I am absolutely engrossed in watching you build, how to accomplish it basically all my yourself and throughly enjoy learning about your plans and planting. Stay safe, be careful , take it easy and keep warm.
Love your videos, your explanations, and your family. I've traveled through Scandinavia and Finland. Stone foundations as you have done are traditional. Great job. Keep the videos coming!
Sorry, how solid foundation should be for the greenhouse? Can it be simply placed big rocks, and wood on top? Is there any other worries other than wind blowing it away?
I'm going to make greenhouse next to the cabin so we'll see :) I'm planning to use just natural stones there, but of course there can not be big gaps between the stones so that the air doesn't blow through the greenhouse.
@@FinnishPlayground Thank you. I`m just wondering about having stones under wooden structure instead of some anchoring metal sticks or something.. We are in northern Sweden, so similar climate wise. And we are about to build greenhouse 4x9m; north wall will be covered with planks, metal and eventually little hill, so that heat is not lost from north side. And paths inside the greenhouse we`ll dig deep so that cold air sinks down. Cover with polyethylene of good quality. Wood frame will be sitting on stones and maybe by north wall we can somehow anchor it, so that wind doesn`t blow it away :) ...i`m not sure what other dangers can be if we don`t use conventional fundaments?
@@ForestHealth If you can get some pretty big corner stones and the structure/frame is strong itself I don't see any worries there. The frost may move the foundation little bit so it's good to have some flexibility in your window attachments.

As you were saying that you were kinda lazy by putting those small stones there, i was thinking the same for myself, like oh, how come i havent seen this video before :)
After 100 years, if you don't want the cabin, can I have it? It will probably be in a better shape than me!
Sounds like a deal :)
I always enjoy your videos and look forward to them. Thank you!
Thanks for you kind words!

Forte abraço.Marcel.
🇧🇷😃👍🏻
Very good barriers.
Most people just call low-lying plants "groundcover" in English. So your instincts were right! Interested to see if the strawberries come in!
Okay, so it was pretty close :) Thanks.
An old method is to put some birchbark between the rock and the logs. Prevents water get in the wood. Understandable?
Thanks for the comment. I also found that when you have 2 or more stones on top of each other, the moisture doesn't absorb to the logs.
Wonderful videos!:)i was.wondering how tall are.your logs and how wide:)thankyou.
Thanks! The logs are about 10x20cm.
Is such foundation good for greenhouse? Does the structure has to be very heavy?
Great job! What about a huglekulture type area for some vegetables
That's very interesting idea. Need to think about that. Thanks!

@@FinnishPlayground Thank you so much! It helps to hear from someone with experience :) Thank you for an advice as well!
👍🏼
