There's a reason Tarja is still considered a legit goddess in South America to this day. The tours Nightwish did there in their early years, filling stadiums, the magnificent compositions and her angelic voice topping it up... Oh man.
What angers me about the whole Tarja - Floor debates that rage on is the this level of talent is rare in this world and they are both supremely talented singers. Why do you have to pick one and denigrate the other?

I wished I had the voice of Tarja my GOD. So damn powerful.
she has an incredible vocal range and she doesn't force her voice. a month ago she released a new song "eye of the storm" with a little tango style where a bandoneon is heard. and next month she is going to release a new album with the best songs from her 15-year solo career. I am super anxious. maybe you could also listen to something different from her like the cover world in my eyes by Depeche mode.

Also, about Tarja and Floor, they are actually friends and have been friends since Tarja was still in Nightwish. They have sung together. In the early days when Floor just joined Nightwish Tarja invited Floor to sing the last song in her show to show everyone that there is no bad blood between them. The songwas Nightwish's cover of Over the Hills and Far Away. It can be found on RUclips if you want to react to it. Though, the video cuality isn't that good but you can still hear them pretty well.
Tarja and Floor have also done instagram lives together.
Tarja it’s the unique one who can go to hell with her amazing low dark voice and the sky with her bright and light high voice. My favorite singer ever!

Deep Silent Complete, Beauty & The Beast and Walking in the Air from that concert are wonderful, just, so beautiful, and Fantasmic III is super fun!
Especially Beauty & the Beast is super special to me, it's from their very first album, the first multi-chaptered song Tuomas wrote, and the ending with Jukka and Tarja in the very last minute of the song is such a jaw dropper. 💞 As always enjoyed your reaction and am looking forward to more! 😊
I only looked up Muse's version after watching the woodstock version with Tarja from 2016. Note that woodstock was in Poland and had no affiliation with either festival in New York State. I suspect lawyers may have sent a © violation letter to cease & desist the ™ infingement. Someone said in a comments section that they changed the name to masters of rock, but I know nothing about that beyond their claim. I do know that this show predates 2018. After her 40th birthday she now sports a tattoo on her left upper arm and lower left leg which I think is a rose or roses.
Anyway after hearing the Muse version if you did not know who did it first, you won't be able to tell from their performance.
Her band has 3 guitarists, keyboards, drums and a cellist.
To get it out of the way Tarja and Floor are friends. There has never been animosity between them.
I understand that a ground rule Floor set before joining the band on stage is she will never sing those songs that were aimed at Tarja. Like Bye Bye Beautiful. Why anyone should think they would have issues makes no sense. Now why Annette may have issues with Floor is obvious less why she should have issues with Tarja other then being compared to her. Natural but irriatating. Nor does she deserve hate for succeding Tarja. It was a year after the fact she joined. Having nothing to do with her nor why she should not have joined other than spiteful/angry fans who think NW should have broken up after I guess? I am sure the record label would not have been well pleased since they were under contract for another album and tour.
OK that done. I love Tarja as a person, performer, artist. She exudes grace, charm, warmyh, generosity. No ego or "diva" like qualities in the perjorative sense.
Everyone who works with her or knows her says she is a great human being. I'll take them at their word.
Now I think you find an excellent time to jump on board the Tarja fan wagon. She will be releasing her 10th studio album My Winter Storm early next month. (December 2022 for future readers) it is her best of album celebrating 15 years of solo work. The official lyric video is out now.
She has a 3.5 octave range. She can reach up to D's and E's I have seen but don't have the musical knowledge to confirm that statement by others. But those who do say she does and its enough for me.
Her training includes musical education in high school and formal post secondary in a German music academy. Interruptted by her NightWish career. But after she went back to complete her masters degree.
She has been super busy between festivals, Christmas albums, studio albums & tours, live events with 2 concert DVDs. Her work on TV as a music coach on The Senior Voice Finland. Open to those 40+ and this past season, her 2nd her student won.
She wrote an autobiography during lockdown called singing in my blood. As well as being a wife and mother. Her and Marcello will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on New Years Eve. Their daughter Naomi an adorable 10 years old now. Making a home in N.E. Coastal Spain. I would call that succesful. Of course having your own record label and being able to do side projects like work on stripped down sounds with famous artists and film videos in Antigua in the Carribean must be nice to do it, in the middle of winter 😁.
I think it is safe to say she is happy, succesful and loving life.
Version from Woodstock is the best. For those who didn't know, that wasn't in Woodstock in US, it was part of name of music festival in Poland.
I recommend song "Victim of Ritual" from her original stuff, live from Woodstock 2016. :)
They put a reverb on this version which is pretty cool, but yes, Woodstock is pure power

I like Woodstock performance because you can hear her vocals more clearly. And the atmosphere is fantastic. I highly recommend for you to check her original, Victim of ritual from Woodstock 2016. And her other stuff form Argentina 2012 concert. She`s awesome.
Glad you're taking the little escalation in the comment section with such good humor! It was a proper mess, idk why people need to be so mean about it, everyone should be free to have preferences, we can't all love the same things equally, that's not how taste works! I love Tarja to bits but if someone likes another singer more than her it would be so silly to get worked up over it! :)
And about Tarja's solo career, there's an interview from 2002 where Tarja and Tuomas (in their mid 20s then) were asked if they were learning things from Marko, who had joined the band recently and is older than them. Tarja said Marko was so free in the way he performed on stage and that was something to learn. Now in her 40s she is more carefree and joyful on stage than ever and has grown so much as a person and an artist and I'm sooo happy for her! 💟
I'll always love her years with Nightwish but I'm also super proud of how good her own songs are. One of my favorite Tarja songs is Innocence live in Metropolis Studios London, it's a great great performance! If you wanna check out one of her originals :) take care!

you may wanna check out Victim of Ritual from woodstock 2016, she goes nuts and so does the crowd. Same with Stargazers from buenas aries 2011, It's a NW song she sings with her solo band. Energy for that one is rediculous. Also a duet, Demons in you from Wacken with Allisa White-Gluz of Archenemy. Tarja's clean with Allisa's growl is amazing. Finally, Within Temptation's Paradise from Hellfest or Master's of Rock with Tarja is a beautiful duet where you can see Tarja and Sharon Den Andel loving, working with each other.

I like your reactions - especially expressions on your face! I love Tarja, such a unique voice and artist. Badass is a good description for her on stage and if you want to see more of that, then I second the recommendation for her 2011 Stargazers performance and Victim of Ritual Woodstock 2016. Enjoy!

This might be late but a very underated song is "Walking in the air", i think its a british christmas song but by nightwish. Its so good.
Walking in the air is a song for an animated Christmas movie without dialogue from Europe. Orginally done with a boys choir member. Covered by NW. It is part of the encore from Wishes to Eternity December 29, 2000. Tampere Finland. Very loved concert among the fanbase. Pre Marko.

Tarja is much more heavyrock than Nightwish. Some hits symphony metal Queen Tarja is so deep, almost Sabbath but pure high vocal. Personal Tarja is laughing happy woman with humor and energy. She surprise her fans, change genre if she want. Ballads are beautiful, she sing like angel. I like very very much her music

When you said the song is "theatrical" you were right in part - "Supremacy" was a candidate as a theme song to 2012 James Bond movie "Skyfall" , lost to Adele's "Skyfall".
I think Hellfest version 2016 is the best for live performance.

The Woodstock version is probably my favorite version. She doesn’t use the voice effects in that one. I know Muse uses the voice effects, but I’m just not that into it.
