I can listen to Steve Jones and the Miami Vice soundtrack forever. I liked the Mercy cut and Steve Jones Video so much - I had to find his album (CD) and purchase the original album. I paid top dollar but, it was well worth it. Steve Jones selected the most original guitar and vocal selections in this song. Very impressive. Thank-you...!!!
Yes agree but I think deep down he always wanted to be a rock star rather then a punk rock star. Not sure he has a very high opinion of anything punk after 78. I prefer the N. Outsiders to this though. This album is poor ( my personal opinion).
He has already stated in multiple interviews that his prime motivation for making music was to get laid (he was a sex addict at some point). So can't blame him for trying to look and sound like other successful artists at the time.
I too found this song on Miami Vice. I now think Miami Vice was the best tv show in the use of music. So much of the show was immersed in music that complemented the video. Can't believe I haven't heard this before!
What a great song that typified the great tempo the music used in the series meshed with the series itself.....this song personifies Crockett and Tubbs perfectly!
The greatest guitar player ever,he change the world with the SeX PiStOs his accurate technique of palm mute-short/fast solos-power chords with slide from half tone or mixed with open strings-pick descendent slides to reach power chords or solo notes-play with the pickup selector with the neck pup totally without volume, are now copied by almost every guitarist.and the cool level up to the sky are his trademarks.love the pistols guitar sound, the 1996 tour is the best guitar sound i ve ever heard.
This is my second-favourite song from the "Miami Vice Vol. II" Television Soundtrack. Until earlier this year, I didn't recall who sang it; nor did I ever see the video. Now I have seen it, thanks to RUclips!
I bought this on vinyl when I lived in NY in 87. Rember thinking how cool this was. Thank you so so so so much for posting this. Fantastic tune (great album), great video, great memories.
"Homeboy"(1988), Michael Seresin, in the Night club scene with Rourke and Christopher Walken. One year after the greatest use in "Miami Vice" third series.
Always reminds me Of the beautiful semi rigs ( Peterbilts) out west roaring down the highways - all lit up in green and red lights - glowing, throbbing with caterpillar power
The album was recommended by the guy from the record store back then. You wouldn't imagine that it's SJ of the Pistols. It was among my fav albums that year
Wauuuuw , OMFG this one is absolutely great, my favorite song and I have never seen it on video... Thank you.... Steve´s so hot in this one:-) Yep the album is awesome...

Miami Vice was a 45 min music clip. Best ever.
They played the real songs with real singers.
Ahhh man. Be nice.😂
I wish they would make a follow up to the 2006 movie with Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx.
Season 3, episode 2 “Stone’s War”.

Imagine showing Jones this in 1977 and saying 'this is you in 10 years'.

He's a sell out...Who the hell does he thinks he is? David Coverdale??? No,can't touch him. But still a good tune! Hi from France :)
He has already stated in multiple interviews that his prime motivation for making music was to get laid (he was a sex addict at some point). So can't blame him for trying to look and sound like other successful artists at the time.

but with neurotic outsiders? or iggy pop? or in 1996 with the pistols? or 2007... live changes things but still rocks
One great song. Discovered through Miami Vice.
Didn't know this one....
+Vahid Masrour "Man, there`s our Rangers looking butch!"
