- The Apple Car. Quite possibly the most hotly anticipated rumour of this decade. And last decade. Years in the making, and still years from its first appearance, what do we know about the Apple Car?
The late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs was said to be thinking about the company’s involvement in the automotive industry way back in 2008, the era of the iPhone 3G. Fast forward a few years and the Project Titan name begins to get thrown around, an Apple project destined to bring autonomous transport to life. More than 1,000 employees were transferred onto this project in its early days.
Apple seemingly put all its eggs into this basket though, because in 2016 rumours had it that Project Titan was getting axed. After major staffing changes and leadership issues, the Project remains in operation today with John Giannandrea at the wheel - Apple’s artificial intelligence and machine learning chief.

Start making smart aggressive investments and putting your income from working into more investments! It won't take long till your investments pay more than your job. There are charging stations all over the U.S.
specific for "apple car" which i assume a fast charging station. generic charging stations, doesnt really provide enuf juice to charge up faster like tesla supercharger does.

I am a huge fan of Steve Jobs, he started it all, without him, not even SpaceX would not be what/where is today. And I also am a fan of Elon and his companies. Therefore if Apple wants to do a car I believe it is not only the best decision to pivot from "just a phone company" but the natural evolution of things. I am sure Steve would be happy. He had limited respect for the guy selling sugar water all his life and gave him the mission to build his company, so I am sure this pivot is right on his alley. Fair and healthy competition is also needed from clients perspectives too, even the workforce need that competitive factor in this space. So good luck Apple, I am sure you'll make it.

That's not Apple's style though. It is how car makers do it but Apple isn't a car company. They don't show you how the new iPhone will look like until you can buy it. Even things like AirPods. My guess is in 2025-2026 or so We will see them hyping it up and within 6 months start deliviring.

Very Interesting! Apple car has potential. But I think they should partner with Tesla instead becoming a rival. We could have the best of both worlds. I mean Tesla already has a head start on manufacturing facilities and Apple already has a really big fan base for its products.

we are at a time where traditional cars will start to become outdated. They are being made with less moving parts and fluids, more computers, AI and sensors.

Firstly, it will be overpriced and wont perform as well of any of its competitors. It will look nice, but there will be peculiar features missing that every other manafacturer has. It will have very strange ways of doing common tasks but the user wont be able to do it any other way.

The interior will be more luxurious than any other car out there, that’s for sure. Apple is the king of making a consumer product feel like a luxury product. If a higher-end model of the Apple Car gets released though, forget any car that you know has premium interior designs.

For the autonomous shuttle car they could start out by using their headquarters as a testing ground. It could be a system designed for large campus-like structures. For universities, cultural centers and large companies. It would be to slow to produce accidents that are bad for the brand. And it could be designed to be more comfortable for Apple users. Later on the autonomous car could become available for the private market. It could be used to drive your children to school by themselves or as a groceries car for the elderly. The slow autonomous shuttle car market is prolly going to be bigger than the regular EV market within the next 20 years. And maybe even further down the line.
