Gimli does not speak Elvish, he speaks Khuzdul. It's the language of the Dwarves. And it's also supposed to be impressive that Aragorn understood him, because the Dwarves are very protective of their language, both spoken and written.
Presumably Legolas had the privilege of hearing and learning Khuzdul after the Quest. Gimli loved and trusted him above any other being, so he certainly would have shared at least his secret Khuzdul name with Legolas.

The question about Gandalfs name should have been rephrased. "What was the name Tolkien originally gave Gandalf". Miranda was right with Olorin in the books.
The only reference to Bladorthin that I recall was in The Hobbit, in reference to Smaug's hoard, which contained a dwarven-made set of matching spears that had been made for King Bladorthin.
One contestant always gets the easier questions for some reason. Miranda had absurdly more difficult questions than Sarah. I’m glad it didn’t really matter and they still got to ask their questions.
Also, he wanders around the edges of the shire... The story was written Shire first, so i figured Trotter and whoever was the rightful king at the time in Tolkien's brain got combined at some point to reduce the number of characters.
To be fair, in my travels, i have noticed that there are many tribes that feel special. Not just the Scotts. Most people, connect with a group and think it is special.

Gimli definitely won the friendly comp between Legolas 😂 he literally says the twitching was down to the fact his axe… was implanted in his nervous system, which is actually a phenomenon that does happen , the jitters in the nerves after death & even hours after death. We’ve all seen the weird videos of headless frogs bodies jumping around in prep for cooking , or severed & skinned snakes still flailing around like 20 minutes after death…. I think Gimli was speaking literal fact when he said what he said , not just trying to win , the body was still fresh.. and the nerves would definitely of been acting up if we’re going to be in a realistic tandem with science/biology. However , I think both Gimli & Legolas are of a legendary combat status & in all ways of life & that’s why they click together so well & so quick.

Gondolin is an Elven city from the Sillmarillion. It was hidden in a circle of mountains and for many years Morgoth sought it. When he eventually found it he attacked it with great force, including dragons and Balrogs. It was whilst escaping from Gondolin that Glorfindel killed a Balrog and died himself.
Calling back to a few episodes ago, I have purchased my copy of Silmarillion in case you guys decide to move forward with some sort of reading and discussion on future episodes! Also love the trivia segments
