- 7 to 8 sweet potatoes
2 stick butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups of apple juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon extract
2 tablespoon corn starch
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 stick butter melted
1 pack pie crust shell
1 pack puff pastry
bake on 375 50 to 55 minutes

That's an old classic right there Chef. My mother made this when I was coming up. She poured warm sweetened milk over the sweet potatoes then topped with crust. Next time I'm going to try your recipe. Thanks Chef!

Hey chef Charles just found you today I'm 80 years old and my grandmother used to make the best sweet potato cobbler in the world And this looks and sounds so much like hers. I haven't had this cobbler Since I was a teenager Lost a recipe my grandmother wrote out But this 1 is mine now .Thank you you thank you so much Following your now got you on the bell.
Wow, my Grandma was born in 1909 in low country South Carolina. Growing up, she was always in the kitchen cooking all the southern classics. But I have never heard of Sweet Potato Cobbler. Looks amazing!

I used to make that sweet potato cobbler for my dad back in his 70s but I would put extra crust in the middle

Just found your channel today & I am so happy to see you making a sweet potato cobbler. My Mother made this cobbler all the time because my Daddy loved it as well as her sweet potato pie. Mama never used apple juice though & the next time I make one I will try the apple juice in it. I still make both sweet potato cobbler & pie today. I am 74 years old & live in Tennessee. Haven't had a sweet potato cobbler in a very long time, since before my Grandmama passed. She used to make every kind of cobbler you can think of, including "ice potato", blackberry, peach...man she was a great baker!!!. I used to be a commercial mixer myself and I always tried to put as much pride into my manufactured product as she did into her homemade, something she taught me...
