I have been watching these old password games and I noticed that three of them who act so gentlemanly are Frank Gifford,Arthur Godfrey and Paul Anka. They stand and hold on the chair of the ladies.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Even ALLEN has had enough of her (watch, not just this one, but the last 2 episodes). She NEVER shuts up (and I seriously mean NEVER). Allen is constantly telling her to "just give the clue). I can tell from the last few episodes that he doesn't care too much for her, that's why I don't GET why he keeps having her back!!
Back in those days, many pro athletes had off season jobs, as their income through the sport they played was often not enough to live well all year long.
Not only was Betsy a real beauty with an obviously sweet disposition and sunny personality , her voice was as sexy as her looks . She was a true gem of an actress and celebrity !
Ms Palmer was a sweetie but she had to have a tough core being a friend of Joan Crawford in Ms Crawfords latter days . On IGAS she used to be seated next to grumpy Henry Morgan but in the latter days of the program , they moved these formerly mutual admirers to opposite ends of the panel .
Yup. In an interview she said the reason her and Henry stopped being seated next to each other was because they fell out after she made a reference to his alcoholism in an episode.
Although you may have gotten a "hand slap" for gesturing, I think if Frank had said "Washington…" And slowly looked up the ceiling while saying it, that would have possibly cinched the word "Monument."
Again, you may or may not have gotten a hand slap for this 1, but for "Escalator" if you had minutely gestured sort of stepping on moving stairs and then said, "Staaaaaaaaaair...ss" and sort of jolted forward at the end of the word, that might have done it :-)
I guess it's easy 2020 hindsight 56 years in the future (OMG!) But for "Profit" may be the 2 words: "Business" and then said in that opposite type Password-ian way denoting an opposite, the word "Lossssss....?"
you can stick that comment where the sun don't shine, Johnny and his wife were all ready separated and living in separate apartment's, but that obviously means little to you, a holier that thou politically incorrect boob
YES SHE WAS!! Even ALLEN wasn't too fond of her (all people have to do is watch the last couple of episodes she was on to see that). He was CONSTANTLY telling her, "Just give the clue." (but she deliberately does not listen).
I sure wish they would release these as full seasons on Blu-ray disc so I could watch them at the best possible quality. I'd buy them all.

*hold the chair for the ladies
That's considered the etiquette of gentlemen then and now.
I just love Betsy Palmer.
me, too .What a doll. rip
This is a hard word Stride. I would think the old Stride Rite shoes myself.
I thought she was pretty as a kid....now, I think she the most GORGEOUS thing I've ever seen....

Anyone else binge watching 1964 game shows?

Sexiness is fleeting.
You ARE kidding?? Even ALLEN isn't too fond of her (just watch the last 2 episodes she was on). He's CONSTANLY telling her to "just give the clue."
"Yes, we did by golly" oh, what a different time it was!
This was a really fun game, especially "quarterback".
I remembered Alex Webster as the coach of the Giants in the early 70s
Frank Gifford looks like he wanted to say "Let's go hang out after this." He appears to be a friendly man to everyone he meets.
At least certainly after the 1st clue for "Hatch" I would have said, "Emerge" and maybe opened my hands a little bit... :-)
I wonder if peck would have helped ?! Emerge is a great idea. Blessings from California. 🦉
@@marycook1644 I suppose it's possible that might have helped. Blessings to you as well :-)
frank: smart & hunky....
'Fabulous" Frank Gifford and "Big Red" Alex Webster, two of the greatest New York Giants ever, they lead the Giants to 6 title games in 8 years
For "Octopus" after the clue "Tentacles" was spoken by Gifford, I'm thinking the word "Eight" as a clue :-)

So im guessing when they asked "whatdoesyour husbanddo " it means the woman is a housewife? 16:30
Betsy Palmer: Y A
Allen Ludden: Not Allowed
You don't often see a new contestant reach across and shake hands with the opposing celebrity the way Alex does with Frank Gifford.
Betsy: Y-A
Allen: NO THAT'S TWO WORDS!!
Hearing people refer to Ali as Clay
Some of these words were hard. Like they picked them out of a hat.

Sad to say, but I think the game was fixed
What makes you think that?

Betsy Palmer was way to chatty and annoying !
She always has the kindest things to say about you except, of course, your inability to spell three-letter words.
I thought she seemed friendly to the contestants
*too chatty
not as annoying as you are
