    I might get this set just for the different wheel sizes. I need some more wheels for a few moc's I'm working on, and those are perfect.

    I have this one, the german express train and the mallard and they are all very good. I use dry silicone lubricant on the wheel axles and it makes a big difference. They all can then pull the 3 coaches that come with the 3 engines, and more.

    Great model but I am having problems pulling tender and the passanger car. Yours is moving very fast even with several cars attached. Would you have any recommendations or tips? What could be wrong on my side?
    I am not using any lubrication, would it make considerable difference?
    I’m beginning to worry that the battery might have a problem.

      She was ok in the beginning but the gearing from the motor to the train started to slip so the cog was destroyed, The motor just needed clamping down more I think. I got some new LEGO cogs (black one) ones so they should be better, Haven't tried. If you look closely in the film I have a 9 volt motor in the carriage or in the black tender. Hope this helps.

    Did you have any issues with the locomotive drive train? I bought one and it struggles to pull the tender let alone the coach.

    • @MADABOUTLEGO
      @MADABOUTLEGO  2 года назад +1

      Yes a few It was the two cogs not being tight together, motor and drive, the cog was all chewed up, needs better way to keep motor held down on drive.

    The sound, steam and lighting are great. Makes me laugh that they call it 'Magic Castle' to try get round copyright. There actually was a class of GWR locomotives, 4073, that were known as 'Castle Class' because they were named after castles in western GWR territory.

    • @MADABOUTLEGO
      @MADABOUTLEGO  2 года назад +1

      Ta didn't know that.

    • @harveygosden8789
      @harveygosden8789 2 года назад +4

      I don't mean to be rude, but 'Hogwarts Castle' is actually a GWR Hall Class, no. 5972, with the name 'Olton Hall' to be specific, it is not a GWR Castle Class.
