That is so beautiful - I’ve never water-coloured before but have bought paper and paints to start making my own cards - Thankyou for your fantastic tutorial
I’m loving these mini Mondays. Being a total newbie since Covid lockdown I have been braving watercolor. Mostly using cheaper paper but was given some Arches, that I was afraid to use, so this is perfect for me to try without wasting too much quality paper as I get the hang of things. I don’t feel myself playing beat the clock before it dries, as often. Thank you!
I'm really looking forward to trying some of your mini Monday paintings in the holidays. I was wondering how do you get the rough edge on your paper squares. Have you torn it? Many thanks.
I was having a rough watercolor practice session, but I tried this tutorial and I feel so happy and proud! My painting came out so ethereal and dreamy and it helped me regain my confidence. Thank you!
I’ve been learning so much from these tutorials, thank you so much for sharing your time! Can you recommend a middle of the road paint that I could start with? Right now I’m using watercolor markers 😊
I recently got a block of watercolor postcards. Ive wrecked several larger watercolor journals but I honestly had no idea what to do with the tiny pristine pages until I came across this series! I'm enjoying them so much! Thank you Ellen!
hi ellen! ive been doing your tutorials for a few weeks now and they have been such a huge help and inspiration! i only began painting (and sketching, being creative in general) 4 months ago. i went my first 38 years of life thinking i had no talent to do anything. but thank god that, on a whim, i decided to buy some watercolors! painting has been the thing i look forward to each day, stress relief, just such an amazingly fun way to express myself. i used to say i couldnt draw a straight line! now, i paint these lovely landscapes with your help, among many other styles. i know now that anyone can be an artist, if i became one!! i couldnt believe it, when one day, after many messy and "failed" paintings, that i had improved!! your teaching style is perfect for me, and you are appreciated more than you know. to all the would-be artists out there... you CAN create, paint, draw etc! i found that creativity is a muscle. the more you work it and practice, the better you get, as with anything in life. try something new Today. it just may change your life!
What to do with mini paintings: use them in dollhouses or sell to dollhouse collectors. There is a pretty serious adult collector market who would love to support artists.
@@ellencrimitrent Excellent! I hope to be able to someday, but for now am quite enjoying the beginner tutorials. Very grateful for to have discovered your vids.
Off topIc Can you do a pretty golf course scene, I cycle past a lot but realise I can't paint golf courses. I am sure you have zillions of requests for things so whatever, some of these golf courses can be beautifully landscaped. Maybe a Mini Monday madness one.
Hello from Turkey 🇹🇷 Ellen 🙋♀️. When I watch your videos I think that these paintings are so simple to do, but I never can achieve 🙈😂. I love your inspiring art. Thank you for all of your sharing 🙏. Have a great day 🥰
Love these so much!!! I love watching and trying out these small ones cause if I mess it up I don't feel so bad!! And I can start over!! Great for beginners like me!! Thanks so much, you really take the stress away and make it fun!!
Thank you! I have had a fear of trying a landscape painting and I think that I just figured out why: I think that I am afraid that it won’t turn out and then I have wasted a whole lot of watercolor paper. This seems like a great way to ease into it! Thank you!💕
This is an amazing tutorial! Just starting to get into watercolor and this makes the “classic” watercolor landscape look so accessible. Super pleased with how mine turned out, the mix of tones and taping makes everything really pop. Thank you!
What a fun little painting....just the thing to send to a friend who might need some cheering up. Looks like I’ll be painting this on a postcard...snail mail❤️. Thank you!!!
Last year, during the heat of summer, my husband and I hiked with friends 3,200 feet into the Selkirks. Your painting reminded me of the lake we found hidden in the woods. In the lake was a huge moose eating the lily pads. I took a picture and yesterday painted using the picture as a guide usine the squirt bottle, but different hues. Something I never thought I could do before following your tutorials! Thank you!!! So many happy memories.
I love this one Ellen. Wow how pretty those trees are when you sprayed with water! They grew up! Stay safe sweet friend. I so enjoy all your videos. 🤗☀️🌸🦋🦜💕 PS - Saving up to buy a pad of the Arches paper for some of your videos that I want to paint for my house. The paper matters and I need some of the Arches to get all the help I can. Mine never turn out as beautiful as yours but I don’t have quality paper so I understand they won’t look all that great. Thank you for all you do for all of us. It is appreciated. PSS - I have something (not a painting) that I have made for you to show my appreciation for all you do. Where can I find your mailing address? Thanks
For some reason,I found this difficult? Colors muddy instead of a proper bleed?couldn't get my "darks" dark enough? I realized this is hard for you to comment without seeing. Maybe I was over confident. Landscapes generally are easiest for me. Still love your work! You're my FAV!!
Thank you Ellen!!! Your tutorials are the BEST( and I've checked out several)! You show valuable and varied techniques in a brief amount if time with beautiful finished products every time. You've taught me sooo much. Thanks again🤗
Thank you so much. I just found your podcast and now I pretend that every day is Monday. Even though I will never have the coordination or imagination to be good at painting you have made it so much fun. THANK YOU!
Wonderful little trick with the tape. I have that tape damage my paper all the time. Love watch you videos. You are teaching me to watercolor. I have painted for years but I am new with working in watercolors. Thanks
Thank you. I painted this last night and really enjoyed it. I subscribed, and I'm going to try more of your Mini Mondays. 😊 I wish we could show you our efforts. 😊
They are great. I liked it with just the grass. I like simple in water color. But it's great that you do these because everyone can make them their own. Thank you. So pretty. I like your spray bottle technique
The optical illusion of the eye is incredible: some strokes of colour and a world is revealed! Never fails to amaze me & thank you so much for making it seem accessible, Emma.
I have to tell you!!! YOU are the most real watercolor artist on youtube. If you ask anyone else a question the other artist answers are sarcastic not at all helpful!!! Thank you for being so helpful!
That is so beautiful - I’ve never water-coloured before but have bought paper and paints to start making my own cards - Thankyou for your fantastic tutorial

Love this abstract mini landscape!! If you wanted to make it bigger, would you have to add more shades of color ?
