    It’s unbelievable when you think that if, the 22K people that have watched this video, were to get together we could all start this system for ourselves. Then, when other people see how this well this system works, will join us. Eventually we would be able to turn our world into great abundance. Jacque Fresco, rest his soul, gave his entire life to this system and we as a planetary community could put his ideas to practice so his life would have been for good. Jacque will one day be the greatest hero known to humanity.

Similarly it would take money and specialized skill with technology to create a resource based economy. I do support the idea tho and would like to be part of the solution

      Any updates on your progress? The way I see it after ten years of following TVP/TZM as well as suffering through this capitalistic captivity, I've determined that if you want to provide an alternative, you must get billions of earthlings to indirectly pay for it by selling something unrelated and profit motivated. Get the credibility of being the creator of the one thing everybody can not live without and tell them you have something else to sell. Think of Zukks and facebook. If Zukks promotes a new Facebook brand, what will everybody do? Subscribe to the new social media website or try a new social media website nobody has ever heard of before?

    Absolutely true on all counts. Thanks for bringing this to light. A Resource Based Economy is inevitable. The aims and proposals of The Venus Project are realistic and must be looked at carefully and implemented. The monetary system is old and can no longer cope with today's technological advancement. The current economic module is also outdated and has no resilience against this pandemic for example. We must be brave and dream bigger, for a world where all the resources are declared the common heritage of mankind. No poverty, no politics and no wars.

    Reading some comments, it looks like some people think that it is a fight againt the current system. Its not, its just a better option to live, using the current resources.
    So, its useless to fight, trying to put our opinion. Instead, the RBE is an option, which is outside the box, and viable.
    So we need contribution, collaboration to extend this ideias or create new ones aligned to real resources towards an improving quality of life, globally of course.
    In other words, it is useless to be aggressive, so if we are proposing a transition from a "cart wain" to "electric train", dont try to argue using elements from the old paradigm, like horseshoe, horses or excrements, because doesnt make any sense. It is a change that will emerge from society, so we need all of you.
    And lets remember that, from the nature point of view, we are all the same, even being different ( very special ).

    Many people wondering HOW we get there in the comments.
    Even Jacque himself said he could not elaborate on that because he would need to know exactly "when" it were to happen. And it would depend on several things:
    1. How many people from different countries were willing - the more people, the easier it shall be.
    2. The level of intelligence at that time - Right now, the planet is in denial. We need to get smart & quick.
    3. The resistance of the bigots - the people in power right now would most likely trigger a war than to give it up.
    4. The Level of Technology - Technology could offer tremendous advantages in relatively short time.
    5. The quantity of Resources available - No stone or metal can be spared if we are to make a go of this.
    6. Skilled Personnel - Everyone can learn & are welcome but we require the worlds leading structural engineers.
    7. Location - This is important because building a VP city in the Dessert would add to the initial challenge.
    We can get there. There is a logical path, & even mistakes are considered a breakthrough in the Scientific field - getting us that bit closer to our goal.
    Keep talking people. We don't have much time to do this.

      It's not beneficial either to make a comment like this, one part of the path towards a sustainable society is to put the responsibility of thinking in the invidual. It is not about pleasing, asking or telling anyone what to do or how to behave, it's about posing an alternative and letting people realize themselves which decisions to make.

It should be an open source project, welcoming any new and great ideas from all over the world, rather than putting Jacque Fresco on a pedestal. This project is the culmination of all the emerging innovative ideas and there're lots of brilliant minds whose ideas deserve to be taken into attention and incorporated into the project. I think it should be titled something as "sustainable planet" open source project.

    Danil, Fresco himself says that his designs are not THE designs, they are just examples, that his concept is a starting point. And he also says the designs are supposed to be modular and highly customizable to any individual's needs. Of course, any other designs that fit the requirements of being energy-efficient, eco-friendly, offer maximum safety againsy any natural hazards etc. are absolutely acceptable. He doesn't say his way is the only way, he says an RBE is the only way.

    Excellent presentation of the RBE. I really liked Sue's delivery, unfortunately JF is too old to do this any longer. Peter Joseph gives a more intellectual and thorough analysis but this hits an easy to understand and maybe warmer spot. I think we see so many negative images of what we are doing to ourselves and the planet that a more positive take like this may be more powerful for change.
    Unfortunately the 1% aren't going to change any time soon, they don't need to from their perspective, and they control the media for the most part. If we actually could start talking about an RBE in the mainstream I'm sure it would rapidly gain ground. The problem is that it is not in the interest of the corporatocracy that currently runs the show. Therein is the dilemma - exposure.

    • @IamNeighborlee
      @IamNeighborlee 5 лет назад

      Well imagine if the media, who OWN the airwaves overall, talked about, actually put some merit behind it, and offered it 'more exposure', but thats just it isn't it, if they don't , which I"ve yet to hear from any media source but youtube, more and more, then too few know about this, or even think about it as too many are too busy keeping a roof over their head, working day to day , to them its quasai normal.
      Another thing, we can share on twitter, but unless your visibility is VERY high, then your word doesn't get out there either ;)
      It needs to be covered by the media, on TV and we'd stand a much better chance of delivery to those whom vote. A natiional discussion via town halls, live debates like we get every four years would also help.
      The idea is, no noe can argue the current system works for all,therefore given injustice occurs so rampantly, there is a nightmarish threat to justice, everywhere.
      We'lll get there, but small voices who share aren't enough to catch the heart of America who are too busy . More sharing, medica coverage etal

    I love the idea and it is not impossible as people are quick to say but implementation is extremely complex.
    No one is going to down everything and just start doing it. Small scale is the key here, building a micro sized city (toy sized model) to represent those pictures shown and demonstrate how a computer can control what we need to satisfy basic needs such as food production, water treatment and transportation. After that add other needs like production of things we need
    If you can successfully build a micro sized functioning system that physically carries out all these things you say maybe people will be more willing to entertain the idea rather than dismiss it upon hearing it.

      The federation did not use money on earth:
      en.memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Money
      Money in the 21st century sense was not used on 24th century Earth. The exact nature of the Federation economy is difficult to describe; while money had not entirely ceased to exist, it did not play the central role in the lives of Federation and Earth citizens that it once did.

    I love the idea of the venus project. My problem is timing. Will we force to the transition when we are at an advance stage of global warming. The transition from neoliberal capitalism to a resource base economy. How do we eliminate a system oligarchies and institutions systems and governments who are complicit would rather see short term profit gains over the destruction of the species? And may alternatively find ways to try and absorb resource base economy system model in a capitalist system in a sort of dystopian society. And lastly, the people who will invented the new technologies for the resource base economy. How do we prevent power structures from forming from our cultural conditioning?

    Science and technology can disconnect money from human consciousness, and every aspect of human behavior will change. Spiritualists, that is how we apply true enlightenment. We do it through science and build a world where the self-improvement of consciousness is no longer the major idea because the systems we live offer that in abundance. We could say, the systems do not drag our consciousness down into the gutter of money. Our collective consciousness improves together and at a faster rate than the individual approach of improving consciousness.

    Saying that money is merely a medium of exchange and then go from that to say that money-based systems are evil (structural violence), that is to imply that voluntary exchange is evil. No one ever says this explicitly because it's completely ridiculous, but that is the logical conclusion of this kind of thinking.
    Please learn some basic economics before you make such claims.

    • @katherandefy
      @katherandefy 4 года назад

      Kevin Beal it used to be that people brought resources physically themselves and in order to survive they used money as a way to make up for the loss in resource once those resources are delivered. The Venus Project’s concept of a resource based economy is that the process of distributing resources can be (and increasingly already is being) done by automation, including transporting. This is a very recent development.
      Structural violence is a problem baked into the old system because anyone without a resource or enough money is outside the sphere that allows for participation in the monetary system. All the ways into that system other than charity involve human rights violations. For instance, public poor relief programs are notorious for housing inspections, privacy infringements, and work/income limits all of which systemically keep the poor impoverished.

    Federal reserve notes are created from debt and used to steal from the poor. It's value is in the fact that everyone is forced to use it.
    Bitcoin (for example) is not based on debt, steals from no one, has genuine value and is money. It enhances the lives of the people who use it.
    Both are (strictly speaking) technologies.

Erratic producers like Wildpoldsried put a strain on the grid that depends on regulated dispatchable electricity.

    • @nathansmith3244
      @nathansmith3244 8 лет назад

      it is achievable but must be scaled up and don't very efficiently. What resources does that country have? Glass? Plastic? Iron? Salt from the ocean? You make a complex detailed inventory, then set a number of scientist to work using only the products they have readily available. I personally would start work on huge vertical greenhouses on the southwest sides of all large buildings, I would also start building geothermal and huge factories to be converted to fully automated factories. Get to work on bots. Bots that learn simple tasks. Break everything down. Also build tons of bots that make bots. A robot the size of a car welder making 100 people sized bots, and in turn those people size bots making 100 small dog sized. Those need to run on electric, and they need to be solar and wind powered. Not fast either. If they make one bot a day your on a good path. Cause in a week you have 5 people size and 10 dog size bots. in one week. Now one month from then you have enough to run one whole factory. in a year enough to run the entire process. Those bots might do things as simple as fold a Tee shirt, or move Tee shirt from pile a to b, or put car tire on and tighten bolt. Another passes the tire from the flat truck to to bot that puts it on. Break every step down. They can work 24/7 and when one breaks down a bot removes it from the line and repairs it. or recycles it. A program monitors every moment for flaws. errors in movement or changes in friction or speed occur that bot is pulled off. It constantly replaces parts

And it would be a great way to actually live democratically instead of greedily and under the almighty corporation. But I agree that it will take great coordination and planning. I hope someone is working on it. At first, it will mean money. And the economic screwup that is the pandemic means that we need a resource based economy now more than even. It never crossed the mind of any of those systems' original advocates that we live on a planet with finite resources. Not to mention people in communism still had to work jobs, the mundane repetitive tasks of todays labor are generators of laziness not resolvers of it.

    What would u do if u didn't have to work for money, if all your basic needs were met and would be your birth right? I guess you would probably do the stuff u enjoy most, take care of your health, travel, and just enjoy your life. What's the greater incentive for a person to do something he enjoys other than his true passion for it? So how is this similar to commusist economy? And how about questioning what you read and the authors of those books rather than taking their words at a face value?

    Maybe I didn't make myself clear, I understand that it preaches a scientific foundation, BUT, RBD economic theory lacks of scientific foundation itself. It is a bit more complicated than just say that a computer will do everything for us, we need to elaborate on how the process will be with numbers and clear strategies. And I say WE because I support this movement, but this movement must be scintific from the beginning than a political movement which is what I've seen so far.

    Those _resources_ are required, not money. You can borrow, trade, whatever you voluntarily arrange with other people. Money just so happens to be the most convenient way of doing this.
    Money is absolutely abused when it's the hands of a violent monopoly, absolutely. I don't want that _either_. A group that produces a currency has to be accountable to it's customers.
    Please, please stop conflating what we have now with what we _could_ have. It's going to make you a better debater too.
