  • A project I have been wanting to do. These will be real handy in the shop. I hope you enjoy the build. This video does run a little longer than usual.

    Those are really nice looking jacks with a good design, Tom. I am going to have to copy those. I saw an 1144 on the stock you showed - stressproof?

      Hey Robert. I believe it was 304 stainless. I got this drop years ago and never rusted so I am figuring it is stainless.

    I like them nice looking and great design. When you came out with that bam I thought maybe you were having Emeril flashbacks and we might be about to get some strawberry shortcakes. Keep on keeping on.

    you need to make a taper holder, so there are some types to hold you drill tape drill in the hole it’s called in the right thing in Germany. We called it “rightstock” so you can then fret your tape of with the machine and not need to hold it and screw it by hand in it, and invest right amount of torque and not too fast speed. It is a really nice tool then.

    I really wanted to watch the video, but I cannot handle the squeaking / chirping noise in the background

      What device are you watching it on? Another viewer said he hears the noise when he watches on his phone, but there is no noise when he watches on his computer. Audio is crystal clear when I edit the video on my laptop and there is no noise when I play it back on my desk top computer. I am not sure what the source of the noise is.

      @@silverram323 Thanks for that. Not sure where it is coming from. I have changed the adapter cord that goes from my wireless mic pack into the GoPro hoping that would help. I really like the Rode mic set up, but not sure what else to do. The GoPro I am using is older and has no mic adjustments in itself. My have to look into getting a newer GoPro? I appreciate your help with with this.

    Hey Tom sill watching but wondering if you tried this on the 1340 Taiwan lathe would it try to dance across the shop also what size is the Monarch and how much does it weigh . Thank . JM

      The 13x40 would not have been happy that is for sure. I would have backed off on the DOC's for sure. The Monarch is 16x54 and weighs close to 5K.

      @@hilltopmachineworks2131 is it 7 and 1/2 or 10 horsepower and what's the overall length of it I need to get me a bigger machine

      @@junkmannoparts9696 It is only a 5hp motor. I can measure it tomorrow. It is a lighter machine compared to the Monarchs of the 1940's era.
