I have the Emperor Scorpion in 10mm which is basically the 220 Elite with the bronze/fde cerakote and it is a f’ing awesome pistol! It’s a heavy sumbitch but with the 10mm and some of the heavy stuff from Buffalo Bore, I can’t think of a better 10mm platform than the 220 Elite. I’ve had G20s, sometimes carry a G29 and have had several 1911s in 10mm but the 220 Elite is by far my choice for a solid 10mm pistol. The only downside to it is it’s very limited 8 round mags which isn’t really a big deal since it’s not exactly a “fighting” gun. I’d choose a G20 or a G40 if I were going to war and was going to carry 10mm.
I fired 767 rds of Magtech 180gr. FMJ (advertised velocity 1,250 fps) through mine and had a FTF and a FTE. I fired 46 rds. of Underwood 165gr. Gold Dots (advertised velocity 1,400 fps). No issues. The pistol is more accurate than I am. My only “concern” is, with the magazine removed, slide closed, and striker at rest (uncocked), the slide rattles excessively on the rails… a great deal more than the 13 other P320 variants in inventory. I absolutely love that Sig made the 15 rd. magazine as small as possible. However, it should be about 2-3mm longer to help seat a loaded magazine on a closed slide. I’m hoping an XTEN with a 3.9/4 in. barrel becomes available. While I have taken to carrying my XTEN AIWB, the time to draw from concealment is a tad slower than my EDC (prior to the XTEN) M18 carried AIWB.

Now if you had some underwood in the 1500-1600 range then yea you got some pretty hot ammo.
Not a 180 grain. A 180 grain +p does about 1250-1300. A 220 grain hardcast +p does around 1,100. Underwood’s heavy hardcast only does about 1,150-1,200 at the bore
I carry a standard Sig P365 with the 12 round mags converted with Magguts Inc. plus 2 kits to turn them into a 14 plus 1. With good quality defensive ammo like Hornady critical duty I am not really motivated to try something like this new Sig 10mm. So why should I go for a new gun in a new caliber? Is it worth the extra cost of buying a new gun and stocking new ammo?
Same here, I carry a P365 with the magguts kits in my primary and backup mag. For me, it's the dream setup. 14+1 in a gun I can still carry wearing gym shorts! It's going to need to be a really amazing gun for give up the convivence the P365 offers.
Taran's a gun guy?? Not sure this was an accurate review or informative. BUT, I was shocked to see that man go to town straight out of the box with that 10mm and was tearing down the targets. Awesome!
180@1100 fps is not 'hot stuff' for 10mm, and most 10mm is decidedly NOT hot stuff. When you're looking for hot 10mm loads think more like 220@1200 fps.
"No its their first one I'm pretty sure" (10mm) No, as a supposed firearms expert i expect you to compare it to the p220 (8rd) chambered in that but no you don't even know that firearm exists. Unbelievable
S w made 10mm a long time ago so did colt but the FBI couldn't handle the recol so we made a 10 short 40 cal,my colt doesn't like flat pointed bullets, any advice!
This pistol is a dream with the HKP compensator installed. It’s even heavier, but very controllable with full power bear rounds. Someone please come up with a very low profile slide release. I have the same grip issues having grown up with a 1911.
Full-power 10mm is leaps and bounds better/more powerful than 9mm. Look at Underwood's and Double-Tap's offerings. The 10mm factory offerings from most manufacturers run the gamete from .40 S&W to near 41 Magnum. Not all 10mm is true 10mm specs or loaded to original 10mm Norma specs. Look on RUclips with hardcast taking African game.
Feed it Underwood, Double Tap, and Buffalo Bore before you christen it A PROPER 10mm. 10mm loaded to 40S&W specs is not 10mm .................... .357 Magnum plus energy output is required IMO.
Taran is basically like "It shoots where I point it without looking. It's good." He's a ballistics kung fu master. I actually recently bought a Glock 44 for fun and ordered the TTI fiber optic sights. I emailed TT asking if it works for a 19 will it work for a 44? The reply was "It'll put the bullet where you point it, they're pretty universal." I instantly added it to the cart. Kinda just confirmed what I was thinking. "Just point the f#cking gun at what you want to hit." I loved that reply though.
Sig is going to have to do something with that slide release. There is way too many of us out there who ride their thumbs up high. I’m not changing my grip or having to even think about doing so when things turn to shit. Figure it out Sig and I’ll buy it.
Most of the 320’s have a ledge/gate around the slide release for this reason. But then again, Glock never figured it out really well either and it’s mostly aftermarket parts like the CAG Works release that moves the entire thing out of the way.
Most people also rack the slide instead of using the slide release as well, so it's a non issue if you know how to count. On mine, I wrap my dominate hands thumb around the support thumb, which fixes it and still provides a good locked grip on the gun.
Why do people still espouse this “if you can count!” stuff? In a gun fight you’ve got many more problems to think about than “was that 14 or 15? Was it 15 but I also had a round in the chamber..so which is it?”
Interesting how they commented about their thumbs riding high on the release and causing them issues. I actually switched to a p320 recently (well I'm still sort of in transition) in part because I've started using the thumbs forward grip and the p320 is pretty much the only gun I can shoot where my thumbs don't interfere. Glocks, beretta m9's, m&p 1.0, 2.0, and shield 1.0, and sig p365 all have issues where my thumb won't let them lock back.
I don't think you did the research because there might be an older one but I know for a fact the Sig P220 10mm they released that 5 or 6 years ago. I bought the Hunter in camo for bears here in Alaska then I got a Glock 20 also because it holds more rounds.
Lol love it, guys. Thinking of getting my first Sig in the style of a P320 M18. Never played with the P320 platform before but the M18 was growing on me when I played with one at my local. They definitely have a good feel, good ergonomics.
Taran was being very professional lol he doesn’t like that XTEN. lol the G20 and the XD-M Elite 3.8″ Compact in 10mm is better and feels more sturdy. I’m sure Sig will come out with a more sturdy and heavier 10mm weighing around 43.5 ozs. 💪🏾

Not a 180 grain. A 180 grain +p does about 1250-1300. A 220 grain hardcast +p does around 1,100. Underwood’s heavy hardcast only does about 1,150-1,200 at the bore
Seriously looking at this instead of G20SF for Montana spring bear b/u. My old eyes really like the idea of being rds ready straight from the box.
Just wait, being Sig you can bet on a million diff variants coming out soon with better features and a higher price tag ofc.
I think they made a p220 in 10mm already. So, this isn't their 1st 10mm.
Taran's a gun guy?? This dude just called 180gr 10mm going 'almost' 1100 some "hot stuff, as most 10mm is"
Ehhhh , wrong
1200ft/s 200gr 10mm is a full spec load
A 180gr load will need to be 1300 ft/s for a real 10mm
Almost ever single manufacture underloads 10mm to .40 s&w SAMMI pressures, even hollow points
Grizzly, Underwood, Buffalo Bore are the only ammo companys that load a 10mm to full spec
Rant over
10 mm my favorite round.
The worst is the 357 Sig, snappy recoil in the Springfield XD I had years and years ago.
Not sure this was an accurate review or informative. BUT, I was shocked to see that man go to town straight out of the box with that 10mm and was tearing down the targets. Awesome!
How does Taran have access to guns not in the California roster? And firearms with regular mags. Not those low cap mags.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
I love the 10mm round, I'd like to try this thing.
The 220 was offered in the 10mm for years.
This pistol is a dream with the HKP compensator installed. It’s even heavier, but very controllable with full power bear rounds. Someone please come up with a very low profile slide release. I have the same grip issues having grown up with a 1911.
Sounds like its hitting hard , huge difference from 9mm ?
Full-power 10mm is leaps and bounds better/more powerful than 9mm. Look at Underwood's and Double-Tap's offerings. The 10mm factory offerings from most manufacturers run the gamete from .40 S&W to near 41 Magnum. Not all 10mm is true 10mm specs or loaded to original 10mm Norma specs. Look on RUclips with hardcast taking African game.
@@johnw4999 Thank you
@@DDBAA24 You’re welcome.
Aluminum or tungsten frame would really up the game
can Taran upgrade a CZ pistol..? I´d like to have my P-10C upgraded by them..
Very cool to see it run that fast 💨.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁
Still wondering why no major manufacturers every went with a 357 mag semi auto.
U can change out the slide lock to the smaller one that’s out of the way
First 10mm from sig? What about the 220??
Wait, so Sig switched the P22X series to the large extractor but switched to the small extractor for the P320 series?
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
I’m a huge fan of Josh and Taran. Sig made a 10mm in the 220. Good day gentlemen.
Actually it’s not there first one they have had 10mm for a long time. Sig p220
The best part of the review is the Bathory shirt! \m/
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
The boxtrolls reference, taran is a movie nerd. Love him for it.
Having a P320 with a manual safety helps to eliminate the problem of riding the slide stop in my opinion.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁
Full-power 10mm makes Taran's shooting look like a normal person shooting a 9mm.
That was nowhere near full power 10mm auto.
They do make firearms in 10mm outside of the x10, 220 and their 1911 you can get in 10mm
Bathory..... that's old school 🤘
it is NOT the fist one ... they make a legion 10 mm that came out way before this one
Tarans ability to control 10mm recoil is impressive
Not the Only 10mm Sig Sauer makes. They have a P220 varient and their Tac-ops 1911 type pistols.
How would a thumb on the slide release cause a jam? Sorry, try again.
It's good."
He's a ballistics kung fu master.
I actually recently bought a Glock 44 for fun and ordered the TTI fiber optic sights. I emailed TT asking if it works for a 19 will it work for a 44? The reply was "It'll put the bullet where you point it, they're pretty universal."
I instantly added it to the cart. Kinda just confirmed what I was thinking. "Just point the f#cking gun at what you want to hit."
I loved that reply though.
I have a Sig P220 elite 10mm. Got it used about 9-10 years ago. This is not Sigs first 10mm.
Great video Guys love your experience and expertise.!
Josh Barnett with a 10 mm trained by Taran is really scary.
I love it! Nice honest review as always.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁
Is that the one that keeps shooting people accidentally?
I like the old Sig lines better personally. Hard to beat a good P226.
Why do people still espouse this “if you can count!” stuff? In a gun fight you’ve got many more problems to think about than “was that 14 or 15? Was it 15 but I also had a round in the chamber..so which is it?”
@@milesstover3724 Completely agree!
Now that I think about it, if I could only have one pistol, it would be the 226. Tough, reliable, and accurate.
I find it funny how myself and many others have come to the comment section to correct Taran that the P220 exists in 10MM.
The Sig P220 is made in a 10mm, and it is a very fine pistol!
SIG has made 10mms before in the P220 platform both single action and double action with de cocker.

Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
I don't think you did the research because there might be an older one but I know for a fact the Sig P220 10mm they released that 5 or 6 years ago. I bought the Hunter in camo for bears here in Alaska then I got a Glock 20 also because it holds more rounds.
It’s not sigs first 10mm. Just the first in the p320 line
1:35 ❤️😂😂😂
15 rds is pretty cool, and seems like a good no frills package.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
Lol love it, guys. Thinking of getting my first Sig in the style of a P320 M18. Never played with the P320 platform before but the M18 was growing on me when I played with one at my local. They definitely have a good feel, good ergonomics.
I have the m17 and shot the m18. The m18 is a solid choice
I’ve got a M17 and I absolutely love it. Highly recommended.
Not Sigs first 10mm offering.Looks like a keeper through.
Dude he’s wearing a Bathory shirt that fucking awesome
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
Taran was being very professional lol he doesn’t like that XTEN. lol the G20 and the XD-M Elite 3.8″ Compact in 10mm is better and feels more sturdy. I’m sure Sig will come out with a more sturdy and heavier 10mm weighing around 43.5 ozs. 💪🏾
180 grain at 1100 ft per second is not hot stuff for 10 mm please stop spreading rumors Sammy specs for 10 mm is 200 grain at 1200 feet per second
So you say after shooting 500 rounds of expensive 10 mm it will run flawlessly? 😳
I love my X10. It's comfortable, accurate and overall a beast!!!
So is it actually a turd that doesn't run right out of the box? And you have to run 500 rounds through it to function correctly?
Sig's done the P210 and P220 in 10mm, but this is their first 10mm plastic pistol. Pretty sure he was baiting these comments for the algorithm.
10mm is a real man’s caliber who has a few bucks.
HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON THAT? THAT WOULDNT BE ON THE CALI ROSTER?
Nopenbut he's exempt because he has a mfg ffl.
TTI is literally a weapons manufacturer so they have an FFL.... they have already showcased a full auto suppressed MPX and normal ARs plenty of times.
@@aaron4820 ohhh for sure
@@on2wheels378 oh got it
You all need to just move. I moved to Nevada 10 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. But dont bring those Commiefornia leftist politics with you.
Sig has made several 10mm pistols. I remember them making several P220's, i.e. the P220 Legion, P220 Hunter, I think that they made a P220 Scorpion, P220 Stainless Elite. I'm pretty sure that they also made a few 1911's in 10mm also, I think that they also made a 1911 Tac Ops in 10mm.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
Gentlemen, Sig has been making 10mm's for years. Several different varients in the P220 platform. And 1100 fps is weak 10mm ammo. C'mon guys
From what I see in my ammo its 1500 fps at least. But will check tomorrow. 1100 sounds like 45 acp speeds.
@@1014p I have 4 different 10mm. My range ammo is 1250 fps and I have Underwood that gets above 1600fps. I've seen my carry loads on a Doplar chrono
It’s not their first 10mm. They’ve been making the p220 in 10mm for a few years.
Sig makes a 220 in 10mm or they use to.
An aluminum frame or something would be perfect on that.
Dude, the sig p220 has been out since at least the 1980s. Its there iconic hammer fired 10mm and 45ACP model.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
1:35 wtf is that 😂😂😂
That's the precious
No, you're wrong: the Sig P220 also comes in 10mm in a few different variations.
Congratulations⤴️contact on claming your prize.....🎁🎁🎁🎁
This is now my favorite pistol with the 10mm rounds. Beats the Glock because it will fire frozen at 30 degrees fahrenheit
Not Sig's first 10mm. They made a P220 in 10mm
