Best photos and edit out of the x100IV I have seen so far, and I have watched a lot of them on RUclips. Congrats on the results, I will definitely be buying your presets at one point.
I clicked the video after recognizing the thumbnail from the Facebook community. Thanks for this kabayan, literally 5 minutes ago I thought I needed another camera to shoot portraits =))
Good morning, congratulations for the review and for your RUclips channel. I have a question for you about the Fujifilm x100VI: to switch from photo to video mode you have to act on the rear menu (LCD) by manually setting the mode, but wanting to set any button as the REC button, while in photo mode for convenience and operational speed , does pressing the latter record with the same settings assigned for the video mode? I'm asking you because I did this test and by pressing the button dedicated to video recording on the screen the video starts recording but without any information regarding FPS and more. Thanks in advance for the reply
Hello! thank you so much! I'm kinda confuse with your question, ... but I have not tried setting a custom button as a "rec video" button. I still use the default one which is my drive/delete button to record video. Regarding the information on the LCD, have you tried pressing the "Display/Back" button to toggle the LCD information on-screen?
The 5th gen HR sensor is great. Recently I had a photoshoot (X-H2) where I only used HEIC, Provia and some grain. Stunning image quality if you don't mess up the lighting 🤣
Sorry ~ I missed to reply to your comment! not all the time, just when I'm close to my subject's face or If I only have one subject in the frame :) But I always use AF-C mode.
Hi ! Love this video !!! I’m considering to get a copy of this beautiful Fuji camera. Question about the X100vi Simulation. I thought that those simulations from the camera can provide the awesome color tone like the beach portraits you included in your video ? Why do I still need LightRoom Preset such as Fujilove in order to get the result you have ? Thanks for your help! Dave
Thank you! Great question! :) Yes, the jpeg colours coming from this camera is super pretty and I think its one of its best features. But I quite like to fiddle with the images coming from it a lil bit that's why I also shot them in RAW. I like to have the freedom to control my tones, WB, sharpness, clarity etc. This is nice when shooting with contrasty scenes as well as you can recover some highlight and shadow details that you can't sometimes do in JPEG format. Don't get me wrong, I do have custom settings in my X100vi that only shoots jpegs which I use for everyday shooting. :) Hope that answers your question.
@@eugeniaoribe yes! I will recommend this for all skill levels :) especially for taking everyday photos of the family, as I use mine for taking photos of my kids as well. For starters, use auto settings for now, or watch some youtube videos to learn more about it :)
Hi, thank you for these beautiful pictures. Great work with the models! Congratulations. Two small questions: I really like your strap with the Pd anchor links. Could you give me the reference? Is the Tiffen filter mounted on the PRF-49 filter or directly on the X100VI? Thanks !
thank you! :) check the links in the description for all the accessories. I use the Haoge filter adapter + hood combo. It fits well, links in the description as well.
Hey dice, Heres a question for you: I currently have a Sony a7iv that I use mainly for video. I wanted a new camera for photography mainly for close up moments with friends (portraits) and landscapes, compact size, and I love the aesthetic of the film simulations. Which Fuji cam should I be looking at any recs? Also love the aesthetic with Flash in nighttime.
Hey bro, i think the x100V or the VI, if you have the budget and willing to wait for the backorders, is perfect for you. I also have the A7IV as main. Another alternative is XT4 or XT5 if you want interchangeable lenses.
Not really if you maintain a reasonable distance from the subject's face. You can introduce a lil bit of distortion if you are shooting close-ups which is pretty normal for a 35mm focal length - it is manageable though and sometimes adds a bit of uniqueness to the shot. It's more of a environmental portrait lens rather than traditional.
Amazing work man! For the portraits, did you use a film simulation? I noticed that when I use film simulations, it looks a bit grainy which I love but how do you make it so it stays really sharp?
Great portraits, love the colors of your edits. A quick question: I know that you’re shooting raw and editing with your own preset, when shooting in raw did you pick provia as the standard or you started with something like pro-neg high to get those flattering skin tones?
Hey man, if you're shooting RAW, the camera profile like provia, astia, etc will not get applied to the RAW files, these are only applied to jpegs afaik. But these edits, I use classic chrome as my color profile.
@@dicesales Thanks for replying!, on the RAW file, it seems my version of capture one automatically pulls the color profile (film simulation) in which the picture was shot which gives you a close approximation to the JPEG produced by the camera. I really like the color of your edits for portraits so look forward to your new presets (hopefully you can make some color profiles for C1 too haha). And yes Classic Chrome produces very pleasing skin tones (less saturated and more tonal uniformity)
@jaegerschtulmann all good man! Sorry, i didn't know that you're using C1 and also, I'm not familiar with it :) you can still change the colour profile thought, right?
@@dicesales yes indeed, you can change it within C1, you should give it a shot, personally I prefer C1 as it demosaics the xtran raw files a bit better than LR (extracts more detail from the raws). Anyways, thanks again and good luck with your channel! subbed!
I heard some peoplle5 saying they could get only 90 shots out of a battery, others said under 200, what is your experiencr, how many shots did u manage with one battery?
I think only 90 shots is a bit ridiculous! I remember when I photographed Senna, I took around 400+ shots without changing my batteries. So maybe around 350-450 shots for a full batt.
I have this feeling that a 35mm FF equivalent is the same we have on our phones nowadays, which tends to look too ordinary to what we're used to see every day. I like it X100 line's results, but it seems too overpriced compared to what we already have on our hands 😢 In Brazil it costs 14 minimum wage, which is a lot!
I feel you bro! NZ pricing is high too! It's a big investment, but the X100Vi offers incredible image quality and a unique shooting experience and it really depends on your needs and budget.
@@dicesales i just purchased your fujifilm presets yesterday! they were amazing! :) im trying to learn how to shoot better portraits with this camera. what would be the best AF mode to use for me to get sharper portraits of moving objects? or does it depend more on the shutter speed? thank you! :)
@@avegailfermindoza507 I'm using the AF-C Set 2 :) paired with eye-AF if I'm shooting portraits. For shutterspeed, make sure its fast enough for movements, play around 1/400 - 1/800 depending how much light you have for the scene.
You're a very good photographer but there's something that people don't speak about when it comes to this very hyped camera: the shots are pretty flat, the optics are clinical and sharp but there's a lack of depth.
