  • How to make and paint a cosplay safe foam short sword. A lot of conventions have rules now about the types of Cosplay weapons or accessories you can bring in. The solution to this is to make your weapons out of Foam! I will show you the steps it takes to assemble this eva foam short sword as well as the techniques I use to apply a quick but effective paint job. Hand painting with acrylics is always a fantastic way to bring your cosplay prop to life.

Really cool end product. Some voice over narration would have been great to explain the steps in your paint process during the time lapse. Keep it up, looking forward to more of your tutorials!

Thanks for the brush annotations, they are super helpful. I picked up a 1" mop at the weekend and I am looking forward to getting some time to make a test piece and practice on. Won't be all liquitex as I have some good-ish acrylics already but I do want the rich silver.

@@MuhammadFidausKratos that's been done by Paps and Trollsky, and the axe isn't really good. i mean - it's Paps' quality, but the handling is bad for an axe.

heh - my wersion of "cosplay safe" is tempered steel. Then again - there's cosplay, and there's reenactment. My "fighting" sword is just a blunt steel bar...
