It was just a trial. The band gets dressed first, with the soloist only at the last minute before performing. Lang Lang is still brilliant.

@Serlal In terms of sheer technique, young Kissin was certainly on par with Lang Lang. As for the others you have named, they are no match for Lang Lang. Volodos was close, but not quite a match.

@@dr.andersonsghost4315 Superb technique is always admirable but what fascinates me most of all, is inflection - is that a correct musical term? I don't know, hope that you get it. I would like to be able to edit a video selecting excerpts of up to 60 seconds of performances where intonation makes the difference between beautiful and magnificent. Greetings.-

@@dinulipati You are probably referring to dynamics and tonal color. Vladimir Horowitz was the best at dynamics and tonal color. He was incredible. No pianist today comes close to Horowitz.

@@dr.andersonsghost4315 Dynamics and color, right you are! I share your admiration for Horowitz, but I find it impossible to qualify any artist as ...the best one... Music is universal but the impression it leaves on each of us, is strictly personal. That is the limitation but als the beauty of it. Greetings.-

I guess there are so many at the rehearsal because they didn't get tickets for the concert. There are times when you have to buy tickets for the rehearsal. Artists can't give two concerts.
