I'm a Quake veteran and I have to say that you explain a really significant technique among top tier aimers. If you combine these overflickshots with proper keyboard aim (you strafe left or right according your target) you will kill average players pretty easily. It's no secret anymore that some expert players suggest you to practice the Lightning Gun in Quake in order to master tracking aim for slower FPS titles.
I love how you actually team people how to get better instead of giving them stupid tips like "just play alot” or "find your sens" you actually help people get better and I appreciate that man thank you. I know im late on this video but keep up the RUclips grind man i love you no homo
Yo noonie I used your sensitivity and my 3rd game I dropped my PR of 25 in rebirth, not currently using it atm but bro for u to play with that sensitivity is insane
One of the best videos ive seen in a long time. Deffo worth a sub. Amazing tuiton. Would pay for more no lie. Literally took brain power to understand.
Been playing 3D Aim Trainer a lot. It has shown me that my tracking is my worst skill. I always knew I could make good shots and flicks but still seemed to whiff a lot. I got expert 1 and 2/Master in all categories, but my tracking is horrible. Stuck in apprentice III lol at least I could narrow it down and am working on it. 3D aim trainer, to me, is better than AIM lab. 3DAT has a set amount of levels and groupings that make sense and let you break each component into each of its parts to practice those specific skills. Really glad I started using it. I've noticed that I'm paying more attention to certain movements in the game. I like saying, " ok, I can easily get to silver in all these categories," but this one is stuck in bronze. Let's work on all the bronze until they're at silver.
Tracking is my worst too lol if you have aim labs look up "Strahfe's beginner warzone routine" the first 2 in the playlist are very good for tracking in general not warzone specific
This helped me out a lot. I've played a lot of Valorant/CSGO where I don't track very much, and moving to Apex, I thought it was going to be about smoothness of aim. The thought process of making lots of little micro adjustments instead of trying to keep my arm moving in one consistent sweep has helped me improve with my tracking. Thank you!
@@raphael9205 The best way I can think about it is warming up with a tracking task with something moving at a constant speed in Aim Lab or Kovaks. Initially I thought my goal was to make my aim smooth and consistent, to match the movement of the target. Having to keep my arm moving at a steady pace throughout the motion. In actuality it's more like you're aiming a bunch of different times. It kinda broke my mind out of the idea that I had to move my arm with the target, I'm actually targeting several different spots along an axis, and my arm is moving at different speeds along that axis. Not sure if my analogy is any better, but hopefully that helps.
This was big issue for me. I only switched to PC last year. Coming from console, tracking skills are kinda unnecessary in most games. Now without aim assist, it’s very hard staying on target to unpredictable movements.
Usually no but it depends on the game. Some games will let your weapon reset its recoil faster if you stop moving briefly or crouch. Some don't let you move and shoot at all. If there is no penalty to your spread or recoil for moving, then don't stop moving in a gunfight unless you have to.
Aren’t you supposed to make the adjustments only when you are off the target for more accurate aim? So then how do you know that you’re off the target to be make the adjustments so quick?
@@TheDryerNewt damn, thanks for the reply man. Like you say in the video, I am hesitant because I want to be 100% accurate which just makes me miss all together. Great video.
@@seansims4518 I'm not a god by any means but I'm much more comfortable now and can get top of lobby in most mainstream respawn shooters that I play. If I were to give any tips or insight it would be just practice on the game you want to get good at and don't worry about anything else. Improving comes with time. Refer back to these videos If you're ever feeling lost. But most importantly just get comfortable. I generally stay away from aim trainers because it shifts the focus to only improving and there isn't alot of fun to be had. Focus, constantly tell yourself what you're doing wrong so you can understand how to improve. Try and relax and most importantly have fun. If you get burnt out play another game it doesn't even need to be a shooter just make sure it's on kbam and you will slowly wire your brain to play PC games. I came from playing console my whole life and at the start of my PC transition I was hopeless. Now I'm confident anyone can do it. It took me a few years of on and off play but I got to where I'm comfortable but here we are.
I can’t get past diamond 2 on aimlab my aim is slow I can’t score over 75k on gridshot but I am grandmaster 1 in precision, my tracking is great but I am so bad with over flicking or not being able to flick in straight lines well to help with consistency and I even practice these things but I can’t get any faster
Would this still work for someone will a low sens for, say, CS:GO? You can cover a lot more distance because you have a higher sense, whereas mine is a mere 600 eDPI.
I think I learnt what ur saying by mistake lol But in a different way. I've always sucked at fps even 3rdPS but I figured out in the last Few days trying to get all snipers to gold (I've never even maxed a level on a sniper in my cod life) but I find that the only time I can get on target good is when I'm actually strafing, I I'm still and not moving I can never get on target and the more I try to be on target the worse I am. I find if I just let motion happen like I see enemy I just scope n shoot without thinking n trying to get on target I tend to be alot better
tracking is why aim assist gets so much hate... In aimlabs I'm a high rank in flicking and precision, but horribly ranked in tracking lol Gonna try find a mouse which doesn't require so much force to press the buttons
This is Somewhat true but I think you worded it poorly. Just work on your smoothness, the only time you should be correcting is if the player's movement changes, it makes no sense to constantly correct if the player is moving in the same direction at the same speed.

I habit pushing my mouse into the mouspad so more friction which technically lower sense for my tracking but sometimes it soesnt work
Newt you deserve so much more subs man this is the most informative video about aiming! Hope you make more of these vids!
Thank you sir. Going to start doing this instead of the one long tracking motion. My tracking is the worst part of my game and that’s probably why
When you are strafing and shooting and u need to adjust your aim do you stop moving?
Nope i keep adjusting while moving
