Beautiful car. It’s a shame it didn’t make it to market. I may have outshined the Corvette. AMC was so under rated. They weren’t afraid to take chances, but got scared on this one for some reason.
That's the problem, they were always underrated and because of that this car would have been a failure, it'd have been a classic example of everyone standing around waiting on someone else to buy one first before they will, that's pretty much what happened with the original AMX and AMC probably realized that, they knew that they couldn't wait 5 years for things to start picking up, and like everyone else they knew strict emissions laws were coming over the next few years and didn't want to get stuck with a bunch of real cool looking cars that no one wanted because they'd be underpowered. Truth is it was probably a wise move dropping it, too much too soon when they knew big changes were coming in the auto market.
Love the active aero and the curves, im thinking that if you are a doctor you must be a plastoc surgeon or gynecologist as you always get the best out of those girls, your camera angles are fantastic and we get to see the best of these beautiful girls you find for us, and even the older ladies look fresh and in their prime. Wheel and tire choice absolutely ruined this beautiful car . Correct that and add a front dam and this thing would rival most modern exotics , in MY opinion . I would LOVE to see what Chip Foose could do to this car ! There is so much potential here .
Such a shame the AMX 3 never made it into production. Had a Javelin and an AMC powered Bricklin back in the day. Beautiful refined lines. The Vector...not so much, looks like it belongs in a Lego movie.
AMC ROCKED! They should still be selling cars! Loved them from the first time I saw a “57”!!! I would have bought one over Chevy or Ford! The “57” Chrysler or Desoto would have been close competition though. Also Studebaker would have been in the running. So long AMC, RIP!
I know this is no comparison but my dream was to buy a black/silver amx javelin when I came back from viet nam found out I didn't have any 💰 money in savings oh well that's life that would have been in 1970
My dad told me about these cars years ago sadly he owned 3 normal amx how ever he sold them all few years before he passed away and never got the names from the guys who bought them
I can only imagine what seeing these two vehicles in person is like. You should work on producing a coffee table book loaded with all your photos. For that matter, you should do two books. One for cars and one for airplanes. I'd buy them.
