I was diagnosed with cataracts a few years ago when I was 37. It started about a year earlier with my left eye changing from -8 to -6 requiring a replacement lens in my glasses. In the last few months prior to cataract surgery, my vision started with seeing halos and glare from lights, followed by fogging up like a cold car windshield. From discussing potential causes with the surgeon, the suspect cause was the long term use of a potent topical steroid. My fingers used to get covered in small water blisters, which the steroid ointment would temporarily clear. I eventually found the culprit to anything containing whey protein, such as milk, cream and milk chocolate, but too late for the cataracts.
I went with EDOF toric IOLs for the surgery, which despite the hefty premium (not covered by health insurance) gave me enough reading vision to not need glasses other than for fineprint. I recently developed posterior capsule opacification (vision getting hazy and blurry close-up) and currently waiting for an appointment for YAG laser treatment.

My ophthalmologist and many other eye doctors have said that everyone gets cataracts - and you will have cataract removal if you live long enough. I was an avid wearer of eye protection from UV light - I wore specific wrap around sunglasses even when it wasn't sunny. I do not agree that not everyone gets them - unless of course, you pass away earlier than 60-80 years old.

Why has no one developed eye drops to eliminate cataracts? I don't like any surgery. And, wait 'til you read the WAIVER the eye Dr will mandate you sign if you wish them to do this surgery. The Dr wants you to agree to No Accountability from them if something in/from surgery goes wrong. Geez how is this OK!!

What is good for arthritis and inflammation

There are others that can tell you more specific things to eat if that’s what you mean. There are lots of foods that are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties, so do look into that and antioxidants too. Also, I’ve had several patients with arthritis tell me over the years that wearing magnetic and copper bracelets have made a big difference to their arthritis symptoms.

I hate to say it but eliminate meat, dairy, eggs and fish. Yep! Science has shown these are highly inflammatory.
