodies too, you'd also probably not need to even work very long. And no one would own/control the sectors. The plethora of people and the short hours probably would lead to less need of intense oversight. Because the job will not be as in depth. IE say you work in food sector. Which sector of that food sector? Lets say growing. So your job will likely be just plant x amount of seeds in soil. Someone else comes in on the next shift to water and tend for an hour or two and it keeps going until harvesting comes up in which you're welcome to do to if you like, or a different set of people come to do. Your part is intentionally small, both because of the small amount of time needed, but also so that there is less managerial oversight needed. You go home after an hour and then do whatever hobbies you like, spend time with friends, get a health check up, any myriad of things taken because of time spent at work. More people working means less time spent there for everyone. Much like animal farm, minus any overhead to dominate the sector. There is no head of sector. There are hundreds of experts in each one who help decide and train people on how to best do the job they are able to do. This also has a bit of mutual destruction. Say the food sector for some reason calls a strike. You'd have to get thousands and thousands and all food production areas to agree to do so. In which time, food doesn't get made which hurts everyone. You hurt everyone including yourself. I think that's the key to prevent this "me and my own" thinking of production. It also would encourage pride in work because your contribution while small intentionally makes a difference. If you plant the seed wrong or do a shoddy job then you are affected too, because that's your food as well as the worlds that you are helping plant. You might still get some people who are "lazy" but there are so many people who would gladly work a few hours a day or less even to make sure food production happens for everyone including themselves and their social circle. People want to feel useful to their tribe. So make the tribe the world and the self, have people in a structure where they are valued because they contribute. Then everyone can go home and contribute more through hobbies, self-expression, discussions and whatever else they actually want to do. Plenty of people will work because it feels nice to do so. If anything, there might be a problem of not everyone having to work at which point people will find other ways to contribute.
People will always look for something in return to what they're doing… but in a sane environment, that something will be the joy that they feel when doing it.
For those interested, this person is practically explaining communist and/or anarchist theory. Moneylessness, workplace democracy, syndicates, communal ownership, labor theory of value, etc.
It's simple to understand, we as world civilization could get more advanced way faster than we are right now. We would be more focused on bettering ourselves and our world, leading to undeniable deep space exploration and colonization.
@Bobby Yeck That is because we all exist within a Monetary system. Which, btw will end itself. You cannot have *indefinite growth upon a finite planet.* Automation shall eventually replace all human intervention, they won't get paid, no one has purchasing power to BUY those automated goods; the system stops! However you spin it.. there is no profit in making peace on earth, allowing people access to goods like you said, & that will not change in a Monetary system. I know its hard to envision something so different, but I'd like you to humour me! lol I know I am asking a lot from you, but change is very apparent & we haven't got much time =(
I've travelled to the remote islands of Papua New Guinea. These people live quite happily without money. I sat watching the children playing around in the sea and thought how they looked happy and content. On a couple of occasions I gave away some cigarettes that they were keen to try. I gave 1 man 3 smokes. Instead of keeping them all for himself he eagerly gave 2 to his friends. 2 young guys asked for cigarettes, I only had one left in the packet which I gave to 1 of them. Straight away he snapped it in 2 to share with his friend. Does money promote greed?

What an inspiring talk. I think about this a lot. But have difficulties theorising about how society could get there. The thing is that many countries would have to make the transition at the same time, kind of like uniting their governments, because some countries depend on material that are only extracted in other countries (food, oil, minerals, etc.). This way, if only one country tried to make this transition internally, it would have problems to import materials it do not have, since it could not buy it without money. However, if many countries did an agreement to make this transition, they could exchange materials each other produced. I live in Brazil and we could probably make this transition alone for a start, since we have plenty of food, oil and minerals. However, we do not have much industries to process all of it and make the final products we need, this industries would have to be implemented firstly. One suggestion I can think of would be to create a UN agency for discussing this matter with scholars from several countries, maybe one day they could get to a point where it could become a reality.
i think it's all start in our hearts , the will to help each other and being kind to everyone , and learn to live a modestly lifestyle without being greedy to others.
Yes, exactly. And they still are, but are being systematically wiped out 😩 We need to help them to survive on their lands. Look up Survival International.
I just want to live in a world where people can live happily, getting laid, playing games, being imaginative and creative, making merry, no money required. Besides I think money is one of the things that drive the world insane.
happily marrried, contributing to improve evryones quality of life, having fun, and being kind and helpful to everyone equally. love diffuses hate. give the thief money and he will stop stealing.
This is too much for the reality. I don't even see a sign of feasibility for that. How? At least how can we get closer to that? It's beyond even my imagination for that to be practical. 😐
The summative question postulated at around time index 14:04, the answer to which must be 'Yes'. Wouldn't a world without money make more sense? This is a great TEDx talk. Really worth circulating.
This totally makes sense! Also from an technologically perspective this is absolutely useful. Considering the open source trend and all of the underpaid developers and researchers in different areas which would be supported by this idea. Those guys actually run our whole world based on linux etc. There would be much more of them because they would not have to fear to change the job or something. And this would also accelerate the technology even more (and there is so much going on at the moment!) to produce even more resources. This would lead to a society only with one government which could move all our actions in a useful direction for the humanity itself - climate change, world hunger or destroying of animal habitats. We could still compete in how much we contribute to the society. With this we could support everybody on this planet in basic needs FOREVER. Love you all
I searched on RUclips hoping to see if someone shared a similar view to me. It’s lovely to hear him mentioning about TIME - I think more to be thought about but a future where TIME is the currency. You have a certain amount of time you must give back to the society. Because passion and love is the driving force for what you do to see pleasure in others. In part people certainly think corruption is likely from this. Maybe far future where robotics can be used to identify corruption in this process.
We may have to go this direction soon, since everyone is becoming unemployed and you can't sell things if there are no longer any customers with money to buy it.
It’s been hard to get a job, and I’m sick of it. I don’t want to have to get one just because it’s expected of us because of paper and medal. Enough is enough.
The fact that people feel there will be 0 development if the concept of money was removed is bizarre. I don't believe Alexander Graham Bell the inventor of telephone invented, and worked inorder to get 2 millions dollars, it was sheer passion. Imagine a world where basic health care, shelter is provided to everyone, where money isnt the term used to judge the quality of an act. Where people will solely follow they passion, to give back to the society. The unity which will be created amongst, the power each and every person will hold. If only the human kind was disciplined enough, the theory can come to alive.
Not 0 but it would be reduced dramatically. There are people capable of inventing incredible things by themselves. But in most cases inventions are the result of the cooperation of a large group of people. It's usually a long and hard process for every part involved. There are many struggles, fights, disagreements along the way until the goal is achieved. Money forces us to get along, it forces us to sacrifice some things to get other things in return. If people didn't any real need that forces them to stick with something, then most people will quit. The end result is isolation.
it sounds like you're describing Earth in the Star Trek world... I have always been fascinated with the idea other world without money... like Seth MacFarlane said in an episode of the Orville we all do better when we all do better... but the discipline that would be required for this to work successfully does not yet exist if human beings largely... I think the human race has a lot of evolving to do before it's ready for this type of philosophy....
@@bowleggedbear I don't believe there are any... I don't believe this type of government would be sustainable with our current level of Technology. Maybe in a couple hundred years.
@@ennen1701 Can't be any, because you need ressource to operate. Unless you produce something to export and then use the currency of the outside world to import. But that mean not only you need to produce enough to be able to import the minimum required, but that mean also people would have to work and obviously you need to remove the "volunteer" thing.
@@ennen1701 We definitely have the technology today to do most of this and the rapidly advancing technology to get to that 'Star Trek'-like world in 5-10 years from now, IF we all worked towards that goal. Of course, that is the major barrier to overcome - the no-money world mindset. We have all been brought up in a world run by money so very few of us are able to think outside the box of how we could live better and more sustainable without it. Many Western countries already over produce the basic needs of life: food, shelter, water, etc. There are not any real world practical examples of how this could work today, but there are, as the OP noted some examples in TV/film like Star Trek or The Orville. I think that a more straight-forward film that is more relatable to current times that shows people living in a no-money society would be beneficial. Also, a major simulation video or interactive game that allows people to really see what could be accomplished if we remove the shackles that our money-based world puts us in. The last thing I would say is that a transition to a new no-money system would be easy, probably one of the hardest things to do. But, the facts are that we have the technology to do it! You couldn't say that 100+ years ago, but we do have science and technology on our side now - if we finally want to use it for good, rather than dropping bombs on each other.
Could it be that this discipline does not exist mainly because money exists? Our ancestors worked without money, most of us would perhaps not work without money because we have been conditioned to only be willing to work if we receive money in return. Take this conditioning away from the next generation and it could work. I think luxury products, status symbols, greed, theft, hoarding and even marketing/commercials would not exist if there was no money. Greed creates the incentive to increase profits through marketing. Marketing creates artificial demand. Nobody would want 3 smarthphones or a new smartphone every year. We'd just create the most durable and useful phone we could and we'd likely all have the same one. Imho there are lots of things that merely exist exactly because money exists.
I really would like to. Do you have an idea of How and Where? I don't know people with the same idea and I don't know how to find and connect to such people. Because there ARE such people. If we want to change something, we have to be connected.
@@Frei_Raum i agree that we have to be connected cuz a human as an individuel is very limited but united that can creat serious changes but people forget that we have the greatest invention in our pockets social media has the ability to connect with anyone in seconds but we need a leaders like malcolm x and martin luther which is something our generation lacks
I'm fully on board, but I think if we're going to change the system to a moneyless one, we have a responsibility to start acting like money isn't important. That means quitting our jobs if we don't love them (disregarding the income entirely), throwing away our money and letting our bank accounts starve, and providing goods and services to others, for free, without expectation of any sort of exchange. Our consumption and survival will be at the mercy of other peoples' kind-heartedness (rather than our own money). That's a radical first step that most people aren't willing to take.
@@godnotavailable2094 man that's what I'm saying...if i quit med school because it sucks..my parents are gonna kill me (my fearful mind wonders)...but maybe...hmm that's a good idea.
Ok, I'm game. Funny, in my recent radical change of consciousness (spiritual awakening, enlightenment, eradicating my false sense of self, etc.. (There are many names for this.)), Life has become so unbelievably simple. With no fear and no desire, no more judging or needing to be right..., all I need is simple food and shelter and... Well, in short, I now live more like every other animal on the planet and the universe seems to be providing everything I need. So a world without money sounds perfectly natural to me. So, ya...where do I sign up? lol
Useful long-lasting processes, complex calculations, or predictions that help survive, sustain, and innovate are never thought of by other people or forgotten. Personal interests become harmful to others. I wish you all eager to build and not to harm
i love how he talks about marxist economics without saying marxism. like classes, formula of capital kind of. abolish exchange. (abolish private property and put personal property as for primary.) overproduction crisis. falling rate of profit. talks a bit about utopian and scientific socialism.
If he would just address netflix bingeing, video games, and just general exploitation of the system, when stating work would be voluntary this would be 100% complete
AI technology is accelerating and already threatening they way society functions. For example, AI Art is extremely advanced now to the point it jeopardize artists careers. I believe this is just a prelude to what will happen to most jobs. Blue-collar jobs like grocery worker, cashier, cleaner, etc will be performed by AI and automation very soon. Perhaps even in 10 years considering how fast AI technology is evolving. Millions of people may not have jobs or money to survive anymore. We do need to rethink about how we structure society because we are running into a wall. Their is already many flaws with how this society with money functions, poisoning our water for profit, violence from poverty, exploiting workers, greed, etc. I am open to the idea of a moneyless society. I hope we can achieve something of this nature.
If the masses had the courage to implement this, 95% of crime would vanish over night. Sadly, I think such a simple yet highly effective notion is still many generations away.
I want to live in a world without money. I also want to live on a ten acre plot of land in a well-built house. In a world without money, how do I go from being landless to being a landowner? How do I attract skilled contractors to build my house, as opposed to less skilled people? I want to live in a world without money but I need concrete examples of how things like this would work in practice.
First of all, thank uu for sharing that thought. Great question. I've got a pretty good idea of how that would work. Now Daniel, imagine a world in which money was no longer the form of reward...cause that's all money is right? A form of reward? In my proposed imaginary world, everybody would get everything for free (i mean food, healthcare, shelter, everything). The world would continue to operate just the same as the one we currently live in. The only difference would be that money is no longer the form of reward. So then, what will be the new reward for doing work? Well, it'll be free access to all that uu currently purchase with money (food, shelter, etc). I'll use an example which i hope can clarify all of the above. Let's say I'm a teacher. In such a world/system, I'll offer my services for free. That is, teach kids free of charge. How do I expect to get paid? Well if I'm able to get food for free, then that's my reward. Who then pays the farmer? It'll be the doctor who provides him with free health service. Who pays the doctor, It'll be the contractor who builds his home free of charge. Who pays the contractor? It'll be me who teaches his kids for free. Are uu seeing the cycle now? Everybody continues doing what they love and in turn, services become free and nobody's left out of the equation unlike the system we currently have. For this to work, there has to be some prerequisites ofc. 1. Everybody has to be genuinely 'good'. This system cannot survive if we still have greedy people. It'll only work if everybody's okay with being equal. If everyone can acknowledge that being equal isn't such a bad thing, then the system should work. 2. Everybody has to participate. I mean uu cant expect to get free services while not contributing to society. If the farmer decides not to work, the whole system crashes bcoz the doctor/contractor won't work either. 3. The population should be monitored one way or another. We cannot put a strain on natural resources. That's the basic gist of it. Lemme know what uu think. In ur case specifically, in my proposed system, uu can only get that 10 acre plot provided everyone else can get it too. The house will be effortlessly built for uu. All uu have to do is provide a free service too. That way, the contractors and everybody involved will also benefit from the cycle of free services. One last thing, how is this system any different from the one we have? It's different bcoz there's no longer any money involved...along with the countless bad things that happen bcoz of it.
First you gotta do away with the "less" and "owner" dichotomy. In a moneyless system, you would be a land utilizer, steward, or part of a group of people who are on the same wavelength with your ideas for that 10 acre plot. Moneyless ways seem to have people be more eusocial than individualistic. As far as people building your things with the proper skills....either educate yourself on the how to, or educate others in the same way you would for yourself. Knowledge can be passed on, people learn by example and practice
Saving this one for sure. To be honest. It's probably inevitable, even if you compare money based society with moneyless society. We will probably advance and be greatly enriched as popularity of moneyless concepts grow and affect our lives. The hard part is trying something new.
Now is the chance. If we can take down the government in these times where civil war is already a serious threat then we can transform our society. Freedom will have a whole new meaning and our country as a whole will rocket into the future and progress faster than ever before. The innovation from the new found passion that currency has held prisoner for so long will be amazing and beautiful.
I had to google to find this talk because each time I try to have this conversation with people to exchange ideas, I get immediately shut down and dismissed. People love their toys and the system of being controlled by money for some strange reason. I think it comes from feeling helpless because it has been, as the speaker said, a system of exchange from as far back as we are aware of. A money-less system requires, compassion, cooperation and a sense of unity and desire for the common good of all. Governments systems as they exist today cannot function. They have created borders to lands they did not and cannot create but took by force. Bit by bit in efforts to control the “other.” For a money-less system the greed and desire power over others needs to be satiated by the a sense of authentic stewardship and love. Blessings to all. I hope one day we can live in world with that type of loving energy to redefine what the word humanity means.
Everyone is equally important in this world but, the money system stops it from happening so the sooner the better for mankind to truly evolve to the net level - Cheers!
Well said. I love the idea of it. It would give us more time with family and our love lives would be bonded stronger if there was no worries of money. We would also be kinder to one another. This goes so much more deeper. I’m happy to have taken time out to watch all the way from NEW YORK CITY 🌃
RUclips didn't recommend me this, I searched for it. I am glad that I am not alone with the thoughts. On the other hand I believe if everything is controlled by AI and Robots producing food, clothing and shelter, we human will start to live a world without needing any money!
A world without money could be better than the present mess, but how do we get there? What actions will ensure it? I think we need to use what we have in the present system. We have to use the present system itself because it is what we have available to us. There is no moneyless country we can move to. So make your plans based on what you have. That is what I am doing. I have accumulated various assets over the decades and I aim to use them to get more as a group than I can on my own. I think it is possible for a transition group to grow exponentially very quickly if it uses money judiciously. I think it should be possible to double the number of members every year. If it can also double the number or value of assets every year then the sky is the limit. It is assets like land and properties and businesses that count more than money itself. Money acts as an enabler (after taxes). As the group makes money and buys assets, it becomes more attractive (all else being equal). A group with land and labour and income can grow its own food and get the rest of the things it needs from its multiplicity of businesses.
Thats the thing. Anytime something external motivates. If taken away it will destroy you. So money can not be the most important thing in your life. Abundance should be imo. Let everything come from a spirit of abundance.
The first step is to give the power back to the people and take it away from the governments, money corrupts. Then maybe we could see that utopian society. Love and peace to all.

I love this idea, I know it will work 💯
lucaboden yeah rocket ships are built with $100,000 bills so I guess you are correct
I think changing to a resource access system of economy (similar to Venus project, but I vouch for people still working and contributing until we have sophisticated enough AI to do menial tasks)
My idea would be, you work however many hours needed for a specific sector of production (food, medicine, technology, luxury, entertainment, infrastructure etc etc) you get access.
How can i ensure that this video gains millions of views?
Yes, because it sure deserves it!
I also came with the same thought and it connected my thoughts when I heard this talk.
It's simple to understand, we as world civilization could get more advanced way faster than we are right now. We would be more focused on bettering ourselves and our world, leading to undeniable deep space exploration and colonization.

Tama. Isipin mo na lang, we work for humanity and what it need and get all what we need equally.

Love you all
Humans could be so much more without money
I searched on RUclips hoping to see if someone shared a similar view to me. It’s lovely to hear him mentioning about TIME - I think more to be thought about but a future where TIME is the currency. You have a certain amount of time you must give back to the society. Because passion and love is the driving force for what you do to see pleasure in others. In part people certainly think corruption is likely from this. Maybe far future where robotics can be used to identify corruption in this process.
Scarcity, competition, self interest,Love and passion for work.
I'm surprised he didn't mention Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It would neatly explain what is it that we really need first.
Exactly what i was thinking too.
The end result is isolation.
this needs far more views.
Because of war and strife, the Victor has always portrayed "his story".There is no doubt in my mind that a world without money can exist.

it sounds like you're describing Earth in the Star Trek world...
I think we need practical examples of this philosophy in action.
It IS time. Let's make this happen people!
So, ya...where do I sign up? lol
This is THE greatest video I have ever watched
Useful long-lasting processes, complex calculations, or predictions that help survive, sustain, and innovate are never thought of by other people or forgotten. Personal interests become harmful to others. I wish you all eager to build and not to harm
i love how he talks about marxist economics without saying marxism.
like classes, formula of capital kind of. abolish exchange. (abolish private property and put personal property as for primary.) overproduction crisis. falling rate of profit.
talks a bit about utopian and scientific socialism.
The world will keep resetting until we get this right. All it takes is a natural disaster or two to remove all that you think you own.
I've talked about this for years... I thought I made it up myself. It's like they say, "great minds think alike."
we NEED this !
Most relevant video on RUclips....amongst the most relevant
Watch The Zeitgeist Movement Moving Forward documentary!
Is it on Netflix?
@@eugenia6356 No unfortunately. Its on RUclips though.
Finally! Thank you for putting it into sound.
Yes. It's confusing and difficult to achieve... 😐

I couldn't have said it better. You are 100% correct. People are addicted to superficial superiority.
Everyone is equally important in this world but, the money system stops it from happening so the sooner the better for mankind to truly evolve to the net level - Cheers!
This would take humanity to the stars.
Imagine the space industry without the limitation of money
Ressource Based Economy, Venus Project. Thumbs up ! Not perfect, just far much better than what we have today... Thank you Jacques Fresco.
Or communism, which can work with the same premise.
This only can be achieved educating people....
We need young people, parents, teachers and employers to get into this.
I am none of those, yet i have wanted to do this since 2010 😄
A world without money could be better than the present mess, but how do we get there?
Amazing talk. Thank you! It deserves as many views as Ken Robinsons talk on schools and creativity.
Thats the thing. Anytime something external motivates. If taken away it will destroy you.
So money can not be the most important thing in your life. Abundance should be imo.
Let everything come from a spirit of abundance.
Yesss! Well explained!!! Let us spread this idea!
The first step is to give the power back to the people and take it away from the governments, money corrupts. Then maybe we could see that utopian society. Love and peace to all.
Nope we need AI leaders that dont need money nor have self
@@sahinyasar9119 AI? Robots? At the end of the day, those things are programmed meaning somebody is still behind the wheel. Robots are not "self aware", that's a lie. All I'm saying is, just bcoz the people in charge now have robots as representatives, does not at all mean change has occured.
Because the world is complex and full of complementary opposites Both and More is a Useful Frame of Reference. Also Transcend and Include. As pertains your TED Talk Jade the appeal to get beyond competitive behaviors is probably very unlikely in the short term and possibly not even desirable? So accepting that some level of competition is built into our current scenario we design for that in mind.
The problem I have with this: He says gov't should meet our needs. Gov't can't even do basic things adequately, and wastes resources at a staggering scale. I don't trust them to meet my needs. In light of this how do we meet them?
Mutual aid, a wise community, an interconnected gathering of knowledge and skills; people willing to teach, learn, and share
@@enneaf1676 That's not the gov't. And people have to be willing to do that. Many aren't. But for those that are, this is ideal.
It's funny, I can't think of an aspect of our society that would diminish if this was applied. I have often thought about this, and I think it is definitely the future

Strange. I thought communism was merely a branch of capitalism. Where they use ... money!
So anarchy?

7:02 people who donate to charity are usually rich and are just doing it out of obligation so they look good to the masses. The common people who donate to charity usually do it cuz they have too much stuff they don’t use anymore and want to get rid of it. Hardly anyone volunteers or gives without getting something in return. People usually do volunteer work so they can put it on their resume, for eventual PAID work.
