"i don't feel like mentioning names, but when oscar isaac and josh brolin did this"
i love this chaotic, hilarious woman so much.
Yeah I like her too
Then I asked for Oscar's number, and Jason-josh- whoever 😆
"Is he even in the film?". Chaotic indeed.
That was hilarious haha
You are not alone. 🤟😎💙
Mad respect for her refusal to let Charlotte Rampling's name out of the conversation.
TWICE! What's up with ignoring the amazing Charlotte Rampling?
@@tanyadohoney5217 I don't know but Rebecca was NOT having it.
Yeah! Does Stephen know who Charlotte is? Because looks like he didn't know.
Mrs Rampling plays an ENORMOUS role in the movie as the Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohaiem. huge. She can not on any account be left out. That said it kind of speaks to each role that none of them are able to be ignored.
@@tanyadohoney5217 Well her face was barely visible in the movie so it's easy to miss the actor
She has like no filter, which makes her a hilarious guest.
Like , I know right , like omg
@@RR_1138 dude ur so funny hahaha so funny
My favourite story was her “fanny fart” (queef) during a fight sequence in Mission Impossible 😂😂
@@egonprint Nordic sense of humour is amazing.
Miriam margolyes has no filter. Next to her this is a proper lady.
Her performance as lady Jessica WAS SO AMAZING.
The movie isn't even out yet...
@@SignificantNumberOfBeavers In US
@@SignificantNumberOfBeavers It its in Europe...
No it wasn’t. It’s wasdecent enough but far from amazing
@@SignificantNumberOfBeavers It's been out in Europe for 2 weeks. Saw it twice already. It's amazing, and Rebecca did a phenomenal - read: phenomenal - job. There is so much happening in her eyes, in her posture, and she fleshes out all the different facets of Jessica's character beautifully.
I like that she remembered the entire Litany except the famous part lol
right lol
i kinda liked that she thought of "fear is the little death" cuz to me thats the rub
exactly - made me fell in love with her. I hope they make many more of the movies - I will go see them all.
She's lowkey hilarious. No wonder Stephen didn't want to end her time.
They have time?
She's surprisingly chaotic.... I love it 😂
Wait, this woman is hilarous. I need more of her now!
Watch “Doctor Sleep”, it’s one of the better Stephen King adaptations. Which was an absolute shock.
i LOVE how Stephen asked what fear was, hoping she would remember her dialogues and proving she does more to this character than just act it. She completely embraced Jessica's narrative as if it was her own, I absolutely adored her. Points for Stephen for not freaking out and completely fangirling. Very tough to do.
"proving she does more to this character than just act it" where did you get that impression? She remembered a line she acted lol.
I'm obviously going to have to re-familise myself with the book - for THIS *alone* Frank Herbert deserves eternal praise - “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” - (I almost remembered it - almost! been many years since read Dune) - since I now struggle with Anxiety & PTSD - this is actually a very timely reminder -
I use that mantra all the time. Every exam, stressful situations.
I first read it when I was 17 or 18, and it had an enormous effect on me. The first time I had come across the concept of ecology, and the most complicated book I had ever read. The characters were so vivid, and the dialogue was so precise. As soon as she started reciting that speech it came straight back to me, and Lady Jessica was just there! I have been looking forward to this for a long time.
Easier said than done, but conquer your fears and anxiety, nothing can hold you back.
.
Julia Connell -- Thanks for typing this out. I tried to read the book like she did but it just didn't work out for me. I suffer horrible fears so I will print this out and keep repeating it. Hopefully I can go through the fear too. Love the cat pic!
I knew Colbert was a Lord of the Rings fan so it's no surprise that he's a Dune fan. I love watching him do an interview related to a work he has deep knowledge of.
She's so chaotically charismatic it's so alluring
She was so good in Doctor Sleep, didn't know she was in Dune. I'm really looking forward to it.
First saw her in a Mission Impossible, years before Doctor Sleep
@@arodriguez8762 and more beforehand for me, but to me I still see Rose the Hat 🥀
Saw her first in Life.. impressed since then, in multiple ways
Totally! I really enjoyed that movie
Well, hi there!
She's so much fun and wildly talented.
You always can count on a woman over 35 being the only one to remember the other actresses over 35 in the movie. Thank you Rebecca. So far, she is the best character in the story as well.
I could watch an entire movie of just her doing lady Jessica’s backstory
My one take-away from Dune is that Rebecca is one of the best actresses working currently.
She's great in SILO too. And Dr. Sleep.
@@ChrisRasch Agreed. Rebecca, Toni Collette, Olivia Colman & Michelle Williams are who come to mind for great performances the last decade.
She's so funny...very quick w her jokes and sooo much charisma.
She is that good, capturing the essence of Lady Jessica just by talking to Dennis . I can understand why she didn’t had time to read the whole book, it is a complex story, quite a tome. But she did great and definitely nailed it.
It is my new favourite movie. It is THAT good! Rooting for part two to happen ASAP.
How is the gom jabbar scene ?
Favorite movie? I found it annoyingly loud, with bad "music" and terribly incoherent.

I thought rebecca is like serious person, but she's the whole mood??? I really love her in Dune and so many movies of her wow
She has the cutest mom humor. Ironically she’s such a powerful and graceful mother figure in the film.
Saw the movie yesterday, it’s truly brilliant, can’t believe we have to wait how knows how long for Part Two!
Where could you see it?
they are readying production , to film early in 22
@@ktom5262 in France! It was released in most of Europe two weeks ago
I saw it last sunday, it was nice to go to the movies for the first time since lockdown!🍿
3 years or never. which is LOTR kinda delays, all good. all good things take time.
Real life persona: Chaotic Good, but plays a Lawful Evil character (that may or may not have a character arc, I don't want to spoil here and Evil is of course often a question of perspective in Dune).
Love it.
I think her character is true neutral. The Reverend Mother (Charlotte Rampling) is lawful evil.
@@metalore yes you are right.
Wasn’t aware she was going to be in this. I was looking forward to it before, but now I’m really looking forward to it! 👏🏻
She’s drop dead gorgeous!! 😲❤️
It was the first movie i watched in cinema since the start of this covid mess and it was a very good option. The movie is visually and acoustically stunning and deserves the big screen in a movie theater. Really impressive.
Rebecca Ferguson is PERFECTION!
Amazing actress! Plus, I love Rebecca's outfit and the pump! Love it!!!
Rebecca is AMAZING deserves all the recognition!! One of the bests of her generation 💖💖
she's hilarious - but WHY does Jason Momos owe her money - that's all I care about!
He doesn't owe her any money ,the way she said it hilarious 🤣
She will always be Rose the Hat to me. 🌹
I was most impressed by her first outing in the MI films with Cruise.
For me she will always be Anna in Nya Tider (New Times), old Swedish soap opera
Indeed. She nailed that role. So HOT too.
well hi there
Well, hi there...
I've always loved Charlotte Rampling, and the Dune series is awe-some.
She has been awesome in everything I've seen her in, can't wait to see this!
She is simply phenomenal as Lady Jessica, already saw the movie twice.
Agree. She was definitely the best in the movie!
I love it when Colbert kind of fan boys
Nice. I’m so looking forward to watching this when my city gets out of lockdown. I remember watching the 1984 film with my nerdy friends and thoroughly enjoying it. I finally read the book 3 or 4 years ago and found out what a personal adventure David Lynch took towards the end of the film. I really hope this one is a a bit truer.
The movie has one big flaw. It is only part one. I wouldn't have minded sitting another 3 hours in the theatre.
I've seen it two weeks ago. I can honestly say "Dune is the only movie that is better than the book it's based on, but I wouldn't have understood the film if i hadn't read the book." It is a brutally faithful adaptation, no handholding or babying the audience. I went with a friend who knew nothing about it and who didn't understand half of it. He still texts me about how floored he is by the experience. It's awesome.
@@K__a__M__I I have not read the book and still understood it. That is one of the points critics make, that the film is rather slow because part one is mostly exposition. Of course if you have read the book, you will probably understand more, because it is more detailed.
She's fantastic. No question about it. I do have to say, though, that Francesca Annis' portrayal of Lady Jessica in David Lynch's version is one of the few highlights from that film
And I thought Jennifer Connelly was going to remain my SOLE Top 1 Hollywood crush for all time. Goddamn.
Talented, gorgeous with a great sense of humor I love this woman so much
but you didn't say "chaotic." that seems to be the faddish thing to say right now
This is such a fun interview
i want to see this in the cinema.
also looking forward to watching “the foundation “ on apple tv, hopefully its good as the trailer & book
Have seen it last weekend! Magnificent! I have heard about the books, mostly from my Sci-fi obsessed cousin, but have not read them myself yet, and this movie so, i don't know, the mood, the spirit of different planets, the shots are perfect, you can feel foreboding coldness of Caladan and dry heat of Arakis, and the music, the score made me sit on chair's edge entire time, just waiting what else to befall the ancient honorable house Atreides. Jason Issacs as a loving father and true leader of his people, and Lady Jessica, such complex woman, a concubine, a true love, a fearful mother, and strick teacher, and real believer, and also the one who gone against her teachers and sect. Paul, just the boy, who has to grow up fast, and also possibly a messiah... Every character was fleshed out. I can't wait, it's gonna be like 2 years till the next one! I tried to read up the summary of the entire saga, but damn, it's more mysterious and kind of crazy than it looked at the first look into the movie, politics, high tech and religions all intertwined, you don't know what could be true and what is the manipulations of one or another figure, and even they are not sure. It is Game if Thrones in Star Wars 😅
Dune is amazing, Top 10 ever, for me. I haven’t read the books. Definetley worth the cinema experience. Today I went for the third time, that has never happened before.
Dune has been out in Germany for some time now.
I love her more than words can say
I got excited watching this interview to watch it again. :)
Charlotte Rampling was the hot babe from the 1960s and 1970s. When you remember them when they were young, you have fond memories of them such as James Brolin in the Goonies (1985).
Josh
@@KaitainCPS Thanks sorry, my bad.
If folks skip this to the point that Denis Villeneuve doesn't get to make part two, I'll be forever Harkonnen-level annoyed that Dune was taken from me.
Absolutely!
She’s stunning!! 😍 Not sure if I’ve ever seen her before. Love her accent. Curious, I Googled up on her. She’s Swedish! No wonder. Swedish men and women have great jawlines.😄(my favourite first male model is a Swedish.😄 ) Now I’m really interested in this movie as Colbert is so excited about it, plus would like to see her work for the first time.
she’s great in the greatest showman and doctor sleep!
She's half Swedish half English actually
She's so beautiful in Dune, her role was a gift for Dune.
CHARLOTTE RAMPLING... Stephen! Pay attention! hehe
Love she’s voice ❤
I saw the movie the litany of fear was so under represented. It was Jessica whispering these words. Up until I researched and realize it. It is amazing and I will cherish those words.
The love I have for this woman is immeasurable
If ever I met Jason Mamoa I'd definitely use those precious moments to remind him he owes Rebecca Ferguson 40 dollars
Timothee and Rebecca actually looked like mother and son in the movie. They even have similar eye color, it's insane
Wish they would have included Bautista in their run down, he's made his bones in Hollywood.
Beautiful Rebecca, awesome actress.
Her performance in the film is great
OMG I had a David Lynch moment as she described the storys of old within Dune I realized and said "Jessica" before she mentioned her role. Goose bumps.
I read this bookwhen I was 15. It was amazing, and I've read all of them, including Herbert's sons, since then.
Its a must read!
Norma Cenva and Vorian Atreides is my favourite characters after wotsername in Silmarillion
I had never seen Rebecca Ferguson before I saw her last year in "Doctor Sleep". Suddenly, I see her all over the place in movies.
she's now my favorite wine aunt.
"Sir, you're rambling."
"What?"
"Charlotte Rampling."
Love her!
How can a human be this gorgeous?
Should have mentioned Sharon Duncan-Brewster in the list. She is an important character and gave an amazing performance.
She’s so lovely
Amazing movie. Rebecca NAILS the part of Lady Jessica.
How can anyone be lovelier than her ❤️
I don't understand when people find it hard to read Dune. Isn't it amazingly written? Momumentally ;and pacing is good.
There's a lot of information to absorb. A whole new universe to visualize. If someone's used to quick easy reads, Dune is quite a hill to climb.
It’s very dense. A lot of world building dumped on you very quickly.
It is beautiful and fascinating.
Beautifully nervous, intelligent and funny woman 😍
Even though they were sent to Arrakis as isolation, it was very important because of the spice that was produced necessary to the empire. The political intrigue and the palpable danger of the planet itself because of the creatures that created the spice was a great read. I read Herbert in 1975-6 and still remember the story. The storm troopers described were plagiarized by Lucas and company in Star Wars.
Well there was that whole group in Germany before Dune was written. Herbert didn't invent storm troopers.
I'm a total nerd for all of the Dune books.
I have a "Dune" book on my book shelf and I am in doubt if I want to read it or not. It's really like game of thrones with a lot of characters but I find it hard to follow the storyline with a lot of characters. So I get you, Rebecca 🙃
She knocked it out outta park
i love her omg
High five indeed 🖐🏼
I love her ACCENT..
Love her!!!!
The Bene Gesserit mantra from Dune is: "Fear is the mind-killer, the little death that brings about complete annihilation. I will face my fear, I will let it pass through me, and then I will look to see where it has gone." Been using it for years. I love her for making a fuss- twice- about Charlotte Rampling.
I could so easily tolerate an order of calculating, hot bishes, coming after me for muh wood.
ay yo, the other parts to this interview should be linked in the description.
She is so good in Dune
When will Dune be available in South Africa?
I think it's even more anticipated than No Time to Die ,
Seen it 3 times in the cinema already
This is great. No more social distancing and no more remote interviews.
I absolutely ADORE Rebecca! How could you not??
Pure gorgeousness ❤
She is slowly becoming one of my favorite actresses because she is so great :)
YESSS HIGH 5 BAE GOOD JOB
Her energy is so weird. But it’s authentic so I approve 😊
She didn't read the book maybe because she's swedish. People from different countries might have different priorities
She's Natural af..
She has no layer no filter on her .....take it or think whatever you want
Most people fake it thinking the opposite person may feel low
I guess she also isn't on Socials ....but thats good for her
She's absolutely unbelievable
One second I'm like "Oh hell, she didn't even have to act for this movie", the next I'm like "Oh shit, she's great".
Not gonna lie...after seeing Dune. Major crush now.
I love her she's awesome
she has such cool aunt vibes
Love her in mission impossible
I hope her Mission Impossible Ilsa character not be killed off in the next Mission Impossible-7 and 8 films , i love to see more Ilsa
It's strange, because she reminds me so much of Ingrid Bergman (Casablanca), who is also Swedish and played a character named Ilsa working for the French underground.
@@geomancer6371 yes , like Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca , it will be suck if such beauty and energic character be killed off in the end , thats why i always saying this comment
