Reporting from Bangkok International exotic plants show, held on the 14-16th June 2024.
Here’s a pro tip - come during the vendor setup date, one day before the show, when ALL of the rarest plants and best deals were swept up and sold. This means… the public will not have a chance to see them.
Variegated monsteras are HUGE in demand, with new varieties introduced
There are TONS of variegated philodendron hybrids - in all shapes and sizes.
SURPRISINGLY, more variegated Alocasia varieties! their price is still holding up well and they are so easy on the eyes…

I've lost interest in variegates. They're not even that good looking it's just a scam.
Variegation is not for everyone 🥰 some people love the look while others dont like the way they look.
@onlyplants no it's not that certain ones do look good like the pink princess or naturally occurring ones that are patterned. But now they're induced in tissue culture mixed with viruses and fungi and a new shit variegate version of a plant will be out within a month. It's just trashy.
I'm really tired of varigated plants being the focus. There are so many beautiful plants that actually have all their chlorophyll.
