'ANTICULT' highlights just how vital Decapitated have remained two decades deep into their career. Decapitated have long been undeniable masters of their craft and they are expanding their parameters with Anticult, which should elevate the band's profile beyond the death metal realm in which it has dominated for years.
"Anticult represents the legacy and future of Decapitated," said guitarist Vogg. "We're extremely proud of the record, in both the song compositions and the production. This is the best representation of our music and we're really excited for the world to hear it!"
The album's massive musical leap forward is evidenced by "Never." It's a song with an incredible bite and retains Decapitated's signature fury. But it's also undeniably catchy and takes up residence in your brain and stays there.
"'Never,' the first track we are showcasing from the record, is fast, it's technical, and most importantly, it's heavy," Vogg commented. "For us, it's what Decapitated is all about… and it will be really fun to play live. Enjoy it!"
Vocalist Rasta weighed in about the subject matter of "Never," offering this insight into the lyrical content: "There is no mystical, doomish fate waiting for us. The only judgment pending is our own. The simple relationship between cause and effect is what determines our future. We are now witnessing something that should never have happened - our homes have become our civilization's grave."

Music is great guys, it's unlike anything else on the market, it has personality, if i hear one track i can say without thinking, even if it's new "i know that, that's Decapitated", your music is different and unique, i can't say i don't miss your "Old Style", but in a perfect world, i would listen new records of "The old Decapitated" and "The new Decapitated" and everything would be fantastic, either way, you guys rock!

I prefer the new style over the old one, easily, and I've been a Decap fan from the start. Reason is that there are many bands doing albums like Winds of Creation, which for the most part was pretty standard death metal with a few twists. The new style is more exciting for me, and just sounds fresh. It sounds like Decapitated and no one else really sounds like them. It's been a nice evolution guys, keep going.

The first Decapitated album reminded of the classic Florida death metal sound like Morbid Angel & Deicide and is one of my favorites, just riff after riff after riff. They were just teenagers when they made it but to me, that was far more mature and evolved from a songwriting standpoint than what they're doing now which is mostly just groovy chugging & reminds me of a lot of the mainstream stuff such as Lamb of God and Gojira.

UnholySermons I mean by metal standards. log are objectively mainstream. as are Gojira, Amon amarth, Behemoth, etc.
Oh yes it's mainstream because they took on a different style? Good god you must love the same Incantation record over and over again.....
Not at all, plenty of bands change sound with great success (Death, Bathory, Paradise Lost, The Gathering). Decapitated changed sounds by slowing down, toning down the more technical edge, losing the death growls, and focusing more on groove than on riffs which makes them thus more accessible to fans of those very popular bands. Not saying they "sold out", I have no idea about their intentions, I'm just expressing my opinion on their change in style and why I don't like it.

New style is fucking awesome dudes! They really like what they're writing and don't give a shit about the butt hurt dudes leaving stupid ass comments.
I don't personally like the new style as much as the old stuff but you can't please everyone. Really the band should be doing what they enjoy and want to do because they have to live with it and them selves.

Well said. This is the war every creative person wages regardless of their chosen medium. The new album is excellent work.
That's it, people change and can't do the same thing over and over again. I'm glad they know it and keep doing some great material even if the style have change over the years

fan since negation. im enjoying the journey. tech death kids need to pull the stick out of their asses and understand riffs belong between weedle deedles. anticult is sick. almost sounds like old soilwork.

enough to confuse '' simplify the sound '' with '' evolution '', the band desperately seeks to sell to the mainstream
it's not only that you've completely changed your sound, but you've gone bland and boring. I can't listen to anything after the negation because it's just plain boring. Yeah theres a riff here or there that's cool, but then it's right back to boring, bland, and lame. Bands change all of the time, but it still needs to be good.
