'ANTICULT' highlights just how vital Decapitated have remained two decades deep into their career. Decapitated have long been undeniable masters of their craft and they are expanding their parameters with Anticult, which should elevate the band's profile beyond the death metal realm in which it has dominated for years.
"Anticult represents the legacy and future of Decapitated," said guitarist Vogg. "We're extremely proud of the record, in both the song compositions and the production. This is the best representation of our music and we're really excited for the world to hear it!"
The album's massive musical leap forward is evidenced by "Never." It's a song with an incredible bite and retains Decapitated's signature fury. But it's also undeniably catchy and takes up residence in your brain and stays there.
"'Never,' the first track we are showcasing from the record, is fast, it's technical, and most importantly, it's heavy," Vogg commented. "For us, it's what Decapitated is all about… and it will be really fun to play live. Enjoy it!"
Vocalist Rasta weighed in about the subject matter of "Never," offering this insight into the lyrical content: "There is no mystical, doomish fate waiting for us. The only judgment pending is our own. The simple relationship between cause and effect is what determines our future. We are now witnessing something that should never have happened - our homes have become our civilization's grave."

Wow this is the best Decapitated song in over 10 years. This shoots me right back to some of your finest work on Organic Hallucinosis, still one of the most underrated metal albums of all time. Fear factory styled riffing, voggs signature guitar solos, black metal dissonant riffs in the background for atmosphere. It's everything you want in a Decapitated song. Thanks guys, 10/10

I have been going on about this record saying that it is a total return to Organic Hallucinosis era Decap but with the hints of their newer groove sort of sound. Its the perfect compromise! Its so nice to see a Metalhead he doesn't have his head up his ass say "I wish they would just play Nihility over and over again". I'm guessing you've been a long time Decap fan then eh?
I agree. It has a different flavor, but yet the vibe reminds me a bit of "Poem of an Old Prison Man" or "Flash B(l)ack." It also harkens back to songs like "Three Dimensional Defect," from The Negation, methinks.
I dunno what the people saying this album is too simplistic are talking about. I guess they haven't listened to this song. lol

Totally agree, Organic is their best album in my opinion. But Anticult as a whole is the killer too :)) Love that stuff! \m/

Yeah, I agree with that. I personally prefer it over blood mantra, and this album feels more versatile. It has the rocky melodies of blood mantra, but it also has the heavy feel that hasn't been seen since organic hallucinosis. I am really digging this album, one of my favourite releases this year so far, along side the new immolation album. 10/10 in my books

Ryan Walker Just look out for their new album. I think you will like the newer songs like Never, Blasphemous Psalm, Instinct, Blood Mantra. They've changed quite a lot. Everything before their last album sounds very different.

Man, fans sure love to bitch about this band not being Death Metal anymore. Get over it. If Decap were still writing Death Metal, they'd sound exactly like a million other bands. We already have Suffocation, Immolation, and a million other copy/paste DM bands on this planet. They have their own identity within the genre and that is why I love them.
