Tony Stewart's Most DOMINANT Streak

  • Tony Stewart was and to this day is still ranked as one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time. With his extensive track record in all of motorsports as well as his dominant time in NASCAR it can not be denied. So with that said his driving at the Daytona International Speedway especially was the stuff of legends. In no other way was all of this shown than in the 9 year span from 2005 to 2013 where he won 7 of those 9 years' NASCAR Xfinity Series season opening races at Daytona. This is Tony Stewart's most dominant streak.

Tony Stewart said that he would give his 19 wins at Daytona for One Daytona 500. Knowing how talented he was, he probably would’ve made those wins up no problem.

‘06 Pepsi 400. Parents just got a divorce and my mom drove us from Texas to the race. Smoke was my driver and in the closing laps started to walk towards the finish line. He climbed and I gave him a hug amongst the crowd, and he put my Home Depot cap on for a second🥲. I’ll never forgot that moment. Thank you for the memories 💨

As a diehard Stewart fan, this is the one race I hated seeing him win, to the point I actively rooted against him winning because it started feeling like a jinx for the 500. Wins the Busch race, finds a way to lose the 500. 2008 in particular was a bad year because he flatout stopped winning in cup and won 6 races in the Nationwide series when they moved to tapered spacers. (He did eventually get what I consider his only undeserving win in Cup at Talladega 2, capping off a season I hated.)

We all thought Dale Earnhardt had the worst luck in the Daytona 500. That pales in comparison to Tony Stewart's horrific luck in the Great American Race. Earnhardt and Stewart share the same bond of never winning the 500 but could win every other event Daytona has ever held. The planets finally aligned right in 1998, but never aligned right once for Stewart. Maybe if Stewart had glued a lucky penny on his car dashboard, Stewart might've won the 500. Who knows.
