I received a negative feedback from a buyer in Australia who stated the items were chipped and for the very high shipping he was angry that I did not offer returns. I apologized and asked what I could do to fix this? That was it. He never responded. My point is that my response was polite and offered to make it 'good'. Anyone looking at my feedback will see the negative and my polite offer to fix the issue. Sure that took me a few minutes, but other buyers will see I care about my sales. I also sold a doll for $200 or so and was messaged by the buyer that the porcelain head had shattered in shipping. I again asked what I could do to remedy this. She asked for $5.00 refund since the clothes were the important part. Phew!! Love your show. Very informative.
This is why I do international shipping with Ebay only. I ship to Ebay they charge buyer and ship to Country. Sold a melamine disney kids plate for $15 ebay charged $100 to buyer in Ireland. If Ebay breaks it I don't have to worry after I send to Ebay.
International returns are covered by ebay? So I would allow it. Don't they ship the item back to ebay and they figure it out and you don't have to refund anything for their new rule?
To answer you question on the difference in low to high value. Dooney & Burke have a serial # imprinted on the inside of the bag for authenticity. I just sold one like yours and had a buyer contact me to confirm if it had it.
Thanks for the tips regarding how to not just list like things like magazines and going through to see if there is a valuable one as well as your thought process on finding things like the toys. Helps me with my own picking :)
Thanks for your comments on negative feedback. I’ve always been so stressed out over this and more and more have resigned myself to your theory that at some point it will happen and I need to just roll with it knowing I’ve done my very best. Hearing this though just makes me feel better. Always enjoy your information!
I hit a thriftstore as they put out a rack loaded with Harley Davison shirts from the 90s. I paid $1.99 each. I comped each one and decided they were worth $20 each in clearly used condition. I made a huge lot since I do not choose to list clothes as a rule. I cut the comps in half and priced the lot accordingly. A dealer bought the lot within minutes. Win win for us both. No regrets leaving a few hundred dollars on the table. I made a few hundred in a few minutes and was spared the time to process the shirts individually.
Yeah, I picked up several Harley Davidson long sleeve shirts and sweatshirts from a church sale. I sold them all individually some sold right away some sold in a month or two and I had one long tail one that had an outline of the old Harley Davidson building in Kansas City, which they’re no longer at.
@Makeitcountflips Good hit. Harley always sells so no real downside. I sell entire households in one week. I tend to go for the fast flip when I buy to resell. There is definately more money to be made if you take your time and list everything individually.
I don't prepack items but I do use a yard stick in at least 1 photo for each item and keep my scale near my photo booth so I can weigh the item and take a pic of the weight...the weight is always my last pic for an item. I know approx. what my boxes weigh so it's fairly easy to figure out what size box I'll need and how much the item will weigh when packed. That way if someone buys more than one item I don't have to unpack a pre-packed item and can ship things together. I'm very rarely off by more than a couple of ounces on the weight for an item 😉
Yes! I lost my yard stick, so I use a tape measure, and put all the photos of the measurements in the listing. If the item is over 2 lbs, I don't do free shipping and I put the weight in the listing. Great advice.
Fair warning. I was still pleased with sales while not listing earlier this month. I was doing a storage unit move and making changes to my listing and shipping area. Sales maintained decent for 3 weeks. 4th week I was ready to start listing again and then my store completely died. Still working on recovering lol. GL finding stuff to list!
Good warning on vinyl LPs. I do sell vinyl LPs, but it is a lot of work. First, they need to be pristine. Next I play test EVERY album I sell. You never know if there is a defect you can't see but you can hear. Third, I clean them all. Last, shipping takes a LP box. Fourth, a lot of albums were re-released or sold by record clubs. Those are versions people do not want. They want the early ones. The record club albums tend to be not as well made. Kind of like Book Club books. In the end most albums don't bring enough to be worth it. But I have sold some in the $75 price range. On not having anything to list, congratulations! Many of us have an ample supply, in the form of the dreaded death pile. I could stop buying completely and I still have enough to list for a month or more.
My general rule for books/mags/comics is I look for "runs". Like if it's a run of #1 to #10 or #15 to #40 or something like that, as long as it's an uninterrupted run, I list it as a lot. On the flip side if it's a complete jumble with no consecutive numbers, I'll also list as a lot. If it's a broken set of consecutive numbers, I'll split them into their own "mini" lots. I don't typical list individual titles unless it's of particular value. Even then, if I have a run of books and ONE of them is valuable, I don't usually pick it out. I keep it in the run.

Hi Justin! I’m 90 days into reselling and using Flipwise has been a great asset to a new “smaller inventory” seller to figure out how to tailor my eBay page (free shipping vs calculated as an example). Can you explain ROI% vs Net profit % and how they differ? What do you do with re-listed items with 0 views/watches in the past 30 days?
Hi if no views . It’s a bad picture , out of season or wrongly priced , ( not always too highs9metimes too low a price is seen as poor quality) .revise or end and relist with better photos if needed ,

@@CC-ed7od lol, banks will charge both sides, eBay gets reimbursed by a seller fee and the buyer would be charged by their bank/cc company independently. I live 10 minutes from Canada. Any non-cash purchase has a separate fee from my bank/cc to go with it.
So true about negative feedback. Also if you have a lot of sales and 100 percent positive, you could be more of a target for partial refund scams, they know that you will do anything to keep that 100.
Selling records is like selling coins, stamps, sports cards. comic books, etc, you need to be very particular about your description, know what you have, and grade it very accurately if you want the super high prices some of these items deserve. I always always grade my records with very strict standards to make sure my buyers are happy. I've been collecting records for years so I have a pretty good idea how to grade them. It's not easy to figure out for a newbie.
Frye is a good one! 2 weeks ago I shopped a "horse people retirement community" found a pair of vintage ladies riding boots for $2..sold in less than 48 hours for $300..look for the black label. Always learning from you!
Hello! Question, when a buyer opens a dispute like item not received but tracking shows it delivered and eBay steps in at the end of the resolution period and sides in your favor and closing the dispute, does this have any negative effects on your account? I have heard that when eBay has to step in for the resolution it can/does, but I'd assume that is only when it is in a negative way(having to side with the buyer).
The dude w the Q about negative feedback...if you pause on his question... he made so many mistakes. Hey guy, if you're out there.. 1. If they don't like the item, they can do a return. Then they can't leave NF. Did you send the wrong item? If you did, return. If not, scam 2. Never EVER refund unless the item is returned to you 3. Get your business policies in place for the above 2 concerns so that you're protected Good luck
I disagree on #2. If the buyer has a legitimate problem and the item price is low enough, it’s more of a hassle to return than to just refund the buyer. If they are a scammer then I hope they enjoy the $10 item.

Hi Justin, thank you so much for your videos. My wife and I started our reselling business at the beginning of May and just wrapped up our first month. The information you've provided has been extremely helpful to us. We can't thank you enough for both the information and for the attitude with which you approach reselling. Thank you! We've also subscribed to Flipwise and have found it to be a wonderful tool for both keeping records and saving time. Although it would be nice if there was a way to enter inventory that has been purchased but not yet listed on eBay so that our monthly investment is more accurate for inventory that we are procrastinating on. We do have a question. It's our ambition for both of us to be able to go full-time reselling. We know that you and your wife are part-time resellers, but we were wondering if you did want to go full time, what would you change about your business to accomplish that? Thanks again!
Will answer your question regarding full-time on an upcoming video, but on as for adding unlisted inventory to Flipwise, that is coming very soon! We're working on it right now and hope to have it done by end of June. Thanks for your support!
Hey Justin, have been doing ebay reselling for about a year now and have made a store with about a 1000 items doing about 5-10 sales per day. I recently started also doing amazon reselling (online arbitrage). Im wondering if you have had any experience doing this? It seems very scalable and might be what i shift to in the future as it seems there is a limit to the amount of good items i can find for ebay. Thanks for all the help!!
Do you use a Scan Sheet for the Post Office? My post office wants a scan sheet if I bring more than 5 packages at one time. From what I understand this is a difficult thing to get from eBay unless you use the bulk ship option. That option does not work well for me as I package orders multiple times during the day or weekend. Just curious how you handle that?
Hey Justin, how do you deal with this: I've been reselling for 30 years, mostly used/collectible items with a small sprinkling of new. In that time frame new items more and more come hermetically sealed with holograms and all this anti theft all over them. Part of me says I must open the box to take my own photos and ensure the item is still good but the term "open box" has such a negative connotation that I would be reluctant to. I've been burned too many times by assuming that sealed items are good both as a buyer and seller. Do you video opening the box and insert it in the pics? Thanks for all you do.
I like your idea of recording the opening of the package for the prospective buyers to witness. I think I will use that since the idea of hoping, assuming that it's all good, new inside the box is unsettling.
With the cuisanart units I don’t even keep the base of most models. They don’t sell nearly as well as the bowl, lids, pusher and some blades. But I’ve gotten veros for some of the blades.
Question: I created a listing on eBay and saw the median sold price was a little over $21.00. I tweaked the title to include the word "vintage," and then saw that the price had gone down to 15.00. Can using the wrong modifier really lower your chance of getting a higher sale price? (I added and removed the word several times to check, and it went back and forth between the same values)
Stupid question....what do sales have to do with listing new inventory when you already have tons of listings? I'm super new (within the last week) so sorry for dumb question.
This is off the subject but I sold an old camera that I KNOW I listed at 39.95, but someone just bought it for $10.00....I don't remember lowering the price (from 39.95 t0 $10.00). Is there any way I can find the history of that price change, or is Flipwise the only way ? Most informative Ebay RUclipsr on Ebay! Thanks.
@@justinresells I did find "all revisions" before the item specifics section on desktop and my item had no revisions. So do I call ebay or tell the buyer I never accepted $10.00.
Love your videos Justin. Question when you offer free returns does that mean you refund the postage they paid to get the item or just the return postage? Specifically I had somebody open a return before they even received the item saying they found a better price. Do I need to return their initial shipping? Thanks for your help.
Hi Justin. Thanks for all the info. I have a question. In listing "sell one like this ", is it OK to use any of the pics of the item that is already listed? Specifically a nice Pic where the lister illustrated the dimensions of the item, or am I just being lazy? Thanks.
If your package is being shipped to a US Address how does Ebay charge that fee? Do they have a list of Freight Forwarder Addresses? BS if you ask me. It's like they are fining you for not using them to freight forward.
Thanks Justin for another great video. I have a question and hope you can guide me a little. I'm a Top Rated Seller but just saw where eBay gave me a 2.33% defect rate on shipping late. I have always had 100% on time shipping and 100% feedback from buyers. I checked the shipped items in question and 4 of the 5 were shipped on time using eBay labels. The 5th item could not be accessed online so I will have to check receipts. All received positive feedback from the buyer. Is there anyway to get eBay to remove this inaccurate information? How did they come up with it? How on earth can I get in touch with them? Have been enjoying using Flipwise. Frees up a lot of time for me having it.
Do you recommend scheduling listings or list as you have time? It looks like you just list as you go but other channels swear by scheduling listings out. Any thoughts? Pro for one way over the other?
Do you immediately enter items into flipwise or elsewhere to record COG and source even if you aren’t going to create the listing right away? I am trying to avoid redundancy in my data entry while also having accurate inventory info. What is your process? Also, any thoughts or experience on hiring a VA to help with drafting listings? Thanks!
@@HappyHikerHomies Thanks! My question is about tracking minimal details before listing. I don’t always have time to immediately photograph and list items when I first acquire them.
Hey, Justin! I thought of this question as I was watching your video. Do I have to use the shipping service that is selected by the buyer or as the seller am I entitled to use the most economical (equivalent) shipping service? For instance if the buyer selected USPS Ground Advantage but UPS Ground is cheaper or vice versa, is it fine for me to choose the cheaper option? Based on one of your recent videos, I set up business policies for shipping and have been limiting shipping on larger item to the lower 48 states and have been stating UPS Ground in the listing assuming it may be cheaper for larger items, but when I go to ship the item out this is not always the case and USPS Ground Advantage is the cheaper option so I end up opting for that service instead. Is this an acceptable practice?
Thats what I do, not many people will care assuming the delivery time is within your window, but you have to consider if they will care or not. eg if you are shipping internationally, UPS can result in massive fees and taxes where USPS might not.
If it's under 2 lb I just do free shipping so I can pick what I want. If it's over 2 lb I put the weight in, and pick what I think is most economical. If they pick something else I still go with what's most economical. I haven't had any problems yet.
Hey Justin, I’ve been selling on eBay since September of 2023 and I lost my account in January and just recently got it back. Long story short I can no longer promote my listings and I do not know why or how I can Help it. Thanks
Negative feedback may not hurt you, but being a 18 year ebay seller,I can tell you if you cancel a couple orders, ebay will shut you down so fast you want know what hit you, despite having 100% positive feedback!
Please explain to me how in the world you're shipping a Disney descendants doll for $3.12??????? I'm a professional seller on eBay doing way more business than you ($25,000.00 a month) and there is absolutely no way that I could ship ANYTHING that cheap. Not from any shipping provider with tracking. You're a super small seller compared to me, so please explain how you're getting better shipment rates than I am. I'm super curious.
That makes a little more sense. To the best of my knowledge it is impossible to ship anything of any size with TRACKING as cheaply as you stated. If there is, then I would love to know about it. I'm Top Rated and as I stated do on average $25,000 a month. So my shipping charges are ridiculous.

If your package is being shipped to a US Address how does Ebay charge that fee? Do they have a list of Freight Forwarder Addresses? BS if you ask me. It's like they are fining you for not using them to freight forward.
Hi. Love your content! I've noticed you stay away from art glass. (vases, crystal, etc.) Is this intentional? If so, why so?
How often or do you even update your prices on already listed items? Whats the best way to go about it with a large inventory?
Re no listings, have you gotten all your car parts and bathroom fixtures listed? 😊
yes!
Thanks for spending the time to let us know ow what’s up.
Never miss a video, Can't wait to try Flip Wise once I get to where I can afford it. Cheers
If you have less than 25 listings then Flipwise is free 😊
Do you recommend scheduling listings or list as you have time? It looks like you just list as you go but other channels swear by scheduling listings out. Any thoughts? Pro for one way over the other?
Scheduling only helpful if you’re running auctions, if listing buy it now it does not matter
I honestly thought your background was green screen >.
Thanks!
It goes into Flipwise automatically when you list it. You can update your cost of goods after in seconds.
@@HappyHikerHomies Thanks! My question is about tracking minimal details before listing. I don’t always have time to immediately photograph and list items when I first acquire them.
What is the software you are using? Do you list on eBay and then import to this software or vice versa?
I am using Flipwise: flipwise.app. You list on eBay and Flipwise imports it.
@@justinresells thank you very much.
Or just choose “standard shipping” then you can choose when you ship
If it's under 2 lb I just do free shipping so I can pick what I want. If it's over 2 lb I put the weight in, and pick what I think is most economical. If they pick something else I still go with what's most economical. I haven't had any problems yet.
Hey Justin, I’ve been selling on eBay since September of 2023 and I lost my account in January and just recently got it back. Long story short I can no longer promote my listings and I do not know why or how I can Help it. Thanks
sounds like a better question for eBay directly. reach out to them!
i love google lens. lets you see the item from all the websites and not just ebay.
Justin, do you advertise for people to contact you if they have items where they contact you for private pick?
I don’t advertise it no, but always up for a private pick!
@@justinresells thanks
Negative feedback may not hurt you, but being a 18 year ebay seller,I can tell you if you cancel a couple orders, ebay will shut you down so fast you want know what hit you, despite having 100% positive feedback!
Very true! eBay hates when sellers cancel.
Spent 3 hrs n 27 minutes to find out why you got charged $1 extra on a fee😂 sounds like me lol
Or maybe what that tells you is that your theory that you sell about the same number you list is incorrect.
it sure was incorrect this week!
I'm super curious.
that was combined shipping for two items in the same order, so shipping was $6.24 split across two items. thanks for watching!
That makes a little more sense. To the best of my knowledge it is impossible to ship anything of any size with TRACKING as cheaply as you stated. If there is, then I would love to know about it. I'm Top Rated and as I stated do on average $25,000 a month. So my shipping charges are ridiculous.
